NY/NJ good dealer experience?
Hi guys: I want to know if any of you guys got your BRz for MSRP price around the tri state area.
Koeppel Subaru (Queens) did not honor the purchase order for MSRP. Least they can do was to give me advance notice instead of me waiting for 2 months and then giving me the bad news. This is ridiculous. |
|
I am currently in touch with Scion of Freehold, NJ - not trying to buy just yet but putting the vehicle on my "to-do" list. So far, they have called and email me a few times after little contact through email. We will see how things go...

Hassett Subaru in Long Island good people. Just purchased a SSM BRZ today. Someone backed out and guess who was lucky. Drove 20 miles home and this car hugs the corners.

I believe Milea Subaru in the Bronx has a BRZ on their lot for MSRP. Silver Premium Manual.

Wow thanks for the heads up, koeppal Subaru was my initial choice, guess not anymore...how much were they asking above msrp anyway?
And be sure to give them a bad review on dealerrater.com, that's actually the reason I was considering them, because of the good reviews they had. |
I'm in Internet Sales at Newburgh Toyota-Scion.. we are selling the FR-S at the Scion Pure Price.. not gouging or anything.. Please contact me directly if you are interested in ordering.. we delivered our first one just the other day.. so we want to order more.. Just an FYI.. there are issues with production allocation.. so it may take a little longer to get them in after awhile.. but if we can do it.. we will .. Let me know
Oh.. Also.. check us out on Dealerrater.com.. you will see we have pretty great reviews.. |
I have a question.. we are thinking of doing a Scion Car show in August.. wanted to know if anyone would be interested and would come to the New Windsor/Newburgh Area..

that's me! the buying experience was nice and smoother than expected. i paid msrp, doc fee, and taxes - nothing extra. even though i live 50 miles away in nj, the service and lack of markup made the trip well worth it. buy your car here! especially if you live south, you'll have a fun drive home.
Hey! That was you?? Great! How you enjoying it?? |

Just putting in a good word for Wayne Subaru in NJ. I bought my Forrester there even though it's 30 minutes away and I have another Subaru dealership I dislike about 5 minutes away. Wayne is family-owned and has been around for like 30 years and it shows. They even have an "Internet salesperson" that is comfortable communicating and making more of the sale via email.

Both Mid-Hudson Subaru and Ruge's Subaru in Dutchess County NY are excellent dealers. I recommend both!

It's silver though... not my favorite color. |
For people in Morris County, check out Paul Miller Subaru in Parsippany. Dealt with Charles and had a great buying experience. I got lucky really. I called around and wanted to just see the car. They had one that just arrived for their showroom. Came over and checked out the car. Put a down payment and got it the next day. Traded in my Evo 9 and financed thru my bank. No extras no markup and got it for msrp.http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...x/download.jpg

They are charging MSRP still over there? |
Got mine from Liberty Subaru. They were great during the whole preorder process and kept me in the loop when they got info. They still have 3 on the lot: 2 WRB and 1 silver. I paid MSRP.

I got mine from Subaru of Morristown $800 over invoice, so basically adding the homelink mirror and other things very small it came to the same as MSRP. Keep in mind my friend Mike went with me and he referred a friend or two who purchased from there, so more than likely they will only offer MSRP without any ties. Either way, the sales Rep Alex Hurtado was friendly. No real issues during the process, just a lot of waiting as many of you already know. Before the car shipped he asked what options I wanted and were installed before I picked it up (assuming from the factory for the mirror). I don't know what rates they were offering since I did not finance.
I did go into the dealer 2/29 (day before pre-orders started) to put my deposit down and negotiated the price. I think it was so early and a referral customer that they gave that price. Overall no gripes of the process and dealer - but I do have that stupid airbag light as most other people do. |

For anyone in the Long Island Area, Huntington Toyota had gotten their first FR-S a week ago and I test drove it today. It was the exact color and setup I wanted too (Whiteout + AT). xD The salesperson I dealt with openly admitted that she didn't know much about the car and since it just came in, she would be learning it as much as I was and she would find out as much as she could from the website or a senior sales person if I had questions she couldn't answer. I didn't want to make her uncomfortable so I chose to play dumb throughout the whole test drive. I enjoyed her honesty since all I've seen on this site were horror stories of salespeople blatantly lying about the car.
Though the key part is that there was no dealer mark-up and she was more than eager to let me drive that car and really let me get a nice feel of it down the expressway. Since they're competing with the Porsche and BMW dealerships across the street, they probably couldn't afford to rip people off on it. xD I already left a deposit on the Whiteout, but I saw that they had an Asphalt in the other lot if anyone is interested in taking a look. The salesperson was called Jasmine. :D |

I was just there today to see an FR-S advertised on autotrader at MSRP. They tried to sell it to me at $32K+!!! $5K was added on for MAV (market adjustment value), and the rest was for terrible and over-priced options added on at the dealership, such as pin-stripping, lo-jack, paint & cloth protection, hazard, etc. Waste of my time. I think I'm leaning back towards a Subaru... if I can find one! |

Overall: Great experience. Highly recommended. If anyone is interested, they still have two on their lot, as of today, both are WRB; one 6-MT limited, the other an auto. That's Liberty Subaru in Emerson, NJ. I dealt with Damon. Give them a call. |

Sounds like you got a good deal! The salesmen at subaru of ramsey was "willing to talk to his sales manager" if i was serious about buying to see if they could give me MSRP. They hve a dgm limited mt in there showroom

Plaza Scion in Brooklyn, NY. I bought the only one they had for now. They're getting more in and can do orders. They honor the pure price and Carlos was a great salesman. Excellent service, no BS.
|
I spoke to a guy at Smithtown Scion.. as of a couple of days ago they had two FR-S on the lot both with the A/T..Not sure what the selling price is.. just an FYI
