Where do you sit your bigass Phone?

Just bought a iPhone 6 plus and it doesn't fit anywhere. What have you Samsung Galaxy Note or any other bigassphone users been doing?

ciro 09-20-2014 10:47 AM

LOL this is terrible. Steve Jobs was right! Smaller phones will always be better...

I have an HTC One it fits in all the storage areas.

1. Pocket
2. (FRS) under climate control- BRZ has a big silly start button in the way.
3. Center in cup holder phone slot

NWFRS 09-20-2014 10:57 AM

Yeah. Like ciro said. Center console.

If it won't sit upright in that little wallet-slot, maybe take the cup-holder insert out altogether and just lay the phone in there.

Possibly the cup-holder in the driver's side door panel could be padded appropriately to receive a phone.

There's definitely a lack of catch-alls in these cars.

radroach 09-20-2014 11:15 AM

I use a kenu airframe mount and it mounts to my vents. I had to make a couple supports to hold the vent up (using plastic USB cord covers) and it works really well, though it did fall off a couple times around corners when it wasn't secured very well.

tennisfreak 09-20-2014 11:15 AM

I have a Nokia Lumia 1520 which makes any other phone on the market look small.
I sit it in the passenger seat or in the phone slot where the cup holder is.
The phone may not lay perfectly in the slot but it still stays in place just fine.

My ultimate goal is to get a phone mount for the dash and use the damn thing as a HUD.

CokeSlap 09-20-2014 11:46 AM

Note 3 either in my pocket or the slot in front of the cup holder

Tcoat 09-20-2014 11:54 AM

Had a buddy get a ticket just for having his phone sitting in his cup holder. Cop said if it is out it is "being used". Not how the law here reads and he will take it to court but I always keep mine put away now.

NIN69 09-20-2014 01:00 PM

I have a Samsung Note 3 and use a Beatsonic dash phone holder in my FRS. Works great and easy access when driving. Search for the Beatsonic group buy thread or contact them directly to get the best pricing.

boredom.is.me 09-20-2014 01:13 PM

iPhone 5s in a Pelican case...not getting anything bigger. No probs at all.

How the hell did the cop know his phone was there?

Silver Ignition 09-20-2014 01:17 PM

I have a 10 Series which has the push-button start like the BRZ Limited and the little slot next to it fits my 4.7" iPhone6 perfectly. That slot was one of the main reasons I didn't get the 6+.

Scosche Magic Mount to the right of the radio on the flat surface. Metal plate in a TPU case held to the back of the phone'. Worked great on my 5s, still works great with my LG G3.

This. I LOVE my Magic Mount!

dreamingat30fps 09-20-2014 02:30 PM

I've been putting mine in the space left in front of the cup holder. Like between the cup holder and where the outlet is in the center console. Slides right in there upright.

gramicci101 09-20-2014 03:08 PM

I put my phone in the cell phone slot in the cup holder. With the charger plugged in right in front of it, it works perfectly.

Got pulled into a RIDE (DUI) checkpoint. Cop sticks his head in window to take a sniff sees phone sitting in open and makes him pull to side. The guy is a yes sir no sir type so I don't think he mouthed off or anything to provoke it either.

Here's my pic, should've posted sooner. Works whether you have a replaceable battery with door or not as the metal tabs are very thin and have adhesive on one side.

ninedice 09-20-2014 06:03 PM

I put mine in one of [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Scion-Holder-Remote-Insert-Black/dp/B006DYTZS0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1411246911&sr=8-2&keywords=scion+holder+insert"]these[/ame] that I kept from my xB.

Dezoris 09-20-2014 06:46 PM

Cup holder. But if you have a 6 plus consider a Ram mount with Phablet attachment. Fits in small corner window and you can open and close door fine. See picture. I used to use Note3 but use HTC One M8 now.

N1rve 09-20-2014 07:33 PM

I have mines where @Dezoris has his HTC M8 Ram Mount.

carma143 09-20-2014 07:56 PM

I have a GS4 and slide it in the center console in front of the cupholders. Then I have a thick 5-inch micro USB cable plugged in with my phone connected to the BRZ through Bluetooth.

radroach 09-20-2014 08:14 PM

Everybody here should recognize that Android Auto and Apple Carplay head units are going to show up by the end of 2014.

I use the suction cup version of the Magic Mount in that location for my OFT when I'm logging.

And? Still going to need a place to mount the phone if you want access to it. I know it's supposed to be a perfect duplication but let's be real - it'll take a while to get that done.

Me personally I'm thinking about taking the radio out altogether and just slapping a blank sheet of carbon fiber in its place...I never use it. I'd take all the speakers out too if I do.

noobcake 09-20-2014 08:30 PM

note 3, fits right in my pocket

extrashaky 09-20-2014 09:26 PM

I have an original Galaxy Note that I use just for Torque. It lives in its original Samsung car mount stuck to the triangular window.

http://i315.photobucket.com/albums/l...lTimeInfo1.jpg

For my Galaxy 4s, I made my own phone mount to put it where I want it. That way I can access maps, music and the rest without fumbling with the phone.

http://i315.photobucket.com/albums/l...hPhoneWide.jpg

I also carry an iPhone 5, but it just stays in the slot in the cupholder.

J_kennington 09-20-2014 11:18 PM

So, do the magic mounts really work? I was thinking about picking one up for my galaxy s5.

campy 09-20-2014 11:36 PM

Does anyone with an Iphone 6 know if it fits in that cupholder phone holder thing that Scion gives out?

Mine sits in the Proclip mount ( http://www.proclipusa.com/dashboard-...812-19051.cmsv ) so I can use it for navigation while waiting for Android Auto to come out.

lastexile1987 09-21-2014 01:23 AM

+1 for the beatsonic phone holder. I use it for a note 3 and have had absolutely no issues. It was kind of pricy but it was custom fitted for the FRS and brz. Very easy to install and you never ever have to worry about suction cups or adhesives ever again.

afoust50 09-21-2014 02:23 AM

Galaxy S5 fits perfect in the little cubby hole under the climate control in my FR-S.

Kids Heart 09-21-2014 04:51 PM

Found a solution. Thanks Monkeyslide1

u have pics? i want to mount my iphone 6+ there

07jazzrs5gt86 09-22-2014 07:19 AM

No pics
That just mount on the CD slot and your phone will be right in the middle of the center air vents at about the same level also. I really like it a lot since its very easy to reach

iStanley 09-22-2014 11:43 AM

I put mine in front of the stick shift. There is an indention around the rim of the stick shift and I rest my phone there. It's good for using a big phone as a GPS.

Shark_Bait88 09-22-2014 12:55 PM

I put my Galaxy S5 in the center console tray. The cubby under the climate control is reserved for my wallet, because I hate sitting on it while driving.

tahdizzle 09-22-2014 01:18 PM

On my girlfriend's big ass boobs!

tigermack 09-22-2014 01:18 PM

Kenu vent mount is pretty sturdy for the 6.

yes. But don't use the adhesive that comes with it, get some of that 3M body panel double sided tape stuff, and it will NEVER fail you. LOVE my magic mount. 10/10 would buy again and recommend to everyone.
