Official FT86Club decal idea?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if members on this forum would like to have one official club decal representing the club. Now that both BRZ and FR-S are out in the states it would be nice for members to show their association to this community. I've created this decal a while back and would like to see others post some of their ideas.

Owner/moderators of this forum please weigh in and let us know if this is a good idea.

My design idea (small vinyl decal in off white 3.5" wide).

I would guess it'll look something like this:

Looks cool, but no stickers on my baby...

ichitaka05 06-01-2012 12:44 AM

I for one like the design. Even if it's not an official sticker, I'll prob buy 1 or 2 sets for sure

Fish 06-01-2012 12:48 AM

I like it. Any other designs by any chance?

raphymartinez 06-01-2012 06:14 AM

I like it.
Maybe make 3 varieties of of it and put up a poll?

Hanzo 06-01-2012 06:45 AM

I printed out the actual size (3.5" wide) just on white paper to do some placement test on the car:

This is my best solution, I was asking if anyone else want to post some of their ideas and see what everyone wants to go with.

Jayde 06-01-2012 07:19 AM

Ohhh I like the placement on the small window!

Fly Guy 06-01-2012 08:01 AM

Perfect Size! :w00t:

MattR 06-01-2012 08:02 AM

Looks great! I'm not sure which is my favorite placement option. Front-right windshield, and rear-side window are the best options I think.

Simple outline style works well. I think solid color versions would be a bit too much.

Pscylo 06-01-2012 08:16 AM

I'd sport it on the small windows, in a red and black scheme.

I like it a lot so i'm good. the only thing I would change is where it says " GT86/ FR-S /BRZ" to be in a straight line instead of curved letters so it matches the pistons on the top part of the decal.

Fly Guy 06-01-2012 08:25 AM

I like it just the way it is now.

LOL, it was straight originally; I suggested he curve it in the other thread :D

Hanzo, not sure if you're planning to do both, but my opinion is white text on black background > black text on white background.

TRD86 06-01-2012 09:29 AM

i like it, but i agree with having options to choose from and a poll

FR-S/GT-86 06-01-2012 11:06 AM

I'd grab one for the windshield location... I agree that red on black background is ideal... it will disappear against the black areas of the glass and show off the red.

MVJ1975 06-01-2012 11:10 AM

I'd go for one.

EmilGH 06-01-2012 11:14 AM

Is this the third thread on this topic?

Someone upload the .ai or .eps so we can order the things!

DP82 06-01-2012 12:55 PM

The topic originated and evolved on the BRZ side of the forum, but since Hanzo is shooting for an "official" CLUB decal which needs to be accepted by all sets of enthusiasts (BRZ, FR-S and GT86) he shot an invitation seeking input from this side of the family.

There are some who keep up-to-date with thoughts and ideas on both sides which is not unheard of, but that is not everybody. I would hate to see a good idea go undiscovered because this will ultimately come to fruition and be seen by many!

Anyhow, just my simple thoughts regarding strategy witnessed. Hope that is all good!

smbrm 06-01-2012 01:53 PM

I like the white on black is better than black on white. Body color ones would be interesting as well for hot lava and firestorm, but that is probably too complicated.

Smaller size at 2-2.5 inches long?

Hanzo 06-01-2012 02:00 PM

Just to be clear the decal will be vinyl die cut so it will have a clear background with the vinyl in off white. The photos I posted above are just size and placement purpose.

Hachiroku 06-01-2012 02:13 PM

Hanzo, as I've already indicated to you. I'm a fan of it! :w00t:

Snoopyalien24 06-01-2012 02:22 PM

I like my idea too, maybe Hanzo and I could team up?

smbrm 06-01-2012 03:33 PM

The top one is nice and simple, but dont make them too big

7thgear 06-01-2012 03:39 PM

do we really need a silhouette on the car of the car whose silhouette it is?

i think blocky, simple lettering of "FT86CLUB.COM" is more than enough. Nice and subtle.

Otherwise, it's like wearing a baseball hat with the words "baseball hat" written on it. :/

It's actually a silhouette of the original FT86 concept, also the name of the site. You know... roots :bonk:

Oilers99 06-01-2012 04:41 PM

I'd say the oval one looks great..

pyro530 06-01-2012 04:46 PM

I do like the silhouette. If someone can get me an EPS or older vector I can get some cut.

I like the idea of coming up with more than one logo, but we have to keep the font brand standard. Whatever that font is should be whats up in the top left corner of the website.

Brand standard is everything.

It's italic Impact.... That's standard like everywhere lol

This still happening by any chance?

I am still trying to figure out how to get this made.

nix 06-06-2012 09:13 AM

I would like something like the first design but incorporating the 86 piston logo with the only text being FT86club.com

raphymartinez 06-06-2012 09:58 AM

now I like the one with the silhouette better (top one)
reminds me of this one from when I had my 370Z
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...z/DSC04962.jpg

To me it's not redundant to have a silhouette of the car on the decal. It looks good

FreedE 06-06-2012 10:03 AM

I like the oval decal but lose the FRS/BRZ/GT86 and the oval. Lol. I like that boxer symbol.
