The time has finally come! My Hot Lava 6spd was dropped off today at my dealership. I ran out of the dealership to meet the truck like a young girl chasing Justin Bieber! I actually took a video of the truck pulling in the lot. lol

I'll get some better pics when I can. My dealership actually didn't have the radio in stock and I have to wait until it comes in to have it installed. It didn't stop me from taking her home though. I think my first mod may be a head unit. I like the Pioneer App Radio 2 and I'm leaning towards that, but not 100% yet. I'll also be getting the shark fin antenna and the Grimmspeed oil cap but those are just cosmetic enhancements.

Supposedly Scion is releasing more accessories tomorrow and I hope one is a spoiler. I'd love to get the duckbill spoiler for it right away, but I'll have to wait and see.

I'll try to keep this thread updated as I make changes. I'm not sure how many or how fast they will come because I have another project going on with a 93 4Runner that I am making a trail rig to take off roading and I have about $4,000 worth of parts sitting in my garage.

If anyone is interested in seeing what the radio area looks like with no radio there, I can take a pic so you can see how much room there is in there.

I made another video of my car in the driveway. It's kind of a walk around and it shows how to set the radio to FR-S instead of tC like many of them have defaulted to. I updated the first post with the video.

I installed my first mod on Friday last week. I received my Beat Sonic Antenna and threw it on. Very easy install.

Being that I bought the first FR-S we got it, my managers wanted me to park it out front and display it (locked up of course). Since my desk is right inside the door by the Scion entrance, they didn't have to twist my arm too much. The only downfall is if I am running late, then it's easy to see....:bonk:

Probably the Pioneer AVIC-X940BT. I want to see if I can figure out how to use the factory mic with the unit instead of wiring up a second mic.

I also want to get some of the Perrin goodies. Probably going to get intake, exhaust and pulley from him all at once. I just need to sell my previous DD by the time the stuff gets released.

I'm also going to get a spoiler. Torn between the Five Axis and the TRD.

how big is the gap between the shark fin antenna and the roof? Is the antenna really $115?

There is no gap because there is a rubber flange/gasket between the antennae and the roof. I paid $90 for it through the group buy that was in the classified section.

I have the condensation issue on both my tail lights now. At first it was just the passenger side that I noticed a few weeks ago after washing it. We just had some rain come through the area this weekend, and here are some pics of the results.

The passenger side is worse, as you can see the water puddling at the bottom of the lens.

The other issue I am experiencing is the idle issue. I caught an incident on video on the way to work on Saturday because I noticed it would happen fairly consistently coming to a stop at the red light by my work.

My dealership is making defect reports to Toyota/Scion about these issues and also for my D/S speaker grill that keeps popping up. Although the condensation & speaker grill are not major issues that affect the car in a significant way, I wanted to bring them to the attention of Toyota/Scion so in case they become a bigger issue, there is record of it being reported early on.

The idle issue is one that concerns me. I have a Perrin crank pulley waiting to be installed, but it's staying off until it gets resolved.

I installed my Perrin Crank Pulley today and so far so good! It seems to rev quicker and acceleration seems better, but it could be just the placebo effect. :iono:

I also installed another set of LED's for my reverse lights. I originally purchased a set of the CREE LED's from a vendor here and even though they are bright, they direct the light to the side of the car and you cannot see that well when in reverse.

It also caused a strange radio signal issue when I shifted into reverse. I tried rotating them to all the different configurations and it wouldn't go away. I replaced them with a set of these and no more radio issue PLUS I can see when in reverse at night without having to ride the brake pedal to gain additional light.

I also washed her again and shined her up up with some Meguiar's Quick Detailer Spray. I noticed some stone chips on my front bumper though...:mad0260::mad0260::mad0260:

I am curious, is the engine bay a different color then the car? It seems darker.

Yes, the paint in the engine bay looks terrible to be honest. It looks brown and not orange.

I've never owned a car (OBD1 or higher) that doesn't do that. Heck even my CRX's did that. The S2000 definitely did that, especially on the first warm day of the year it would do it really bad until the ECU "relearned" things and this is well documented with that group. My accord did this and my Isuzu Trooper, my dad's CRV, NSX and Civic all do this as well.

I think you should check this one off your list and relax. This is a non-issue. If it dips so low your engine dies, then have concern.

Thanks! yeah definitely my favorite color by far, but I have said this before that there isn't a bad color offered. I wish I could afford one of each! The shot would look better if my 93 4Runner trail rig wasn't in the background. It's not the prettiest but gets the job done. :thumbup:

I was luck enough to be able to be a tester for John Visconti. The thread for that can be found here.

That's is where my luck ended though because on the way home, some knucklehead in a Honda Accord chatting on his cell phone drifted off the road in a construction zone and kicked up a shower of rocks and asphalt bits. :mad0260: I was about 4-5 car lengths behind him too, which I though was plenty of space to avoid a minor incident of stone chips. I was unprepared the shear number of rocks bouncing off the hood. :cry: I cringed the entire time and still do. I have a few smaller paints chip now in my bumper and my hood. The worst was a bigger rock which I saw coming and couldn't avoid. It skipped off the back edge of my hood and hit the windshield. :cry: The windshield is now chipped almost dead center a few inches up from the bottom. I'm hoping to get it filled with some resin for the time being, but I have a feeling once the temps start to drop, it's going to crack. :mad0260: :cry:

I finally got around to have my new tail lights installed. I had condensation in both but the passenger side was much worse than the driver's side. Didn't take any pictures because, well everyone knows what the stock tail lights look like.

I also received my Grimmspeed Oil Cap and installed it today as well. #12 of 140. I did take picture of this because it's just so damn sexy...lol

Installed my exhaust today. Overall, it took about 2.5-3 hours. I did it on jack stands and if I wasn't fat, I would've had more room to move around under there...lol It was a tight fit.

Overpipe installed. Removing the heat shield makes it easier to remove the stock overpipe. I fought with it and finally gave in and it came right out in FRONT of the cross member.

My car idles the same. Did you ever take it in?

Nope, never had the dealer look at it, but I did tell them about it and told them to watch out for a TSB for it. I never got a CEL so I didn't need to. I've had Visconti's STG1 tune since the beginning of August (one of his testers) and have not had the issue since.

Wow, just realized that it's been over a year since I updated this thread. Really wish I had more to add, but haven't really done much. My most recent purchase was a Raceseng Apex R shift knob in Gunmetal.

I had the opportunity to stop by the shop and pick it up since I only live about 30 minutes away. Jarret was kind enough to give me a tour of the place and check out some parts being made. I was able to see some pulleys being made and in the various stages of production. It was neat to see a block of aluminum be turned into the finished product.

I'm looking forward to more cool parts to come from them. I'm picking up my GoPro tomorrow and just need one of their Tug Views to get some awesome footage. They have some group buys going on for some of their parts if anyone is interested.
