What FT-86 wheel size do you want to see on production version?
There's a lively discussion of wheel sizes in another thread here so thought I'd make a poll to see preferences.
So assuming the FT-86 stays about the same size, what size wheels do you want to see on production version? For reference, the concept car has 19" wheels |
I didn't put dubs in there because if you want that on this car, you should be banned :D :sm3:

The tire spec on 19" were 225/40/19, so if they change to 225/40/17, you have a lot more option to choose from, so I'm voting on 17".
Oh and finally voting system is up. Yay~ |
i'd personally prefer wider tires and a slightly taller sidewall than what they showed, and come down to 16" (i voted this) or 17" diameter.
maybe 235/40 or 245/40, of course the total diameter would have to be pretty close to the stock size, but I don't mind going a bit under |
17s will do for me. 255/40 Non-Stag set up would be perfect
|
I love all the different ideas people have. Gets me stoked to see people's rides once this thing hits the streets.
|
17's would do it for me. 17x8 Fronts and 17x9 rears would be Gold!

235 or 245 would be nice, but I'm not sure how much this thing gonna be pushin'. If they are pushin' around 200, I'll be putting 235 or 245 and the rear and keep the 225 in the front. |
225/255 would be great. Plenty of tires to choose from with those sizes.
|
18's and some wider tires at the back.
|
17" light weights with options for 17" forged light weight wheels weighing in less than 17lbs each.
staggered layout will be nice too but if they do come out with an AWD version then all 4 corners need to have the same sized rubber. |
16" steelies for base model, 16" alloys for mid range, 17" alloy for deluxe.
|
Depends on the size of the wheels wells: if tiny wheels look too puny compared to the wells, then I'll grudgingly go larger. But if I can make it look ok (and it covers the rotors) 15s it is (though I think 17s are more realistic).
|
205/60 R15 or 205/55 R16 all around.
Why different width front/rear? No need to go different width front/rear if... a) you don't have more than 35 kgm of torque b) you have done proper chassis and suspension R&D |

If FT86 gonna have 200hp (give or take) w less weight than my car (<2800 lbs) and only putting 205/60/15 or 205/55/16, expect to see the owner spinning out more often than S2k (AP1) driving in the snow (and AP1's 16" tires are nightmare). |

That's the point. A RWD sports must be able to be driven sideways. :burnrubber: If you don't want the rear to slip out, let go of the the throttle pedal... Simple! |

Simple! |
Wider everything adds weight or gets the price higher
|
17s will fit this car really well IMO. Curious if it is a staggered setup though...

My vote is for 17ins i think thats perfect for this car. Though i have to admit whatever is on the concept is pretty hot, I would be down for a set of those!
|
i feel like theyre gonna be 17s with an optional 18 or 19 inch upgrade option
|
16" for me!! i want to drift with low cost!!
|
lol the poll is flicking me off

I wonder if they will have wheel options

Honestly since the car will be so new there probably wont be many mods for it. The best mod out of the box would be tires. Im really hoping the car comes with some really good tires so I wont have to buy any. Im hoping for Hankook RS-3's, Dunlop Direzza's, Potenza RE070 or RE-11s.

I'm just happy if it will have a 5x114.3 lug pattern more selection a lot of lower offset wheels |
My guess is that they'll go for 17's... I'd prefer 16's as they weigh less and are much cheaper to autocross and track.
Here's the more important question... What is the width of the wheel???Everything in the wheel well is designed around that. The wheel width will limit the size of the tire that you can fit in there. I'd like to see standard car with 245/45/17 tires on a 17x8 inch rim and an optional track wheel setup with 275/40/17 tires on a 17x9 inch rim. Those tire sizes would be within 3/8s of an inch of the overall tire size on the concept's 19 inch rims. We'll probably end up with a rubber band tire setup like 225s on a 17x7 or 18x7 inch rim. Let's hope they do this right. That and keep it light (<2600 lbs). |

I hope its 5x114.3 too. I hope there arent members who want to look "hella flush" and cambered out to the max. :sigh: |
