EARTHQUAKE!!!!

Anyone else feel the quake in Norcal?

I'm in Santa Rosa and it was pretty crazy. Sounded like a huge bang like a freight train, then swaying like being on a boat.

We had a few things knocked over in the house.

Not fair, you can fly.

I mean, there was a huge quake in the middle of the night, is that the one you were talking about?

mike the snake 08-25-2014 05:52 AM

Yes, that was the one. I'm about 30 miles from the epicenter.

This was the biggest quake since the big one from 25 years ago. It was pretty major.

Happened at 3:20am, it was pretty scary.

serialk11r 08-25-2014 06:13 AM

Yea that was the biggest quake I've ever experienced, although I was in the South Bay so one of those quakes around 2000 that was a 5.something I think in the Peninsula shook up the house a bit more as I was closer. This quake kept on shaking for longer though, which was scary.

6.0 is what CNN is reporting: California Earthquake CNN

Had a contact a few miles from the epicenter and everything in his store was off the shelf or "upside down," scary stuff.

Stay classy San Diego (and NorCal)!

Lmao!

Didn't feel it really here in Lodi, I've been in a 7.0 quake tho. Definitely can be frightening.

I was up and felt it, a 6- 8 inch sway, with diminishing after tremors, but I'm about 60 miles south.

Kaotic Lazagna 08-26-2014 04:16 PM

I'm in Vallejo. Definitely felt it.

inertia 08-27-2014 11:26 PM

Any wild aftershocks?

mike the snake 08-28-2014 05:39 AM

Nothing too large. Yestaerday morning there were 4 or 5 with the biggest being 3.9 I think.

chiefshayan 08-28-2014 11:32 AM

Dad lives in napa. I think 2-3 miles from epicenter. Was pretty damn violent. I'm in Berkeley and it was pretty crazy

Pretty epic apparently.

Ill post some photos up when I get home. Quake woke me up at my house which was almost 50 miles away.

My place of work is less than 10 miles away. Lets just say worst Monday ever. My office was ruined and the factory I work in as the Health and Safety guy was full of impending doom.

Have worked 12 hour days all week to get this place in a safe manner. Could have been far worse for us though. We build pre fab custom homes and we hardly lost any material, no damage to our Mods, and very little damage to our building.
