Toyota Dealership Stock
When a price is released for this vehicle alot of people will either place an order or wait.
And if you are like me, and as soon as you want something, your try and get it asap, it would be good to know what dealerships have what colour/transmisson/model. Now that article carsales posted regarding "soldout" has got to be bs. I can guarantee that dealerships outside of capital cities will have stock - 1 i know of and contacted yesterday was Nowra toyota. unfortunately they dont have the colour i wanted but someone might. They have an Orange GT and a Grey GT both in manual. They guy i got in contact with was named michael and got back to me within minutes. m.coleman@nowratoyota.com.au Does anyone know of any dealerships that have a white manual GT/GTS not pre ordered yet? |
only one i know is that Penrith, NSW will get 2 orange and 2 grey. AND 2 of them will be auto
|
andrew.smith@peterwarren.com.au, 4 slots available (2 in Nov. 2 in Dec. projected delivery times based on current orders) - pick your colour and transmission......k...........go!
P.S. We're Warren Toyota at Warwick Farm NSW (Near Liverpool). I can also be contacted on 02 9828 8948 or 0406 237 776, cheers. |
^ damn that's a long wait - i'm sure when prices are revealed they will be a few dropping out so for those who haven't ordered yet the wait shouldn't be that bad.
|
right, i guess i have to blow the bubble for some of the dealers.
i called 4 dealership in the last few days, and they can all assure me that they will be able to get a car in the launch month but the color can not be guaranteed and for some strange reason they all have 1 car left. I can understand this but i was under the impression the wait is a minimum 3 months. Plus everyone is waiting on pricing to confirm the contract and if the pricing does not meet their expectations there will be more stock. failing to understand the hype with the sold out article. I only booked a car not long ago ( last 2 weeks) and i have been assured that i can get one next month. |
I know of a dealer that will have 4 cars initially (may arrive in 2 weeks), and only 1 is sold.
So all 'sold out' articles are bs, yes. |

After making a hell of a lot of phone calls this week I just wanted to have a bit of a rant about how shit and unmotivated Toyota AU staff are in general.
I understand that none of them have had the new product training, but as people working in the automotive industry you'd think the first new sports car they get to sell in decades would spark some attention and initiative from sales staff within the company. Even ignoring the complete lack of knowledge about the 86, when I call Toyota and explain I have 40 grand in my pocket to spend on one of their products, I expect more than to be cold transferred to a sales rep who's not in the office and doesn't have voicemail. :suicide: |
Nix - call us... we are happy to take your $40K... as long as it is enough.
Almost all those cars are unallocated.. there is about 3 times that list that IS allocated... At Sea and waiting for launch are GOOD.. the others are not as exciting... Call the number during business hours. We get to see and touch them this Monday... initial training. |
I may do that thx.

WHO DOES NO ONE SEEM TO HAVE BLUE!!?? pretty depressing if u ask me, its rarely seen in photos and by the looks of it, i might NEVERR be able to see it in person :( :(
|
put blue cellophane tape over your eyes and look at a white one?

To be honest at first i wanted the white because my dealer talked me into it saying "oh, nah the extra paint cost doesn't apply...yada yada..." so i go "oh yeah, if that's the case white it is!". Then by the time I changed my mind, his like "I'll try, i doubt i can change the colour in time for you to blue" a week later he replied "Sorry man, i can't change it, if you really wanted it changed you'll be at the back of the line. =/" So i was like "ahh what the heck...white is white...not too fussed"
I don't mind the white. you could always wrap your car up. http://www.provinyl.com.au/index.htm - I was thinking getting carbon fibre over the hood and roof, not sure if tinting the headlights is legal and i think it effects the brightness of the light too...maybe light tint on the tail lights... =) |

I would normally just go off the post ion of the light... yellow always being in the middle

Hey peeps I need some advice...
When I first signed my contract just this week my dealer assured me that I would be getting a car in July but today he called me up and said it will be built in July and expect delivery in August. So just wondering from what your dealers have told you what is your build month and what is your expected delivery month? I'm curious because I've lost trust in my dealer (not that I had much in the first place) and I think he might be bullshitting me again. PS. I rang some dealers today just to figure if someone could get the specs I wanted earlier. No luck but here's what I found... Phil Gilbert Toyota in Lidcome, NSW - have a Red GTS Auto coming in July and Black GTS Auto coming in August. Lander Toyota in Blacktown, NSW - have a White GTS and Silver GTS coming in July. |
it will be built in July and expect delivery in August.
^^^^^^^^^^^^ Same with me. :( it will come when it will come. |

Hi Sticky, thanks for the post mate, appreciated. It's not necessarily your dealer's fault. Unfortunately Toyota have not accounted for the success of this car world wide and have pushed most production of the Australian stocks back a month or so. I believe they have done so to accommodate other, larger right hand drive markets. Now the guys who actually make cars can correct me if i'm wrong but i reckon it would take them almost a month to physically reset production line - plus the 86 and BRZ are made on the same production line at Fuji Heavy Industries in Japan and we were told by TMCA at training the other day that Fuji Heavy' have not made a separate production line for 86 & BRZ; what that means is they share a similar production line as some other Fuji Heavy' types of motor vehicle. it may be such a thing as production timing, for example, half the month may be spent building Subaru Impreza's then they stop the line, do a tool change then restart it building 86's then stop it, do another re-tooling then start making BRZ's, etc. There may be another reason entirely but let me assure you this sticky - no dealer wants to slow down delivery of any car on order, regardless of type, because it slows down final payment to the dealer and car salespeople like myself don't get paid commission on sales, we get paid commission on deliveries which just doesn't happen without cars to deliver. There is no logical reason any dealer, including myself as i work for Warren Toyota, would desire to hold off on delivering a car they are waiting to get paid for. Having said all that, there may be another reason they (TMCA/Toyota Japan) have pushed production back another month or so for most vehicles. Unfortunately folks the head honcho's don't always share their reasons for doing things with dealers/salespeople. Allow me to share with you that i have spent the better part of almost every day and up to 1-2am of the following day for the better part of 3 months preparing for the 86 launch so i could keep my customers informed and you folks too so to make the best of things for everyone concerned. It has been very difficult almost flying solo on this but i can tell you mate whether we like it or not Australia is a very small drop in the pond on a world scale for motor vehicle sales. Larger markets are generally always satisfied first. It may interest you to know that Australia's yearly sales of new motor vehicles equal approximately 1 month's supply in the USA. Not sure of the RHD Euro market but i imagine it would be something similar. Anyway, it will all be resolved soon enough; hope that helps you understand the way things usually work folks. Thanks for the reply guys. I would have bought the car from you Andrew because you seem like a genuinely nice guy based on your presence on this forum - it's just I live pretty far away from Warwick Farm.
