Shady Dealerships!
So I pre-ordered my FR-S MT from North Bakersfield Toyota/Scion. I was told I was number one and they will contact me as soon as they come. So today i decided to call them to ask if any has arrived there. Internet Manager told me the have already sold the MT FR-S and they have 3 FR-S in stock that were automatic. No one from there ever tried to contact me with any info..Now they are going to see if they can trade from another dealer to see if i can get a MT FR-S. How lame is that. Oh....they also told me that only 10% of FR-S came in a MT....the other 90% was automatic?? I don't think the would match their slogan "Bringing the Sports

Damn that's frustrating, makes me paranoid too. I haven't even gotten a call back from my dealer. You'd figure being right next to the port they wouldve had em by now.

The other dealerships I've talked to are getting close to 50/50 as well. I think it might skew a bit closer to more AT than MT, but 90/10 is WAY wrong. |

There is a hold at the ports right now. It's either due to an issue with the manual or they are holding the cars for the official June 1st launch date since some dealers were selling early. |

I've been pretty unhappy with my dealership experience so far as I have been in the dealership about 4 times since October of last year asking about the car. Thus far I had not been able to get a single sales person to give me any info or give me a call back and I wanted to pre-order my car.
I did finally get one sales guy who had a clue ... I will reserve my final judgement until the car is actually at the dealer and I see the price. |

Our last confirmation on the numbers I posted was about 3-4 weeks ago with our DM, which literally just works on vehicle inventory. It's possible something may have changed from what we were told 3 weeks back, but it's unlikely. We were told that they will be monitoring the sales trends and tweaking the transmission order balance once things settle. |
Carson Toyota had 3 FRS last Sunday, 2 were gone by the time I got there on Tuesday and 1 last auto silver is sitting in showroom because the buyer they believed is backing out....I got to sit in tried out things but no test drive possible.....
First saleman came up repeatedly asked me if I want to do trade in even though I told him I prefer to sell my car privately....dude got mad because I emphasized I DO NOT want to do trade in....second dude came up blatanly told me they only sell this car if buyer has trade in....I basically told him to piss off leave me alone with the car lol that was mean but damn i got bothered....finally I got a hold of Nathan (he is one of their saleman and is a member here), very nice straight forward guy....he puts me on the list for a manual.... |

As long as Scion dealers are allowed to order the cars, they'll probably be 90% auto because dealers are morons and think that this is just another A-B econobox that the general public wants to use to drive through MacDonalds drive-thru and pick up 72 Big Macs with.

Hello guys, First off thanks Don for coming in. It was good to meet you and the wife. Sorry, you guys had to be late to the beach day, and that my retail guys attacked you.
I will mention here that even if your at my dealer just to look at my FR-s please make the receptionist aware that you are here to see me(Nathan). If I am available I will jog right down and greet you. Otherwise Retail Salesmen Attack!! (This is for everyone not just you Don.) I will ask this question, Could any of those guys answer your questions? |
Just came back from doing some chores & went to local Toyota SCION dealer... I gotta say, they made it into my blacklist in very unique way. No they didn't raise the price... no, they didn't go crazy on me... it was unique experience no less

Got into the parking lot. I see about 6~10 sales ppl hiding in the shade (don't blame them, it's hot outside :) ). Got out of the car and walk towards the building, I was kinda worry that all those guys gonna tackle me (lol)... but reality, every single one of em ignored me. She just a dude sitting playing w the phone for 10 mins (or maybe more) to help me. I just asked simple questions. 1. Are you guys getting any FR-S? 2. If they're all reserved, how long is waiting time? 3. What options does it come with & how much gonna be? I gotta say, & not to be rude to that sale rep guy, but man, it was funny watching him. I can tell heat or work is beating him HARD!!! He didn't even have any excitement or any energy or maybe he had a hangover. lol It was one of the hardest 10mins not to laugh. He did answer all of question (kind of) & yes, they're selling it MSRP no mark-up BS (which is good thing), but all the info was given by website. I was like "thanks, but I could of found out at home"... BUT they don't give a ****. After chat around w that guy, I walked out of the main door (w all those sale reps front) and noticed a lady walking towards me, I said hello passing by while all those morons keep chatting themselves. lol I was like wow~ I'm glad they didn't bug the crap out of me nor mark-up the price... but IDK how they gonna be selling ANY car in general. I'm not saying every single sale reps need to say hello, but ignoring might not be a good idea. lol I had a better experience w Karl Marlone Toyota SCION. When & IF I do buy FR-S, I'll prob hit up Karl Marlone Toyota SCION. |
I'm in sales (not car sales) and I once heard that...
Sales is the easiest, lowest paying job, or the hardest, highest paying job. Doesn't sound like they were very "hungry" and first impressions in sales is everything. |
