Don't want the hassle of a custom e-tune, going back and forth with data logs and tune revisions? Check out our =FAST-FLASH= tunes. After hundreds of hours of R&D and tuning to perfect our N/A EcuTek tunes, and receiving numerous requests for a tune that is ready to flash and drive without the back-and-forth of custom tuning, we have created N/A tunes that are ready to go: =FAST-FLASH=. The =FAST-FLASH= N/A tunes deliver 90%-95% of the performance of a custom E-tune. We are offering 1 data log review/tune revision (optional) with these tunes.

We also offer custom E-tuning and dyno tuning.

Traction Control
We have completed testing of our custom traction control tune, using the advanced features of EcuTek RaceRom to implement. Our custom traction control now fully integrates with EcuTek launch control. No more bogged launches caused by traction control! This is now an option on the tune purchase form on our website: http://www.brz-parts.com/ecutek.html

Throttle Mapping
We have developed and tested new throttle mapping that gives a more linear feel to the throttle and increases the resolution available to you. Unlike the factory mapping where your throttle is all in just past 50% accelerator pedal, our tunes will give you full use of that 2cnd 50% of the accelerator pedal. This is great for anytime you wish you had more throttle resolution/modulation like when you are managing your way around a track or twisty back-roads, powering out of corners. This provides improved throttle control.

These are a few of the things we are working on and have implemented. In addition to building our own race cars (Time-Attack, Pike's Peak), we are now tuning more and more BRZ/FR-S/GT86 race-prepped cars. Great to see more 86's getting the full race treatment!

Thank you for your continued support and business. We continue to strive for excellence in our products and services, and most importantly our customer service to you!

Check out the full details and options of our tuning on our website: http://www.brz-parts.com/ecutek.html

We are currently tuning this rally-prepped 86. The owner is going with our custom tuning using EcuTek RaceRom on his stock ECU in lieu of a Haltech stand-alone. Lots of custom mapping, using everything EcuTek has to accomplish the goals of this tune! Love a great challenge!

Alright, I really don't mean to be a **** here but I have to ask why spending ~$250 on a single tune from you guys thats just a plug and go is better than the ones being made by the OFT crew and other free sources? I could see the price for a customized tune, logging sending flashing, logging sending flashing etc.. but for a plug n play that just seems like a lot considering any drop n go tune has to have some room for error as all cars are different, thus not being optimized for every car.

I don't own either so I have no skin in the game I'm just curious why spending $250 and getting a plug n play tune from you would be better than spending the money for a Flash tool and using free tunes that people are dedicated to.

Given the profit margin and the work/time involved in these tunes, that only makes sense. To be honest, I'm glad guys are starting to do this as it'll prevent the good tuners from getting over worked and leaving the scene.

I do have a few questions though.

How/will you roll out updates as the racerom features continue to be developed, the factory tune is updated, and any possible improvements are made to your base tune?

Will the tune adapt to a header or intake if installed after the tune revision process? If a future revision is required, how much will that be? (given the forum rules, I understand if you don't want to post a dollar amount) And, who will determine if a revision is required, ie would a customer be able to send you a datalog and ask if they need anything tweaked without paying for your time to review the logs?

Great looking site by the way.

Hey, I don’t think you are being a **** at all. Good questions, and I’m glad you asked.

First, up until now, all of our tunes have been custom tunes. A fair percentage of our customers and potential customers have expressed great interest in a tune that did not require the effort a custom e-tune requires. That includes all of the driving, data logging, flashing, etc. These customers wanted an easier solution that still provided a good power/torque increase, took advantage of any modifications done to the car, along with the features EcuTek and RaceRom offer. We still offer custom e-tuning as well.

I believe our tunes are competitive as well as filling a need as expressed by many we talk with. We have hundreds of hours invested in R&D perfecting these tunes, adding new features, solving unique issues, and ensuring the tunes run the FA20 engine correctly and optimally. I can’t say what “others” have are have not invested into their tunes. Our tunes are also professionally maintained, will be updated as new features are developed, and continually refined as needed.

With EcuTek RaceRom, our tunes offer features other solutions do not. Things like map switching where you can run unique combinations of features on up to 4 maps, including running different fuels and octane levels, even E85 and race fuel, without the need to reflash a tune – no laptop, tablet, etc. needed, just a quick flick of the cruise control stalk. We also offer a custom traction control feature that can be tuned on/off with the car’s TC and VSC controls. This is like having four tunes in one.

While our =FAST-FLASH= tunes are more of a plug-n-play tune, they do deliver 90-95% of the performance of our custom e-tunes, and they still offer quite a bit of customization in how the customer can configure the tune as he/she likes with up to 4 maps configured with any of the available features (launch control, flat-foot shifting, auto-blip, custom traction control, fuel). And we still offer 1 data log review/tune revision to ensure the tune is performing the way it should.

Overall, our EcuTek tunes have a lot to offer with many features, abilities, and conveniences not found in other solutions. Our =FAST-FLASH= tunes may not be for everyone, but they offer a very solid performing tune full of features, customizations, and convenience. For those wanting to get every HP possible from their setup, we still offer custom e-tuning and local dyno tuning.

Calum, thank you!

We will be updating these tunes periodically as new EcuTek RaceRom features are developed, we develop new features, a new factory update is released, and as we further refine the tunes. We use a versioning methodology just as software developers use (I have an IT background :D), and new versions will be announced as they become available.

The tune can handle a wide variety of hardware, but some items such as an intake, may require a tune revision. For existing customers who update their hardware after the tune is complete will be handled on a case-by-case basis to determine if a tune revision is needed. We work hard to provide great customer support. If needed, we offer tuning at an hourly rate, billed in ½ hour increments. Most items such as an intake change would require minimal time and would be performed at a very reasonable rate.

This question of plug and play vs custom tunes gets asked a lot. Here is my take on it. A tune created over a few hours in one location can't get close to a tune refined to work well over dozens of hours at varying octane levels, elevations, humidity levels, temperatures, amounts of heat soak, etc. I look at it like carb vs fuel injection. While a carburetor can be setup to make more power than fuel injectors could, the range of conditions when the carb will make more power is so small that it's not a sensible solution.

As for OFT vs Ecutek, that's much too subjective.

Custom Throttle Mapping is now complete and tested! It is an option that can be incorporated into all of our tunes.

Rally GT86 Tune Update

We completed our initial tune on the Rally GT86. This tune was performed via a remote dyno tune.

Tune and Engine Setup:

Setup:
K&N Intake
Nameless Performance 4-2-1 Header with 2.5" straight pipe
TODA racing big throttle body (may be coming off)
TODA racing lightweight flywheel
TODA racing lightweight pulley kit

Running 98 RON gasoline

Top Speed on flat Tarmac: 142mph (5.13 FD installed after tune)

http://s17.postimg.org/pk7g2w3fz/104...78582283_n.jpg

The dyno used is a Dynocom dyno.

Note: The pre-tune results were with all of the hardware installed running the factory tune.

These are the results from the initial tune. We did not have much time to get the tune fully dialed in, so we'll be fine tuning it in the near future.

http://s28.postimg.org/jhb1xi7p9/GT8...Dyno_Graph.jpg

What really impressed us was the 75+ lb.-ft. torque gain in the stock dip around 4200 rpm. With a tune, the nameless header really shines!

Wow, that header is a what you need! :-)

Deep Six 09-25-2014 08:43 AM

I have both 93 octane and E85 tunes loaded from Bob with absolutely zero issues in the 10 months since they were installed. Bob tuned my car direct, street in the morning and dyno in the late afternoon, 93 one day and E85 the next. Considering the amount of hours involved, the cost minus the dyno rental was a bargain. My car made 205 whp on E85 which translates to 130 mph terminal speed at Roebling versus the 119 stock.

It may be time to come in and get some of the new features added especially if we can eliminate the 30 second 1500 rpm startups!

Fizz 09-25-2014 11:24 AM

@Circuit Motorsports I asked in the other tracking/autocross thread but figured here would be more appropriate.....are the gains shown above from the rally car's dyno typical of what can be expected with the nameless header & tune (plus other exhaust bits)??

That's a very impressive gain there especially the torque. Would that tune be applicable to a daily street driven car with same header?

Circuit Motorsports 09-26-2014 10:37 AM

Thanks! Has it really been that long? Time goes by so fast! Glad it is still running well for you.

We definitely need to get your tune updated. I've developed and added lots of new features since your tune, including a new cold-start function that is much quieter than stock! Email coming your way soon!

I really don't have enough data on the nameless header to declare these results typical. The Nameless Performance dyno charts do show massive torque gains in the same area and seem to support the results.

The exhaust on the rally car is not typical of a street driven car in that the exhaust is only the header with a straight pipe -- nearly 0 restrictions. As restrictions in the exhaust are added, I would expect the gains to reduce a bit, but I believe you can still expect a huge torque gain right in the stock torque dip area, and the general torque and power curves to be similar.

My tune with this header would absolutely be applicable to a daily driven street car.

200whp with PTuning Header Setup

We recently tuned this BRZ with a PTuning Header, making peak 200whp on 93 octane fuel for a 40whp peak gain (Stock BRZ/FRS's run at 160whp/138wtq on this dyno)!

Setup:

2013 BRZ 6MT
  • PTuning EL header
  • Nameless Performance 2.5" Catted Overpipe/Downpipe
  • Perrin 2.5" Resonated Cat-Back Exhaust
  • TRD panel filter
  • 93 Octane Pump Gas

http://s30.postimg.org/xjvqv0bu9/final_g.jpg

http://s27.postimg.org/k90hxnmab/final_n.jpg

I would have been surprised by the existence of the torque dip had I not seen the dyno charts from PTuning as most aftermarket headers I've tuned remove the dip. But, like the stock header, I was able to minimize the dip with the tune to the point that the dip is not felt at all running through that area at part or full throttle.

Great mid to top-end power, and very smooth!

Dialing in the Nameless Perforance 4-2-1 Header - 201whp

BRZ - 201whp with Nameless Performance 4-2-1 Header Setup - Circuit Motorsports, Orlando FL

We dialed in the cam tuning for the Nameless 4-2-1 header, making peak 201whp on 93 octane fuel for a 41whp peak gain (Stock BRZ/FRS's run at 160whp/138wtq on this dyno)! Huge torque gains in the stock torque dip area (3400-4800rpm). This area becomes a torque bubble instead of a dip with these headers.

Setup:

2013 BRZ 6MT
  • Perri CAI (standard size, not the BigMAF)
  • Nameless Performance 4-2-1 Long-Tube Header, coated
  • Tomei Over-Pipe
  • Tomei Front-Pipe

It's been a while since posting any updates, so thought I'd share the results of a couple of supercharged 86s we dyno tuned recently.

This one was a treat since we rarely get an automatic with forced induction in the shop to tune! Pulls hard, smooth, and strong. We were able to tune it to work seamlessly with the automatic transmission. Shifting in automatic mode was smooth with no issues.

Thank you for your interest. We don't have a graph for the JDL header - we've e-tuned multiple JDL setups, but have not had a JDL setup on the dyno yet. We expect this header to also make ~200whp on the dyno, on 93 pump with no torque dip.

Good catch! The brake and clutch master cylinders and reservoirs were relocated to inside the cabin as part of a complete Tilton pedal box system that includes adjustable pedals and allows the driver to adjust brake bias front/rear on the fly.

Any dyno plots with Tomei header? I already ordered one and am trying to choose which e-tuner to go with ;)

FT-86 SpeedFactory Catted UEL Header - 190whp/168wtq

2013 FRS - 190whp/168wtq with FT-86 SpeedFactory Catted UEL Header Setup - Circuit Motorsports, Orlando FL

We've been a bit behind in posting. Recently, an FRS came in for a local dyno tune sporting an FT-86 SpeedFactory Catted UEL Header. Being our first local dyno tune for this header, we were curious how much power it would make with a cat in place.

It did very well, making peak 190whp on 93 octane fuel for a 30whp peak gain (Stock BRZ/FRS's run at 160whp/138wtq on this dyno). Nice low-mid range torque. Stock torque dip is gone!

Setup:

2013 FRS 6MT

  • TRD Intake
  • TRD Cat-Back
  • Motive Concepts Front Pipe and Overpipe
  • FT86 Speedfactory Catted Header - UEL
  • 93 Octane Pump Gas

198whp/167wtq BRZ Race Car with Stock Header - w/Video!

198whp/167wtq BRZ Race Car with Stock Header - Circuit Motorsports, Orlando FL

Recently tuned this BRZ dedicated road race car, that participates in the SCCA Road Racing series in touring class (T4). It has been the regional SCCA champion car the last two years. Modifications are minimal all around.

Made great power considering it uses the stock exhaust manifold. Still exhibited the torque dip inherent to the stock manifold, which our tuning greatly reduces to the point it is barely felt if at all.
