NO more BRZ Exhausts for sale from Subaru

Hi
Contacted Subaru Jhb and CT to purchase a BRZ exhaust for my 86. Both offices informed me they are discontinuing the BRZ in SA and don't order/source the local performance exhausts anymore.
Tienie the dealer principle from CT indicated that if he has about 10 orders he "could possibly" get in a batch.

Anyone interested in a group buy ?

Alternately what is a good alternative exhaust without the "boom"

Regards

Maybe try the dealers as they might have stock, I purchased a BRZ exhaust today from Subaru centurion, friendly service manager, managed to get a discount as well, paid R5300, and they delivered it to Toyota for free (which is across the road) fitting it on tomorrow with my service, cannot wait, makes me excite!:happyanim:

Dealers meaning subaru branches, I'm going to pass my subaru centurion tomorrow when I pick up my car and will find out if they can get you one, will let you know

Wondering if it's not just the transport cost/faff of sending it from Pretoria (where it's manufactured I believe) to CPT?

FT_86_SM_GP 08-06-2014 04:12 PM

Could be, because the parts guys called 'pretoria' when I was there and got it delivered from there to centurion.
@Freedom how much did you pay for your brz exhaust at the centurion subaru?

FT 86 SM GP .....PLEASE check if that dealer has one and pm me.
Will pm you my cell number.
Thanks a million !

Confirmed by Subaru SA that this is NOT true.

ShaunWRX 08-07-2014 07:09 AM

Who is the manufacturer of this performance exhaust? Surely we could just go straight to them?

mrauto 08-07-2014 07:29 AM

Thanks Sav...just figured out some of them fed me BS.

Subaru Centurion is organizing me one and couriering it down to Subaru CT (the very guys that gave me the story) an no extra cost ! Shamai van Wyk was fantastic in assisting me.

The spares guys at Subaru Somerset West told me they don't have but its company policy not to sell to 86 owners ... didn't know whether to laugh or tell him to F off !

Just how loud is this exhaust ?

mrauto 08-07-2014 07:30 AM

I heard it is Van Graaf

DrSUTRA 08-07-2014 08:12 AM

It is De Graaf exhausts, but hey are manufacturing under exclusive contract with Subaru. It was developed with and for Subaru. Their badges are on the exhaust itself :-) They are indeed made in PTA!

Still loving mine :-)

Cheers!

They quoted me R5300, but I had Rikus(from RMS) pick it up and had Toyota install it. With installation it was R6300. Installation was R700, Rikus charged me R300.

mrauto 08-07-2014 09:21 AM

Are you happy with it?

sav 08-07-2014 09:57 AM

Lots.

I know it's De Graaff but mine had zero branding anywhere.

Freedom 08-07-2014 10:16 AM

Extremely happy.

Alang 08-07-2014 01:00 PM

Best exhaust you can buy, you won't be sorry.

mrauto 08-07-2014 04:48 PM

Thanks for the feedback ....order goes in on Monday :-)

They also sound awesome but shipping to SA is almost more than the exhaust itself and then you still need to pay VAT and customs.

sav 08-08-2014 03:21 AM

BTW
$600 for Greddy SP Elite plus $525 then 14% VAT on top of that and around 20% customs so you're looking at around $1350 vs $500 for the BRZ one which sounds just as good in my opinion.

Which is why BRZ is the best. There may be louder ones etc etc but it's a great exhaust and value for money can't be beaten!

Freedom 08-08-2014 05:44 AM

Now imagine if there were some nice other mods created locally. That would help the pocket a bit.

Smokey 08-27-2014 05:22 PM

I have ordered my BRZ Exhaust from subaru centurion today .... only arriving next week ..... The anticipation!
