TRD Griffon Track Edition and Street Edition Concepts
5 Attachment(s)
White is track edition, red is street edition from http://www.trdparts.jp/griffon_concept/index.html. I instantly like the rear bumper and vented fenders. Still digesting the swan neck wing though it's functionally optimal and  at the spoiler blade. The original Griffon looks its part as the battle ready real deal while these derivatives look "adapted" for the consumer.

Front bumper on both versions looks bulky. Is that a reverse light recessed in the back bumper? I'd like the hood off the race car please.

Yes it is a reverse light Attachment 86947 |
STi really needs to up their game, really digging the rear bumper except for the reverse light !
I'm trying to decide if the track version has additional track for the front wheels. If I had to guess its about 10mm-15mm wider flare out front but nothin in the rear. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me

Also wondering where the rear fog light is on the street version !

Love the wide fender and the rear diffuser
same here I love that diffuser!!
wtf is that wing.
Love the fenders and rear diffuser/bumper/exhaust. I hope this means that they are releasing some of the engine goodies too. I know TRD is using a different set of internals for their Griffon race car. That I might pay JDM monies for.
It needs to include the functional intake/down force inlet and down force hood
Oil cooler, different front strut brace, compact battery and rear speaker housings are easter-eggish... oh and DEM SIDEMARKERS on the track edition!
Also, they shaved the front badge on the track edition too. |
Fenders, bumpers, and diffuser look yum. The wing is uber functional with very little additional drag. A little tiny though, like a tiny hat on a fat kid.
I think that light is a brake strobe.
Sweeeeeet mama that is hawt. Will they be produced for the consumer market?
fenders = win!
The track edition would be perfect if it only had BRZ headlights and DRLs/fogs.
the side marker is killing the look of the fenders for me. and the rear wing is misplaced size and look wise to the flow of everything else. do i love this? yes. i love the diffuser and surprisingly those sides too!
The track edition front bumper looks like a carp, the line to the fender and the eventual wide fender is also different to the griffon itself.
Definitely much prefer the fender and the front bumper on the griffon, they could have tone it down without making it ugly..... |
reminds me of a focus st
We need some sound clips! Curious to hear what that exhaust sounds like !

In simplistic terms, in a conventional spoiler, the mounts attach on the bottom of the wing, thus creating airflow separation and thus robbing the wing of downforce (in the area the mounts connect to) while simultaneously creating drag Swan necks remove this separation by allowing the underside of the wing (where the air will be speed up thus creating the low-pressure zone) to be completely unimpeded with only the leading edge having slight separation as well as a minimal drag reduction And they can be made to look pretty lol :bellyroll: |
I like those wheels!
Really digging the track Version
I see the street versions air intake is a dummy, but I can't quite tell if the track versions' a dummy too or actually functional. Can anyone else see it? I could just need glasses.
