Dang I'm jealous. I may need to bother you sometime. A lift is killer to get some work done with.

DarrenDriven 05-29-2012 12:10 AM

Yeah, I always wanted a workspace where I could work on cars in a relaxed way. It always ends up being at night, when it is cold and raining. It's way better to have music jamming and it's warm and well-lit.

blu_ 05-29-2012 12:13 AM

Pretty sweet!!!

LivingLegend 05-29-2012 12:14 AM

0.o Thats awesome!!! Super jelly!!! Glad I live somewhat close =]

DarrenDriven 05-29-2012 12:15 AM

I'm sure that I'll be knocking out some spring installs pretty quick... maybe some exhaust swaps, etc. It's cool being able to help out. Look forward to meeting some of you guys.

PS: You must bring me some beer for AFTER the install, haha.

WRB-DZA-BRZ 05-29-2012 01:03 PM

Very nice! I might be buying you some beer before too long!

...btw, how do you "thank you" a post?

DarrenDriven 05-29-2012 01:05 PM

This was my best free beer idea yet! Hehe....

Thanks button is on bottom right of each post. Little yellow smiley face.

WingsofWar 05-29-2012 01:31 PM

Darren ill be sure to stop by and say hi and take a look around on my trips down to Portland. Maybe we can colab on a project one day. I support grassroots builders and the small time enthusiast movement. Your man cave open to us members is a prime example of what i support.

Hoping one day to start a more intimate NW enthusiast chapter beyond the fourms.

DarrenDriven 05-29-2012 01:34 PM

Yeah WoW, you're always welcome. I keep beer at the shop for those who don't owe me any, so give me a shout and you can stop by and share a couple.

I've founded a couple of car clubs and organized a few enthusiast events in my past... got a little turned off when I realized that most xB owners were a little strange, but maybe FR-S/BRZ owners will be more ummm.... adjusted? Hehe.

luxmn 05-29-2012 01:39 PM

im nowhere close but man, respect for mancave :D

DeepHunta 05-29-2012 01:54 PM

Sweet! Thanks Darren. I will take you up on that offer. One of the first few mods I will be doing is exhaust so I'll need to lift the car up.

BRZ owners should be more "adjusted" as you say.

The drive from Seattle to Portland isn't all that bad. I get to see that Nuclear Reactor on I-5, heheh.

DarrenDriven 05-29-2012 01:55 PM

Thanks man, I forgot that I made this timelapse of the mural. Good way to kill three minutes.

I'm 36 and had parents in Portland and Tacoma, so my childhood was spent going back and forth the operational Trojan powerplant. It is strange to me that the cooling tower is missing... no steam rising into the clouds.

Tainen 05-30-2012 03:42 PM

wow, very jealous.

After I got my BRZ, I took a look at my tool set and realized... it's time for an upgrade. My 54 piece set isn't going to cut it anymore. Time to save up for a nice set of crafstman wrenches and tool box for the garage.

Don't forget, Harbor Freight Tools have lots and lots of industrial grade tools on the cheap :D

Tainen 05-30-2012 07:48 PM

I've been "surviving" on harbor freight tools for the past few years. A few of them are great- breaker bar for 9 bucks? heck yeah- but I think I could use a real tool set that will last me the rest of my life, so I don't haveto re-buy all the harbor freight junk that breaks on me every few years.

DarrenDriven 05-31-2012 01:42 AM

Well I have a crap-load of tools, too, so if any of you guys ever need some help or a place to work on your beast then just let me know. More than happy to assist.

Mr.Jay 06-06-2012 02:12 AM

I'm not close but man that man cave is awesome and the contribution to the ft86 community is astounding so it deff calls for a trip down to Portland to check the place out and meet ya.

maybe also to pick up parts and install as well

DarrenDriven 06-06-2012 02:13 AM

Definitely man. I ordered some extra suspension goodies so I can have them sitting around for other BRZ/FR-S owners when they want to lower their car. I'll post more about that when the parts actually arrive.

Wow.. you have no idea how much would I want to be close... That mancave is AWESOME

DarrenDriven 06-07-2012 12:52 AM

Haha, road trip!

Zach 06-08-2012 09:48 PM

Shop looks like a great spot to play cars! Your taillights turned out awesome, I just picked up my raven and want to go solid red. Have enough left over? I will split the cost with ya haha.

DarrenDriven 06-09-2012 01:38 AM

Yeah man, I have plenty left over for like three sets of lights. I'm glad you stopped by today, your car looks much cleaner debadged!

http://i46.tinypic.com/rhtqis.jpg

dvsidboy 06-09-2012 01:40 AM

I need to go solid red also...maybe trade photos for paint work. ;)

DarrenDriven 06-09-2012 01:47 AM

Yeah, that would be cool. I'm always down for some cool photos. I'll be around all week next week, feel free to give me a shout. Just so you know, I'll need the lights overnight so they can cure properly... so plan to either bring me just the lights, or prepare to leave your car overnight.

DarrenDriven 06-22-2012 02:09 AM

NickFRS stopped by today with his Asphalt FR-S, that was cool man. Then Zach went all Griot's on my car today with claybar and a nice seal and wax. Thanks!

You have no freakin' idea how JEALOUS I am for the amount of space that man cave of yours has!

Love your car btw!

Oh, I kinda notice a typo in your sig too; you put down "2003 Scion FR-S" I think you meant 2013.

No problem at all, hit me up the next sunny batch of days. I appreciate having a great area to hang out and work on the car, the "cold" beer was a great addition :happy0180:

Good to meet ya Nick, cant wait to see your car after the drop!

Hahahaha... oops. I made that new sig late last night and I MIGHT have made an error.... or maybe it was a trick and you got an A+?

NickFRS 06-25-2012 12:57 PM

Was a good time at the shop! Next time i'll bring over some brews! To bad I had to dip out early. I will deff be stoping by again. Can't wait to see yours dropped darren seems that your coils will be here first. We need to get some 10+ FRS/BRS deep photos going some time! Or play how many scions can we fit in the shop ahaha!

DarrenDriven 06-25-2012 01:30 PM

I just ordered some D2 coilovers directly from the manufacturer, which are half the price of my KWs (that are arriving today) so we'll see how things work out.

Yeah, I should be able to cram five FR-S/BRZs in the shop.... that would make for a cool photo!

DarrenDriven 07-26-2012 02:28 PM

It was good to meet @Mongo and @digital_assassin at the shop last night for a few beers. See you guys around again soon.

Dude, sorry I took off and didn't sweep up the glass. Thanks for the lights and lets hang out again soon. :thanks:

Neziah 07-26-2012 03:01 PM

:happy0180:

You should go for 6 next time!

DarrenDriven 07-26-2012 03:21 PM

Haha... it's all good, took two seconds to scoop the glass up with the shovel. No worries.

Neziah, you should PM me your cell number and I will give you a heads up next time we are at the shop. Would be cool to meet ya.

dvsidboy 07-26-2012 10:37 PM

I want in on the next meet!

DarrenDriven 07-26-2012 11:52 PM

I'll text you next time I'm headed over there. It wasn't really a meet... just me working on my car. :)

digital_assassin 07-30-2012 02:34 AM

I think we should have a detail day at the garage. I went North and made a pit stop at Griot's Garage in Tacoma and picked up a ton of stuff. And when we got home Home Depot was beckoning me with final supplies.

http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/...5/IMG_0254.jpg

DarrenDriven 07-30-2012 12:45 PM

Holy shxt! Yeah... I need help from @Zach anyway... I have some very faint scratches on one side of my car. Is there a day this week that is better for you guys than another? I am thinking that Thursday won't work for me... how about Wednesday?
