STI Lip Kit
Anyone know if these can be ordered from a local dealership yet, or if anyone have part numbers by chance? I'm in need of the sides to complete the kit, and would rather wait instead of going through japanparts or the likes.
Thanks in advance! Searched and searched with no success. |
You could order them from subarugenuineparts.com. I'm pretty sure that they would sell them in the dealerships too since the series blue is out now.

The MSRP is more expensive than Japanparts, just that the shipping and customs will end up being couple hundreds more than buying from the dealer. I got mine from the dealer last month. The box will fit in a BRZ just be creative. :D

I have a friend at pacific subaru in torrance and he quoted me 1100 installed OTD for this STi lip kit...

You can get an estimate on Japanparts and I'm pretty sure with shipping it's some ridiculous amount (not even including the duties). For example, the front lip is around $100 less than dealer with Japanparts, but $240 to ship, plus duties. Getting it straight from the local Subaru dealer was a no brainer for me. The body kit is available for order at the dealer since early April and first shipment was early June, but not a lot of dealers knew how to order them because it cannot be done over the parts counter computer, it has to be ordered thru the Subaru dealer access website. |

None of the local Subaru dealers do not have them on their websites yet. Bummer.

Yikes. I went aftermarket with a "STi style" front lip and splats. Total price spent: $150. I'm sure the OEM quality is slightly better but those parts aren't even carbon fiber. |

How do you know it is slightly better than OEM? Did you compare two in person? |

3. Carbon fiber will crack like a mofo. Only if you scrape it all the time. Fun fact: so will everything else. 2. "How do you know it is slightly better than OEM?" ... I said OEM would be better. I hope it would be better then my ebay lip, otherwise you're getting ripped off. |

no.2 I had carbon and PU kit. Only god knows how many times I have scratched with PU kit, and still no cracks. lol. OEM kit is definitely better, and that does not even come to concern. Knock off parts are copied from OEM which many uncertainties in the dimensions are not taking into account when comes to production. |
I've seen knock off STI lip at the local meet, the corners DO NOT fit the front bumper properly it looks like it's about to come off lol! The finish on the real thing is amazingly high quality.
I've seen $900 real ABT Sportline carbon fiber lip / plate that is installed underneath the painted ABT front under spoiler of Golf GTIs and it doesn't crack even after years of crazy abuse (it'll look like crap tho, ABT Sportsline makes like $3000+ body kits and $6000 rims for VW/Audi cars). |

I hope the price difference justifies it. |

#2. Don't drive so bad and your CF kit would have lasted longer. #3. "and that does not even come to concern." Maybe save the $1,000 for some English lessons. :iono: |

Will this STI Lip Kit fit the 2013?

The body never changed. |
I bought the cheapest one on ebay. $69 shipped for just the front lip. Packaging was terrible, fitment was mediocre, and you definitely have to paint it. After a little bit of trimming, putty, and a coat of flat black paint I think it looks great.
http://gallery.ovr-scca.org/GetImage...800&Height=600 Personally, I'm normally a fan of OEM equipment, but in this case I'd much rather have something cheap because it's most likely going to get destroyed. I also race my car. Who knows how any of them will hold up to a cone at 50+ mph, so might as well be cheap to replace. If you're going to just drive it around then that OEM lip will look great. I also spent a lot of time once building my own lip for my MR2. Carefully sculpted it out of floral blocks and laid fiberglass over it. Looked beautiful. Until a semi tire took it out on the highway. Told myself I would never again spend that amount of time, nor will I ever get a carbon fiber lip. Absolutely love them, but if you use the car like the way a car is used, it will get destroyed eventually. |
subarugenuineparts.com has it for $974 + shipping for the STi lip kit...I may go this route and try to install it myself. I've seen the blue series upfront when I was visiting my friend at the dealer and I noticed they don't come pre-installed! It's installed when the customer buys it lol. Sry for being off-topic.
