Good, Cheap Exhaust for scion frs?

Hey im new to forums in general.
I was thinking of getting an hks legamax premium until i found out the price. Does anyone know good sounding exhaust that doesnt cost as much as the legamax?
:thanks:

peri.Laynz 07-20-2014 01:16 AM

No idea how much the hks costs but I'll always stand by the greddy evo3. Sounds so good and I get compliments at our meets all the time.

edeekeos 07-20-2014 01:17 AM

I think the Manzo and J2 stuff on ebay is pretty decent. Also Top Speed had some decent stuff.

Captain Snooze 07-20-2014 01:32 AM

You might like to post a budget to help people know what to suggest.

It cost a bit over $1000 :eyebulge:

BRZ_Kamil 07-20-2014 03:29 AM

noo greddy evo 3 you could get for 700$ if there having a sale, on touge factory about a month ago you could get it for 733$ with shipping

Bobblehead 07-20-2014 11:23 AM

Invidia N1's are popular. They go for around $600.

If you want cheaper, TopSpeed auto sells some decent stuff.

Or you can get a Nameless OP/FP combo. If you want loud, skimp out on the cat and resonator.

With a budget of that low you are probably best going to a local exhaust shop and having one custom built. Generally the prices are MUCH cheaper that way and you'll end up with a quality exhaust with less flanges to leak at.

B-R-Z 07-20-2014 11:33 AM

Going for sound, power, looks, or all 3?

You can always check out the classifieds for something used. Invidia N1 or Q300 are good choices.

Heres a couple:

Ive heard various clips of the Manzo and J2 exhausts and either of them sounds really good IMO. Seem to have a very smooth deep tone. 300-400 shipped on ebay for either of them.

peri.Laynz 07-20-2014 07:44 PM

If your budget is only 500, you'd be better off either saving for a GOOD exhaust or if you just want loud and don't care about performance just hack the muffler off.

hellyvin 07-20-2014 08:12 PM

may i suggest the berk dual exit muffler delete. it is only axleback, great sound, loud though. that's if you're going for sound only, doubt it makes power. the berk is only $300-400.

Erci 07-20-2014 08:25 PM

Works ABM (for street use). $400 including shipping. Seems to be a great way to go for sound (axleback) and slight weight reduction. Plenty of clips on youtube to give you an idea how it sounds. Posts on this forum with lots of pictures.

Mine is on its way :)

TruRace 07-20-2014 08:30 PM

Nameless track pipe w/ muffler if you don't mind the single exit look.$200

Muaddib 07-20-2014 08:40 PM

The only exhaust system that is within your price range is the Flowmaster cat back.

Covo_86 07-20-2014 09:35 PM

berk or nameless

irxproductions 07-21-2014 01:08 AM

I'm in the same boat where I'd like to get a decent exhaust around $500-600. I've found the below three options. Anyone in the know like to weigh in?

Invidia N1 Exhaust - $582.40 shipped

Greddy SP Elite Exhaust - $549.99 shipped

Flowmaster Exhaust - $498.00 shipped

I'd definitely like to hear everyone's preferences. Personally, I'm leaning toward the Invidia...

Let's not forget Buddy Club!

I have the manzo sounds great an the same as the greddy evo3 only 330shipped. Really can't tell much of a difference between them

Where have you seen an evo3 for 330? I'm gonna go buy all of them lol that's like 66% off

pretty sure he was referring to the Manzo being 330.

B-R-Z 07-21-2014 10:12 AM

How loud is the manzo? Is it anything like the Greddy SP Elite axleback?

In person i'm not sure, all the videos i've heard of it though it seems to have a really deep smooth tone which is what I am personally looking for. Granted I understand videos are hardly 100% accurate in their sound reproduction, IMO the manzo sounds better than some of these $800+ exhausts.

Lol I was saying manzo is 330 shipped that it sounds the same as a greddy but at half the price

Shady195 07-21-2014 10:53 AM

Also I am talking about the Manzo exhaust with dual mufflers, their is one that looks like the Greddy SP with a single muffler in the stock location that I have not heard any clips on but would love to if someone happens to buy it.

Can you post an exhaust clip? I'm assuming you have the single muffer with dual exit and not the dual muffer Manzo?

I'd love to hear it as I cannot find a clip with that particular exhaust

I have the manzo with two canisters

B-R-Z 07-21-2014 11:05 AM

With the manzo you lose the secondary cat though? This may be a deal breaker for my uel header and no cel plans

The secondary cat is on your front pipe not the midpipe.. I have the tsudo uel header

You have the tusdo header too right? How loud is it with a header? At somepoint I do want to get an UEL header and don't want something TOO loud.

Also any drone?

I want it louder but I still have the stock front pipe an over pipe. Yea there is some drone but its not annoying to me or my wife. I will try to get another video later. I paid 380 for tsudo thru semotors only took 1 day after it was shipped but I also live near cali and that was the same amount of time it took me for my exhaust. it actually quiets down a lot after the car warms up at idle but gives a nice lumpy note

Shady195 07-21-2014 11:34 AM

Where did you get the exhaust? same place?

I saw a few videos, it actually sounds really good, however I think it would be WAY to loud with an aftermarket header

He meant the Manzo is 330 and it's very similar to the evo3 lol. Proper grammar would have made it a lot easier to understand.
