Monthly payments?

Was wondering what you guys are paying monthly for these cars and if you gave a downpayment or not.

jflogerzi 05-27-2012 04:01 PM

If you want to stay around 300$ a month, expect to to need 8-10K down and a very good 60 or 72 month loan interest wise. What trim are you looking at?

BRZ4me 05-27-2012 04:03 PM

$388/mo w/$8,500 down - BRZ Limited MT
60mo @1.99%

*KID* 05-27-2012 04:26 PM

still lurking around my budget is from 0-$600 a month

388 x 60 = $23280 + $8500 = $31780. Obviously not the cash price, that's financed.

engee 05-27-2012 05:49 PM

In all honesty, you can get to whatever monthly payment you want if you change any factors of the loan.

At the end of the day, only pay what you are willing to pay, nothing more.

86design 05-27-2012 07:51 PM

man..i'm trying to find out what my payments would be...I would be happy in the 400-500 range.......I'm giving about $4500 down...so will see how that goes..but at least I'm getting the Premium

BRZ4me, is the 1.99% APR a special offer by your dealership? Given an excellent credit score, I hope 1.99% APR are offered by Subaru Financing to all areas/regions.

This was not Subaru financing. Dealer arranged financing.

Use the link in the reply directly below your question, or just search google for "loan calculator".

Some of the websites actually have a version of the calculator that lets you know what your payments will be if you begin making larger than necessary payments too.

There should not be a single number or penny you don't know about prior to walking into a dealership to buy any new car. That's why I have a grand total in my head and make a phone offer with "take it or leave it".

mechaghost 05-29-2012 02:02 PM

I did 5k down on Limited AT @ $29,045. 60 months apr 2.99 with BECU = $545 a month

Dave-ROR 05-29-2012 02:03 PM

FWIW I just got 1.94 for 60 months, financing 22.5K. Credit score is over 780 and DTI is <5%.

I'm not sure which bank that's with but I'll post that once I get the car today.

MRZ415 05-29-2012 02:06 PM

anything over 400 would be a bit high for me,
I need payments to be within 10% of my income (I don't make that much )

thill 05-29-2012 02:30 PM

Just make sure when you go shopping at the dealer that you never tell them you need a car at a specific payment per month..

100% agree, gives them FAR too much wiggle room to screw you over!

Disagree. Not in all instances

We told them we wanted to pay around 300 for my used 08 wrx with 8k miles on it. It was 25,5 at the time and with the 09's coming out with the better performance, I'm assuming they wanted to get the 08 off the lot and gave it to me for 17,9 to get right above 300.

Of course, if you tell them you can pay 550 for a 25,5 car, thats when you get screwed.

Oh and back on topic, I'm trying to do 6k down at 1.99. With a limited and TTL, that comes out to 433 a month.

Sorry, it's $495 a month hehe. I still havent paid the first payment yet so I thought it was a different value. I financed $27,500. Also I had to pay 2877.78 in taxes :)

Fenrir 05-29-2012 04:46 PM

Just FYI, my dealership informed me that new incentives are going to be announced (with some including the BRZ) on June 1st. I'd recommend waiting on securing financing until then if possible.

Tbxgz 05-29-2012 04:47 PM

You can get 1.99% from Pentagon Federal if you pay 20 bucks to join one of their partners. I called and got it set up in 15 minutes.

You must have added every option on the car to get that price. You're FR-S will be $34700 after it's paid off!!!

Chauntalei 05-29-2012 06:10 PM

I optioned the crap out of mine (lojack, permaplate, etc), put 15k down, financed 22k @ 10.39% (credit is crap) and I'm looking at 421/month.

Dave-ROR 05-29-2012 06:50 PM

395 a month, ~22.5K financed, 7250 down, BRZ-L, 1.94% interest for 60 months.

That was with Subaru credit (Chase bank).

There is a reason that most people with bad credit have bad credit... normally it has a lot to do with making poor decisions.

I see people like this all the time, doesn't even surprise me anymore, I work with a guy whose sister had a car (pt cruiser) at 27.95% apr from some buy here pay here place. Luckily for her, the insurance company dropped her after her... 4th accident and some other tickets so there is no more need for a car.

Never had an accident, but I have made some poor decisions almost 10 years ago, and my credit is drastically better than it was. It's not perfect, but I've never had an apr higher than my current 10.39. My BMW is currently at 8.5, and my last car before that was around 7-8% as well.

The main reason my payments are so high on my BRZ is because of all the extras I chose to add to take it above and beyond MSRP. Had I not, I'd be looking at payments around 300/month or so, if not less.

I'm glad that I work part time in the banking industry at my early age (right after high school) and I know a few important life-credit lesson.
1) Never pay minimum only for credit card
2) Always pay on time (I've seen ppl paid late charges near ten grand)
3) never withdraw cash using your credit card.
4) spend only when you can pay for it

That was with Subaru credit (Chase bank).

Good to know this. I did Subaru credit a while back when I bought my Impreza Outback.

Maybe I'll do this again since it is brand new. Last time I checked, my credit is over 700 so shouldn't be too bad.

I hope this is true. Picking up the BRZ next week. Hopefully by Friday the 8th.

Should need 720+ I'd guess, not sure what Chase sets their levels at.

NYC BRZ 05-30-2012 12:12 AM

Yea my dealer told me to wait about a week before my ETA on the 15th to fill our a credit app so they can see what they can get. I'm wondering of he knows about the June 1st BRZ rates.

blu_ 05-30-2012 12:55 AM

3.29% with Subaru finance. Credit took a big hit with 2 car loan apps in 1 year. Good reality check tbh. Financed 20.5k with payments of 315 a month over 72 months.

I think I'm going to make a goal of shedding $7k off that before I start modding. Time to tighten the belt for a bit.

i thought I was bad...

when I bought my Evo 10 back in 2008 I put $6k down 12.9 APR (bad credit) financed at $30k and I was doing $620/month :(

now I hope ill be in the $400/500 range...if my payments are over $580 I won't be able to get the car :(
