Hotchkis Springs/Megan rear toe arms/Stainless Steel brake lines
Aside from a few little cosmetic modifications (tinted headlights, redded tails) Hotchkis springs, Megan Racing toe arms, and Stoptech stainless steel brake lines were the first install.

Tomika intake tube/HKS drop-in air filter
Added a Tomika intake tube and HKS drop-in air filter. Sticking with a drop in for easy replacement in the future. I bought the Tomika tube because at the time it was one of the only tubes that you could keep the intake sound generator. I want to keep the noise generator because with your windows down and a helmet on (like on a track day) its way to hard to hear the car as is.

Cool. Curious to see what you want to do

Congrats on the new FR-S!
Any pictures of your S13's by chance? (S14 owner here) Nick C. |

Time to finally get rid of the awful stock tires and gaudy stock rims. I ordered four XXR 527 18" x 8.75" +35. These seemed like a great compromise or form and function. I also ordered four of the just released Dunlop Direzza Z102 in 235/40/18. The specs on my tires of choice aren't to impressive, but they are perfect for a street driven FRS.

Watkins Glen HPDE
Watkins Glen is surely one of the best tracks in the nation. I highly recommend it to any track addict.

Exhaust
Installed the Invidia Q300 with Invidia Catless resonated front pipe. I hear from other threads that only a header makes power. I want to go all out on the header and have the rest of the exhaust tame it down. Thinking the Openflash UEL header soon.
|
Nice looking S13 (always preferred the shark nose to the pig nose)
Have you looked at FT86Speedfactory's UEL header? Nick C. |
Quote:
I have and I like that header too. However I will be getting an OFT. I like that the OFT tune is designed particularly for the OFH. It seems inefficient to have a tune that was meant for one header (the OFH) and use another (even though they seem similar). It probably doesn't make any difference but it makes sense in my mind. BTW - I recently purchased Diode Dynamics fog light kit and it is a great quality part. I hated the blank spot where the fogs were supposed to go. The front end looks complete now. Just wanted to say thanks. Pictures to come. |
I have not been a fan of those wheels but the more I see them the more I like them. I am REALLY hoping to make it to a few track days this year. Woudl love to go to the glenn, just need the money/time off from work. Seems like the best bang for the buck vs spending 375 to do the day at LRP

Love Watkins Glen. I used to live in NY. How much did you pay for the wheels and tires together if you dont mind me asking?

Keep the pics/updates coming. I am sure that you will be extremely happy with the car once you get the header/OFT :D

Time flies
Time flies when your having fun. Just accomplished this on my way back from a touge run yesterday. 7/20/14

I did a quick touge run after work and couldn't avoid taking a picture while I was walking back to the car from grabbing a drink. Shows off the Diode Dynamic fog light kit I recently installed. Great product. I bought a series 10 fog light button and dash cluster so the on off switch is located in the same cluster the trunk opener is.

I installed the Cusco Lower Arm Braces yesterday. I had these bookmarked on my computer because I was going to look into what they would do for handling aspects. Before I could my girlfriend decided to get them for me for out anniversary (shes awesome). I cant see any way these help handling but they sure are beefier than the stock ones and they look nice too.

Installed the MTEC Shift Spring Kit. Seems to help out quite a bit. Its nice for quick shifts for sure. People seem to swear by it so I figured it was worth the $30 and the half hour install time.
|
Man I love the look of the xxr 527's but they're too freakin' heavy! D:
|
Both of those cars are so badass :w00t:

New Hawk PC pads and Stop Tech slotted rotors. The Hawk HP+ pads are by far the best pads I have ever used but they squeal like crazy on the street so they are going to be for track use only. I will be using the Hawk PC pads for street use.

She's in my dads garage for winter hibernation. This time next year I should be a home owner so this is the last winter in a garage I can't work on it in.

**Winter Update**
Shes still in storage but is gaining quite the pile of parts. Awaiting April are: OFT OFH Jon Motoring Over pipe Radium PCV catch can Motul Trans/diff fluid Stoptech slotted rear rotors Hawk HP+ rear pads Rain guards FT86 Speedfactory front splitter w/ race upgrade Setrab Oil cooler kit from Maximal Performance Coming soon. Raceseng Cas/cam plates Getting antsy to get back behind the wheel. I have been tired of winter since November. |
It was above freezing and sunny out on Saturday so I took the opportunity to install my Radium PCV oil catch can. Love the quality and super easy install.

Finally pulled the trigger on the Openflash Header!
Its bad when this forecast is exciting. I'm happy to be out of single digits. Looks like it may even be warm enough to install some of the pile of parts Saturday and Sunday. |

Just ordered the only remaining stock part on my exhaust. Jon Motoring over pipe.
|
Nice! Bummer it's so cold there, it's been 40-mid 60s for the past 2 weeks here!
|
Just scheduled my only track day at the Glen this year. They are paving the track starting in June. Pretty excited! April 27th with NASA.
|
New vanity plate.
Also thinking about manning up and ditching the Hotchkis springs and XXR wheels for some RCE tarmac II coil overs and 17x9 +35 RPF1s. I love the look of the XXRs but I think its time to start adding some more track related parts. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-R...o/IMAG0643.jpg |
Takumi788s Track/Street FRS
I confirm. All above told the truth.

Maximal Oil Cooler Kit installed.

Flushed the trans and diff fluid to Motul gear 300 75w90 fluids and pulled the trigger on the FT86 Speedfactory front splitter and race upgrade. Almost time to take her out of storage!
23,000 miles https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-O...o/IMAG0660.jpg Fresh start https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-R...o/IMAG0661.jpg |
Magnetic numbers for the track. Looks a lot more professional than painters tape. Ignore the mess of a garage. My dad is a pack rat. lol

What's your opinion on the wheels? Worth it? Did it make the car slower/ gain weight?

Nice build, we have some similarities between builds (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85018). I've built mine for touge and light track duty, but sadly have no tracks to play on. It's quite fun to go out on a cruise and hit some twisties and hang with "faster cars" and not break a sweat. Keep up the good work and I hope warmer weather comes your way soon!
