FBM FA20 Powered FRS Sets New World Record- 1/4 Mile in 10.3s With VID
 

We are extremely excited about this weekend's outcome. The car definitely has a 9 second pass in it once we take care of the traction issues. The track was colder than usual and the car was all over the place.

First pass = 10.98 @ 140 mph with 50% power applied

Second pass = 10.34 @ 116 mph with 80% power applied (letting off early since the car was all over the place)

Third Pass = 10.49 @131 mph

Overall, we are happy with how the car did considering there a lot more left on the table.

We have some ideas, but not sure yet. It's all about trial and error with a platform like this. Getting to where we are , was a mission in itself. There isn't a blueprint on how to get this car down the track fast.

We have learned ALOT this time out.

We have not totaled it all up but it is obviously not cheap. Please give us a call and we can go over options and all.

We did a 1.5 60 ft as well spinning all in 1st gear.

Whats the final drive on that rear diff?

I wonder if you made if any lower would you start loosing your trap speed more than gaining traction... are the drag radials semi inflated? What about thoughts of making suspension travel longer?

Trying to think of ways to improve traction...

We simply applied too much power down the track (not all of it either). This was the first time we ever got the car down the entire track. I have a lot of data to work off of and hope to lay it all down the next time out.

Maybe a big ass rear wing might help with downforce? The extra traction might outweigh the drag with all the power you're making.

Also what about going with bigger drag slicks?

I'm sure in the future we might get to that point. Everything on the car is pretty much bolt on parts. We didn't have to roll the fenders or pound anything in for clearance.

The goal is to get this car in the mid 9's the way it sits.

We have not, we are testing a big bore motor with a stage 3 head. The car has plenty of power the way it sits. The primary purpose of this car is for R&D. We hope to have it back out very soon.

I look to be following in your footsteps! Waiting on some funds to purchase your headers. Haven't installed that short block I bought last year.

Also just an fyi... my house was broken into and the thief stole my laptop with the ecutek key in it. Fml...

Thankfully they caught the guy but I can't get my property till the courts finish their stuff. Been about 2 months now should be finished in the next couple weeks.

I am trying to improve my ET and traction issues on the 1/4 mile and I hope you don't mind me asking. Besides the slicks and 26" slicks and coilovers, what other suspension mods do you have? Have you removed or upgrade any of the sway/roll bars? Have you upgraded any of the front/rear lower control arms or upper control arms?

Removing the sway bar didn't help me at all. Control arms should help cause these cars get negative camber when you launch which isn't good for traction.
