OFT Tune for OFH+Phantom ESC with 1.5 Dump Pack [Beta]

Hi guys,
Thanks to Rob and Phantom, we've been rocking the 1.5 dump pack on our shop FR-S. The extra boost necessitated some revisions to our single dump pack OTS maps. More fuel, a bit more timing, revised engine load limits, and some changes to open/closed fuel settings.

Those running the old single dump pack maps on their 1.5 dump pack set-ups will notice a nice bump in power and smoother overall performance-- especially in the low end. And especially in 6AT cars.

These BETA map are available for download HERE

Currently I have maps for 700C, 900C, A00C, A01C, 700D, 900D, A00D and A01D ROMs. I'll add support for B00C, B01C, B00D and B01D soon.

You will notice that both 91 and 93oct tunes are supplied. If you are an avid data logger, you can certainly try the 93oct tune if you only have access to 91oct. It only runs 1 more degree of timing under boost. Not that big of a difference. If you see excessive knock, you can drop back to the 91oct tune.

Please note that these are BETA maps. They have only been tested in our shop car. Feels great but they have not been tested in a wide sample of cars. So if you have any issues, please email me at shiv@vishnutuning.com.

If everyone enjoys the maps and provides me with datalogs and good feedback, I should be able to drop the E85 maps towards the end of next week :)

Have a great 4th of July weekend!

Cheers,
Shiv

shiv@vishnu Thank you very much!
I got my ofh and phantom coming hopefully end of the month.

1 quick question. you said: "The extra boost necessitated some revisions to our single dump pack OTS maps. More fuel, a bit more timing, revised engine load limits, and some changes to open/closed fuel settings"

I plan on running the 2.0 dump pack, I realize it could be optimized a little more, but this tune should be fine for the dual dump pack right?

You are THE MAN.

Nice! Thanks Shiv!

nlowell 07-04-2014 12:27 PM

Shiv, just to confirm, 6AT and 6MT load the same tune? Usually there was a separate tune file for AT vs MT and I don't see that in the zip.

Thanks!

Thanks!

The rom files that end with the letter C are for 6mt. D for 6AT. OF Manager won't let you load the wrong one :)

Cool, thanks! Learn something every day. All loaded up - going out in a bit for some logging.

As always, after your flash your ecu, start the engine and let it idle for a minute before touching the throttle or driving off. If not you may run into a no-VVT mode which feels sluggish.

Ok I'm flashed (haven't taken it out of the garage as the kids are home) - and I've requested dyno time.

If I do a base run or two with the ESC turned off, any issues running the new map (aside from probably a bit rich)? I'd rather not flash back to the OFH stage2 map if I don't need to.

Thx again Shiv!!

jflogerzi 07-04-2014 01:36 PM

Shiv is the man even on the 4th!

I would imagine accuracy as far as comparison goes would be an issue but as far as problems running it I'm not sure.

nlowell 07-04-2014 05:20 PM

Wow Shiv, these are some smooth tunes! The AFR spike under 4k is gone. I loaded the 91 tune and let the car run for a good 10-15 minutes before driving off. I don't see any knock so I bet I could go 93 if I added some Torco (not running any currently).

Wih this new tune and the openflash headers would the car run lean? If i understand it this tune is for stock headers?

No it is for openflash header users. If you have a stock headers you just don't get some of the benefits the header adds to the powerband. It still works with stock headers.

There is tuning to take advantage of the header...

Khyron686 07-04-2014 08:14 PM

Here's my first datalog ever, 3 3rd gear pulls with a 2nd gear at the end.

I didn't know you had to do something on the OFT to add boost - will do that next time.

http://datazap.me/u/khyron/2014-07-0...9&mark=347-252

The fact that it goes flat at AFR 11.02 makes me think the logging isn't catching lower - should I be concerned?

Probably not mine does the same. I think it is something with our altitude. We are just missing out on a little power because we slightly richer than we need to be.

Right, but every log I've looked at bottoms out at 11.02 which makes me think it's the OFT that's ignoring lower numbers which would be a pretty big bug. He also seems to have picked a ceiling of 20.67. You can still ping/break things running too rich (but like 10.x). If it goes richer, I would want to see it.

That's as far as our narrow band can read. Max resolution of the sensor.

Actually that's the lowest mapped value for the front O2 sensor, you could change it to read what you like. As standard the sensor is not mapped below 12 so that is where it would bottom out. However once you're anywhere into the 11 range it becomes inaccurate anyway and becomes more of a ballpark figure.

Here's a log of a 3rd gear pull. On the 93 tune, using torco to boost 91 up to 93ish. Looks pretty consistent with everyone else's logs.

Great work Shiv!

Want to say a big thanks to @shiv@vishnu on another quality tune. This tune feels stronger than the last which was already great :)

Shiv do you know why some of us up here in Calgary(specifically with ofh) are bottoming out the AFR when on boost?

I have to agree with everyone else and say this tune is fantastic. It's nice and smooth and feels like it has more power throughout the band.

I will be doing a third gear pull in a little bit.
