Who has TRD USA springs?
1 Attachment(s)
I've seen a few threads here and there over the last two years about TRD springs, with part numbers eventually popping up, and then stop-sales on the parts. All this confusion led to some people not wanting to wait and just get alternatives.
Attachment 83993 Well now that TRD springs are officially out and actually available to the public now (at least in the US), I'm wondering who has them now. They're supposed to be about an inch drop (slightly more) but I'm looking for owners who actually have them installed and can give their opinion on them. I already ordered mine and they should be there within the next week or so, but it'll be a few more weeks until I install them. If no one has them yet (I'd be surprised), I will do a review for them when I have them installed. Also let's make this a show off your ride with TRD springs thread. :) |
I have them. Bought them straight from the dealership.

I paid about $316 Canadian after the duty fees, taxes, conversion rates. Locally, I could get Eibach Pro-kits for $330 which was a discounted price, and TRD ones are rebranded Pro-kits anyway, and they're red :) |
I have them and love em. I posted my opinions in the link given in post #3 in this thread or you can go to KCWS.org where I have a thread dedicated to the install and my opinions.
Bottom line tho... They are great! |
i just bought a set from Wilson Toyota in Bellingham. I'm located in Vancouver, BC and us canadians usually get trd parts pretty late. i found them on sale at toyotaterritory.com and was able to get the local dealer to get close to cost. Took less than 24 hours to get them in shop.
I should have them installed sometime this month! woo hoo! |

Doesn't take long to google and find people with TRD springs in the Suspension sub-forum.

Interesting, if the TRD springs are what everyone claims them to be -- rebranded Eibach Pro-Kit -- why would anyone buy the Eibachs? The TRD springs should retain warranty and they are less expensive. Do the TRD springs come with new bump stops like the Pro-Kit does? Edit: and with this info in mind I am considering putting my BRZ on TRD springs. I was, and really still am, considering RCE yellows, but for a bit less and retaining my warranty I can go with these and probably not notice much of a difference in my DD. |
TRD springs are not aggressive. They are going to be about 0.5-0.75" drop. No accessories needed. They are a good upgrade if you want to retain your stock struts and get a sporty drop.

They claim a 1 to 1 1/8" drop. Is there a different set of TRD springs, maybe from Japan that are more like the STi Pink springs? It would be really odd if the US TRD springs claim a 1" drop but only really do 0.5 to 0.75. I could see 7/8 of a drop, like many people have measured from the Eibach Pro-Kit, but to be 1/4 to 1/2" seems a bit too much variance. |

Inception thread jack, I'll be in Houston next week on business if you still didn't sell it |
Just installed my TRD springs and put my wheels on. Only a 2 finger gap left, originally was 4!! Love the way it looks now. And my suspicious was confirmed. These springs are rebranded Eibach Pro Kits. The new bumpstops had Eibach branding on them.
