Dogs & FR-S?
How many of you are going to allow your dog(s) to ride with you in the FR-S?
I have a 40lb German Shepherd/Boxer mix that will be riding shotgun or possibly in the back with the seats folded down. From looking at the front seats it seems that they will be easy to vacuum so I'm not too concerned about covers. Anyone planning on bringing your canine friends along for a ride? I'd like to hear your ideas for keeping the inside protected from the dog. :D Thanks! Rob |
Not for at least a year, then maybe our Golden Retriever can possibly get in the back :)

I'm not letting humans ride with me. Throws off the weight balance of the car.

I don't let my dogs in my sentra, sure as hell not in my brz! I get pissed when the wife does it, I'll divorce her if it happens to the new car. :)

avoid dirtying the seat by putting a towel, blanket or seat cover over it whenever your dog rides with you.
Trust me when i say this, but dog hair is an absolute PAIN IN THE BUTT to remove from car fabric..... |
My 15 year old lab mix won't. She could not get into my xB without help. Once I get my project truck running, she will have her own ride!

I've had my black ****er spaniel ride a couple of times. She loves car rides :)

my boxer is my copilot. if i say "wanna go for a ride?" he'll sprint to the door, sit and wait until i open the door and he hops in. sometimes he thinks he's funny and hops over to the drivers seat while im walking around the car and gives me a "i didnt just hop into your seat" look. any other dog id say hell no, but he's mi compandre

I had a Shepherd, Husky and Rott mix as my copilot for 12 years in my Toyota 88 pickup with bench seat. We drove all over the US together. I also had a shell, either he would sit on the bench riding shot gun or in the right back corner of the bed sticking his head out the window. If he was here today, I don't think he could fit in the front seat or backseat (Up or Down) comfortably. Big dogs are meant for trucks. RIP Homer

Ace's initial impressions... (No car paint was scratched in the making of this photo. He's a gentle dog)

Clazzio, is the best...but...

I wish they'd hurry and get them produced and tested!! The Clazzio covers are the BEST and makes seats look factory leather, without the hassle of actually getting them re-upholstered. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3112/2...082ce024_b.jpg Mocha addicted to fish and not gaurding house anymore. by Moto@Club4AG, on Flickr http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4098/4...eb887b0d_b.jpg Can we have that cookie now? by Moto@Club4AG, on Flickr http://www.clazzio.com/gallery/images/honda/crz1.jpg This one is for a Dodge, but they do similar work for many cars. http://img1.garitto.com/data/shop/73...b86c5.C480.jpg |

Awe you have a frenchy too. I have a French bulldog and a Boston terrier. I will let them ride after they've been walked a dozen times around the block lol I don't need any accidents. |
If my labs go in the at it will be in the back. I don't want them going through the windshield if we get into an accident.
I wouldn't let a person I don't like ride without a seatbelt in the front. Why would I let my dog? |

I would keep the dogs in the back seat for their safety. God forbid you get in an accident, the airbags are not intended for Canines, and might do more harm than good even with a harness on them.
That being said, my Dog can ride in the Tundra or the Sienna. My FR-S is for people only :D |
I bought an old truck for the dogs, planning ahead for my FR-S. Those little hairs are impossible to vacuum out. It's not just the seats, but the back of the front seats and the ceiling. Then they scratch doors, dash, and other parts when they climb in and out. One gets carsick as well.
In the truck, I debate about the passenger airbag, better for the dogs to have it on or off? |
i dont think the seat fabric are dog friendly, let alone the space. Still, nothing a big towel can fix.

I dont want to but if I have to then yes. My two German Shorthairs ride great in the car but their hairs are like needles in fabric :P I mean they burrow DEEP into the fabric. The last thing that I want to do is spend countless hours with tweezers getting their hair out of a car that has no room to manuever in :P
|
Back seat down, blanket, and push the front seat forward so he can stick his head out!
