Since one isn't started ive decided to start a thread.. Im in the Panhandle Fort Walton beach area looking to caravan with some people.. I saw a couple people from florida was interested in going to the EXPO and im attending for sure. Hopefully we get get a badass caravan going!

No way I will be able to get off work on August.

Sucks to hear that guys.. im currently deployed too. Afghanistan.. im ordering parts and going to have 7 days to install them and get my ass up there haha. I get back around Aug 1st ishhh.

I'm deploying next month :/. We should try to make a cruise or something happen when I get back (Around Feb probably). Thanks for the invite anyway!

I'm assuming you're taking 10 to 95 and then heading north? I'm in South Florida and plan to go, but I doubt I'll head that far off-route to caravan.

I plan on driving straight east untill i can find a good place to meet the guys coming up. Ive only lived in florida 2 years now and dont know a good spot to meet up on that side of florida.. so let me know where a good place for all of us to meet up and im down to drive the extra miles.

Thanks for the mention, but I'm not in the panhandle anymore. I've moved to Atlanta now. And with my new job, unfortunately, I dont think i will have the vacation days (to say that with a new job, i dont have any at the moment..x.x) to make it up for this years 86 expo :(

What do you mean off-route? What route are you taking that doesn't involve I-95? Aren't you heading straight up I-95?

It looks like we could take the boring route up I-95 or the route through Atlanta and up through the mountains on I-85.

Yep at least to get out of Florida it's a straight short north on I 95. But he is west quite a bit so I wouldn't take I-10 west to then head to VA. But I am game for any fun route after I get out of FL.

Im honestly down for whatever i have 2 weeks of leave that im taking and this is in the middle.. I love to drive.. no matter how long the distance. Ive actually never done any "famous" routes like the dragon tail.

In for this as well if we can hit it.

Maybe we can all meet up there and complete it then caravan over to the event?

So I don't know how practical it would be as we would be adding another day into the trip. But it maybe be worth it. What do you guys think?

haha its by no means practical.. 14 hour trip into a 20 hour trip haha. 20 hour trip + tail of the dragon..

Edit: Come to really think about it.. i think im just going to go straight up there, or straight east and meet the South FL guys coming up.

So 14 hours straight up or stopping half way through?

Well driving straight through would mean starting at afternoon and driving through the night. Which i doubt most people could even do. So if we do caravan i think itll be wise and most people would agree to stopping halfway there.. I can make the drive in one shot myself.. but i lovvvveeee long distance driving lol.

Had the pleasure of meeting some of you a couple of years ago when I was on Vacation in Miami. Dave's car was so spoiled it was under a tent. LOL. Anyway just thought I give y'all heads up that myself and 5 or 6 of the Ottawa crew are heading down for east coast EXPO86 and hope we can meet up for a few pops. I know it's a commitment guys but hey gotta support the cause or it just goes away. Have met too many good people to let that happen. Anyway my 2 cents, hope to see you all in August. We're heading down on Friday and returning Monday. :cheers:

So there are these things called aircraft... $250+ in gas or $370 for a flight. hmmm haha. But really I don't even foresee myself planning this far ahead for something like this expo. I'll have to revisit this idea later. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

well the thing is.. its kinda an 86 expo... so the point is to bring your car lol.

Wish I could go. That's the week I'm moving all my stuff up to Virginia. I wasn't planning on towing the FR-S but driving it up later but I may have to entertain the idea to make the expo.

Lots of good hotels (All at motel prices) in the area that are relatively close to Sundays event. I would suggest the following:

So i am officially going. And i plan on taking 10 to 95 to meet the people coming from South Florida. Im bringing a passanger with me.. Who is officially coming up from South Florida?

So, it looks like Jacksonville will be the place to meet. What time do we all want to meet in Jacksonville and where? Also what day are we looking at?... the 8th?

The 8th does sound good for me, takes about 9 hours to drive ( google maps ) from Jacksonville, FL to Pungo, VA. Get a hotel for the 8th and 9th and im leaving after the car show on the 10th. Id probably say on the 8th meet up around 10 or 11 AM. Get there around 7 or 8. Find a hotel and get some good sleep for the Auto-X.

If you are interested in entering 86EXPO Car Show registration is free! Only require info we need are:

• You name
• FR-S or BRZ
• Mod lists (doesn't have to list ALL the list)
• Pic (minimum of ONE photo is required)

Please PM these info to @Guff.

We're looking give or take about 20 FR-S and 20 BRZ due to space. If we have more than 10 each registered, we'll be choosing the 10 FR-S and 10 BRZ from the list (sorry).
