Shop Intro:

Equilibrium Tuning has been in business for over 7 years and I have personally been tuning cars of all kinds for over 12 years. We have always specialized in maintaining, building, and tuning Subaru's GT-R's, BMW, and now I have fallen in love with the FT86 platform. We do everything from general maintenance, basic bolt-on mods, complete engine builds, brakes, suspension, exterior, and of course custom dyno tuning. We run out of a state of the art 5000sq ft. facility with an AWD chassis dyno and all the equipment we need to do anything you guys want for your cars.

We have been building some of the fastest cars in the bay area and all of our employees are major car enthusiasts who love what they do and take great pride in their work. We also pride ourselves on the absolute highest quality standard when it comes to our work as well as our customer service. Weather we're building a 1200whp, 8 second GT-R, a 500whp STI track monster, a Turbo FT-86, or just doing a basic fluid service... all of our customers are valued equally and get the best quality work and customer service you will find anywhere. We always stand behind our work and do our best to make every single customer happy with their cars. This is the attitude that has made our business successful and allowed us to continue to grow into new and exciting markets.

My personal entry into the FT-86 platform started when I picked up my own 2013 BRZ as a fun project/shop car. The car now has an SBD Turbo kit and is running E85 making around 400whp. This car is being used for major R&D and is being tested in grueling track conditions as well as daily driving to make sure I get my tunes dialed in for anything my customers can throw at the car! This is the most fun car I've owned and I plan to continue to innovate and develop the platform indefinitely as I turn my shop car into a track beast :).

Sweet. It's an easy job now too. I got an extra set of UCAs so you won't even have to disassemble the suspension. Haha. I'll find some time to come out there once baseball tounrney season is over.

Not yet. I will have them before I install the new rear UCA so I can just do it all at once.

its good to know that there is a place that has experience with our cars.. will definitely check this place out when i have 6k to spend ;]..

Neal, Im thinking of selling my AT Frs, so i may want to go back to stock. Can you please give me a quote for how much it take to take out the Vortech SC,UEL header, stand coilover, and TrD exhaust system? I have all the stock parts. please let me know asap. thx :)

I had a great experience with EQ Tuning installing my SBD Turbo. Neal did a great job on the installed. All the guys at EQ were really cool, friendly and helpful. Tom help installed/wired up my gauges and Ed will be loading the base map for Ecutek for me when I switch over. From the experience I had with them I would recommend this shop.

I didn't think the ride and handling could get better but it was a great ride home on the KW-V3s. I'm loving it!

The tune is great! So far so good. Haven't had much time to drive it yet and test it out. But driving back home and doing some pulls it felt really good and solid. :w00t:

I'll keep you posted as I do more driving this weekend. But so far very happy with Ed's tune. Thanks again Neal.

Just got my clutch installed by EQ Tuning. Neal did a great job on the install. Felt good driving it home. No more slip but still breaking it in.

Development continues on my BRZ :). The tune is really starting to come together, then its flex fuel and GO!

I finally got a chance to do some tuning on my BRZ. Switched it over to speed density since it was maxing out the MAF and spent a couple hours on the dyno last night. Not too shabby for 10-11psi and Cali 91 octane. Next up, E85!

It was pouring rain last night so I couldn't get on the power at all on the roads. This morning things dried out a bit so I finally got a chance to play with the car. This thing is a beast! Pulls really hard to redline, lots of mid range torque, and drives super smooth throughout. The best part is I was able to keep the tune on the rich side to keep things cool and safe :).

Got the car on E85 yesterday... a little road tuning and now it won't hook up at all in 2nd and a good chunk of third! Time to get it on the dyno and see what kind of power its making. Also, new tires coming tomorrow :)

Got a little show car in today for some clean-up and a custom tune. This is an FR-S with an AVO Turbo Kit on 91 Octane at 8psi. The car came in running the AVO base map which was running terribly. I tried to do a baseline pull but had to abort it as the a/f was in the 13's in boost! After a nice tune, the car made good power and drives and feels nice and smooth. Look out for this car in a magazine feature soon :)
