KWv3 Max low
 

Can anyone with v3s chime as to how low you can go on these coils?

I want a look like this:

Is it achievable with these coils, and if so, what offset should i go for?

are you planning on driving the car at that height all the time?

yes. is that height really that impractical? I want a slight, slight bit of tuck.

Nothing is too much if you're willing to adjust your driving style and where you go.

You may not enjoy Toronto winters, though ;)

the height in the photo is beyond impractical and I would argue borderline hazardous.


of course you'd still be able to drive the car... so I'd be up to you.

I drive pretty low, but I'm On BC Racing Extreme drop. (I know it doesn't answer your KW Question just showing it's not hard to drive). Harder to get on an alignment rack haha. I can show you on request. People say you have to completely adjust. I mean the only thing I adjust to if pulling in and out of shopping plazas on to a road and in all honesty if I scrape anything it's the middle of the car.

Why are you looking at V3's if you want to slam it? Unless you spend a lot more on geometry correction it's going to handle like crap, so why spend extra on the V3's?

You would probably need lowering top mounts to get that low with V3s.

FWIW I would not be able to drive a car that low where I live in the city. Possibly if I adjusted my driving style, but I don't want to.

I'm lowered 1.6" on them and my wheels are pretty tucked in the fenders with about 1 and a half finger gap. I would not go lower than this even though it allows it. These are the nicest riding coilovers while lowered I've had yet. I absolutely love them. I managed to keep my whiteline LCA's just about parallel in the rear too after lowering. I'm running some pretty wide wheels/tires though, 18X9.5 squared with 245/35.

I'm using Myles settings he posted in a thread about recommended V3 settings on the FR-S/BRZ to start out with. It's pretty spot on with the ability to adjust a little bit here and there if you need.

I'm honestly surprised that's considering slamming it.

I thought a little tire tuck would be easy to do...

some people like to cruise, mostly on days with nice weather, and stick to the main roads


I drive all year round in all manner of terrain at whatever speed is necessary. I don't slow down for curbs, one-wheel most speedbumps without dropping pace, don't let roadkill sweat me, or anything of that sort.




stance and hardparkers are gonna stance and hardpark, but I could never "drive" at their pace, I'd go nuts.

For a car with less than 5" of ground clearance stock, a 2" drop is making it VERY low to live with.

let me chime in here as i had v3's on my BRZ. at my lowest height i had no gap in the front and was almost tucking tire (i have 265's). i recommend other suspension ad ons if you want to drive the car at that height and have any kind of good handling characteristics.

now, driving this car low isn't that hard, just angle EVERYTHING. with that said, KW isn't really hte slam your car coild over, as posted above get taiwanese stuff for slamming a car.

with all that said, the v3's will get you pretty low, i had maybe another 1/2" to go in the front if i wanted to be cool

the frs you posted looks like its on 17's though. i'm on 18's with a big tire (i dont believe in stretch)

p.s. my kw's are actually for sale if you're looking for a good deal/a mint set. look up my threads if you have more questions, i was running whiteline com-c tophats, with other tophats you will probably be able to go lower...

You will be good with KW V3. Looks at mine. I even have a body kit, which affects front clearance.

You will be good if you just want your car looks like the one in the pic. You can drop more, and you will not have any problem once you learn how to drive a dropped car.

For wide front tires you need more negative camber, so u might need top mounts.

The KW V3 can go really low if you use your stock uppermounts. If you go with aftermarket uppermounts you might lose some drop. My suggestion would be to go with a manufacturer like RCE who has likely designed their mounts to retain suspension travel rather than limit it.

no, you dont need aftermarket top hats, all of mine have been OEM (group-N)

This is with stock top hats and rear LCAs, so no camber adjustment.

I just put RaceSeng CasCam plates on the front and SPL adjustable LCAs on the rear and I'm hoping to get an alignment this weekend. The show stopper will be whether or not my car can get on the alignment rack.
