New Turbo Option - Lachute Performance
Should be released today, stay tuned.
http://www.lachuteperformance.com/cache/0x0/tesaer.jpg UPDATE: http://www.lachuteperformance.com/ca.../turbokit7.jpg http://www.lachuteperformance.com/ca...awdercoat2.jpg seems well built; for those who don't know Lachute, they are a very solid company specialized in subaru vehicles, in business for years and with great success in motorsport. http://www.lachuteperformance.com/en...bo-kit-stage-1 essentially, 315-325 bhp, $6999 |

Looks interesting.

You're looking for the Forced Induction sub-forum.

Looks like most of the other front high mount turbo setups other than the fact they REALLY like flex joints. I don't think that turbo is clocked in the right direction either, haha.

Maybe it's the traditional Subaru location behind the motor?

Interested to see what a Canadian company has for us. My curiosity has been peaked
|
I've seen the kit myself and the turbo is clocked that way.

I'm not seeing $7k.
MAF flange location looks iffy, turbo clocking is funky, joints are mediocre, welds look mediocre.. EDIT: It doesn't cut the crash beam, which is a plus. There are only a couple kits that maintain the crash beam integrity. If I were dropping $7k, it would be on PTuning. But, that's just my opinion. :iono: |
I like what they are going for, routing wise.
|
This is exactly what we needed!

Just another Full Blown clone. Looks like they tried to mount the turbo as close to the engine and belts as possible versus Full Blown trying to mount it as far away as possible and closer to the radiator though. I would buy from LJ @FullBlown .
|
IMO the PT tuning kit is a really reasonable choici. Turbo is far from anything that need to be cool. It has a lot of pinping tho...
|
7k? For 315 to 325 bhp? Jeez. Seems a little pricey compared to all the other options out there...

I hear flexjoints on exhaust manifolds are ALWAYS a good idea... or was that the other way around.
|
I agree that theres alot of clones out there, but you can only mount a turbo in this engine bay in only a limited number of ways.
That being said, I would like to see moar low mount turbo setups plez. |
Another top mount

It's a turbo kit. I think they went with some alternative routing to keep the air filter in a good spot, but it makes things a bit convoluted. If you don't want to cut the beam, I'd go with FBM or P&L. They are proven kits and available for much cheaper.
|
i'd NOT buy this kit, and <nothing>
|
Seems like a lot of unnecessary flex joints. Wouldn't it move around too much?
|
I really want to see some one do a low mount turbo with a v mount rad/FMIC but theres no way that would work would ditching and cutting half the front of the car.
The rad would go on the top of the V and the fmic on the bottom part allowing for really short piping to the fmic and manifold length since the turbo is also bottom mounted |
V-mount FMIC/Radiator?
