Anyone had theirs faster?

tahdizzle 06-09-2014 05:46 PM

No.... Everytime i hit 88 I end up in some other time period :(

LANEY487 06-09-2014 06:35 PM

138. but i mean who needs to go that fast.. too many other idiots on the road to deal with running 90 and swerving lanes in texas or slowing down to a complete stop then turning.. lol

humfrz 06-09-2014 06:49 PM

WOW - that's moving right along!

MT or AT?

What rear end ratio .. ??

Where on earth did you do that ..... :eyebulge:

Carlitoz3 06-09-2014 06:59 PM

130 :)

Nm86 06-09-2014 07:23 PM

Ooo yea 208kph. Yours must be broken if it only does 157. But seriously I'm hoping this was on a track.

SalM 06-09-2014 07:25 PM

105 fastest I've ever pushed it NA. Now that boost coming soon its a whole different story ;)

I don't know of any track with a straight long enough for an 86 to hit 157 mph. :p

Doesn't have to be all straight. I hit 127 at the Charlotte motor speedway.. was still pulling.. but I couldnt hang with those 33 degree banks so i let up going into them.. next time.

Have you seen how slowly the 86 creeps to 144?

You would need a 5 mile down hill straight to hit 157. Unless he has much more power than a stock 86. MUCH more.

14BRZ 06-09-2014 10:41 PM

146mph NA. Now that it has a turbo, i'll redline 6th sometime to see what it tops out at with stock gears :D

Dipstik-sportech 06-09-2014 10:43 PM

154mph but it was dark so I chickened out. Should top just over 170mph on stock gearing

NissanGuy 06-09-2014 10:53 PM

Did you drop it from a helicopter?

CO777DAL 06-09-2014 10:54 PM

I regularly do 125 mph on 635 from Preston to Royal-Walnut Hill/635 and vice versa. It is 6 lanes wide plus 2 express lanes. If you get on the Express Lanes at Preston headed east you can really fly. :burnrubber::burnrubber:No one is ever one the express lanes. Nice clear stretch from Preston to Greenville. Speed limit is 70mph but you can easy do 110 mph to 120 mph and not worry about hitting anyone. Express Lanes have concrete dividers from the rest of the lanes.

Demandred7 06-09-2014 10:54 PM

In my FR-S - 137 mph, but, only momentarily. Around my neck of the woods, 31 mph more than the posted speed limit is license losing territory if caught.

I assumed his car is FI .. I doubt stock would get there..

Indeed. It seems to struggle hard over 120.

frslee 06-09-2014 11:40 PM

Be careful driving that fast. Hit an unexpected bump or animal shoots out at you, you're gone from this world immediately.

GT/86 06-09-2014 11:52 PM

I hit 142 mph on a BMW 740LI :-)

Rio 06-10-2014 12:43 AM

Dumb!

Speeding at that degree in public roadways is reckless and dumb! It's not about your driving skill alone. It's about the fact that anything goes wrong, including a freaking tiny bump on the road and you are toast! Not to mention the possibility of killing someone else.

If that's your question, then you need a sport bike! Then again, perhaps not!

Current Sport bike is a K1300s, it's faster than my brz, tho I have had my previous gsxr 750 even faster yet.

Oh, this was back on a Stock rear end, stock header, vortech with wastegated 2.87pulley z rated tires ground control race suspension and ds2500 pads with up rated fluid and some ethanol

Chattanooga FR-S 06-10-2014 09:32 AM

I made it to 205mph once... while doing a head down skydive. I'd be scared to go that fast in a car!

145 thru the trioval in my turbo cobalt was sketchy... 135 thru 3 and 4 4 wide was 100% terrifying lol

We had the infield road course open so we didn't have all the oval for high speed. Coming out of the infield onto the apron and up on the bank was tricky.
Was my first time on a banked oval.. So I was afraid going into the bank too fast I would either rise too high or go too low.
My friend took me around in his modified vette at an indicated 165 mph..
The thing stuck like glue going around the track.. I thought I was going to throw up.. The most G forces I ever experienced.
Looking forward to my next time out there..

Roadcone 06-10-2014 03:51 PM

"single file no passing" during the black friday charity laps turns into MURICAAAAAA after you hit turn 3 on lap one lol. i think i passed 14 people in one lap. I wish i had a video from the infield of me at 5500rpm at 21lbs of boost in that car with a 3" turboback straight pipe haha. I pushed those 235 super sports to the limit lol

Demandred7 06-10-2014 07:05 PM

Came close to your speed in an Acura RSX Premium at 150 mph, but, ran out of steam and the steering was getting too light for comfort (not to mention if I sneezed, I'd be done). Never have gone that fast again.

PHLonomenal 06-11-2014 09:36 AM

145mph in my dearly departed 2011 M3 Competition Package...it had PLENTY more. This FR-S is as much fun though just different in how it goes about it.

Well I did 181 in a 911t but it's not an 86 so who is counting that?

Purdue FR-S 06-11-2014 01:01 PM

Have flirted with the upper end of 130's.

On an interstate that wasn't yet completed (didn't connect to nearby major city yet). Thus, no one was on it at the time :)

StRacngtC06 06-11-2014 01:14 PM

Its really awesome how comfortable and smooth 110 feels in this car..

Stock wheels/tires?

I struggled to get my Type-S to 137, while my older '00 Si hit 140mph with the giant drag inducing wing attached(145mph w/o wing).

And yes, the Si was much more stable at those speeds.

In case anyone doubts your gearing statement:

Dipstik-sportech 06-11-2014 09:13 PM

So I guess my math was correct. With my raised rev limit I should be at 173ish with the stock rear end ratio

juliog 06-11-2014 09:22 PM

GPS measured 130 MPH on the FR-S on an oval track.. about redline on 5th gear with stock gearing.

troek 06-11-2014 09:33 PM

i hit about 140 on the strait at fuji. its climbing reeeaaly slow at that point, hitting 6th gear realy bogs down. i think with a long enough road you could hi 150 na. although, this is all speedometer indicated which is never accurate.

itdansharpe 06-11-2014 10:28 PM

I love how this turned into a willy comparison contest! well.. I've done 189 on a 2013 GSX-1300R. Truthfully, the most exciting 'metric' I've ever compared was 95-200kph. My last car, a modified 335i would run this range in about 12-13 seconds. My friends GMC Duramax did it in about 8, which pissed me off, so I went out and did it in 4. :)
