Will the BRZ be your daily driver
Are you planning on using the BRZ as your daily driver? If so, tell us what area of the country you live, I'm sure some of us are curious if there are others planning to drive this year round in some of the snowy parts of the US!
Yes, DC area, not much snow the past couple years. I'll drive my Impreza if/when it does snow.
Nope, just weekend driving fun.
yes it will be driven daily, (ha it hasn't snowed down here in years)
I'll be driving around New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Madisonville... hoping to be the only DGM in the area with an under spoiler... personalized plate will read "SCHEIBE" |
I'll drive the car frequently enough, but it's not going to be an everyday commuter car. I've got an old Honda that will serve for a while longer.
The BRZ will be too special to me to drive every day... at least at first.. I would cringe about door dings and putting tons of miles on the car just to get to work and let it sit in the parking lot. Plus, I won't be driving a rwd car in the winter unless we have some really nice warm days (like most of this past winter). So the BRZ is going to be for weekend/evening enjoyment, autocross, car shows/meets, some non-family trips (due to space limitations), etc.. |
Daily driver baby. I have 99 RS right now so as soon as I get a BRZ I want to set the RS up for the Oregon Trail Rally
DD, year round, in New England.
Year round DD in central OH with a trip each winter to MA and back. I don't foresee any issues. But worst-case, I'll pick up a cheap Impreza for snow slogging. However, I lived in New England before moving out here and I spent 9 winters with RWD cars. So I don't think I'll need another car.
Car will be used as Weekend Warrior and when I just don't feel like driving the STI. STI will be the main DD and exclusive car in the Winter here in SW Michigan.
Yep, and it's going to get winter driven. Hard :)
Daily, and I will be ordering some winter wheels and tires later this year... same as I've done with the STI.
Daily Driver? Possible! If I sell my FWD 06 Scion tC. I'm thinking bout keeping it though for those snow & rainy days in New Jersey, being thats its paid off. And keep the BRZ in the garage when I get my new place.
yes! this isn't a fancy car... mine is going to get dings, dents, and be parked on the street 100% of the time. But I'm in SoCal.
When I am not on the bike, the Breezy will be the DD. That's the point of this car, and that's the best way to honor the engineers and testers who put the time in ensuring the car is rugged enough for the task. I will enjoy the hell out of the car, all year :)
I'm not getting a car to make payments on if I'm not driving it.
This won't be a garage queen for me and I live in Mass. Any dents, dings, scratches will be fixed if they are noticeable. I never park next to other cars in narrow parking spots and I park my car away from cars and carriages at the supermarket. That's pretty much common sense. |
Driving in Massassachusetts all year 'round. It'll be fun to throw a set of Blizzaks on and tear up the snow! light, balanced RWD with Torsen limited slip? AWESOME.
Yes, dd for me. Southern ny with no garage either. Don't worry, I plan on keeping it very clean. At least car washes once a week, more in the winter! And my job is only 8 miles from home, pretty much a straight drive there too, that gets plowed pretty fast.
Yes, this will be my daily driver. If the early estimates on mpg I'm hearing hold true for me, it will be a better commuter car than my current DD, and a helluva lot more fun at the same time.
Forgot to mention, I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, so the only weather I'll have to deal with besides sun is the occasional rainstorm. |
this will be my daily all year except for winter. i'm more concerned with road salt damaging the body than anything.
Nope, ordered my car cover and have a everyday beater for anything that involves not being a "fun day"

Daily driver in lovely ::haha:: New York City. Queens to be precise.
Yes, when it's nice weather. I have my A4 & VehiCross for when the weather gets ugly.
I work at a dealership with a wash bay so I'll be washing my car religiously in the winter time. I also plan to garage it, if I can find storage for my MR2 and Z. I just hope the town next to mine fixes some of their f***ing potholes before it starts snowing again! There's two sections of road where I've blown tires and cracked/bent wheels, and they just keep patching them over instead of re-paving the damn road.
The BRZ will be my DD over here in the North East Region.

NH has plenty of bad spots too, but they're due to frost heaves so I can kinda understand. Down here it's due to the fact that our state government blows goats and leaves no budget for infrastructure.

Whenever you drive into MA you don't need to look for the signs to see when you crossed the border, you will feel it. |
DD, year-round, living in New England. Looking forward to picking out some great snow tires!
My bicycle is my DD most of the time, followed by my 08 Sentra. My wife drives either the Sentra or her 96 Dodge 1500. Long trips are in my 06 MegaCab.
This car is for pure fun by myself or just the wife, sorry kid's! |
yup yup. The Legacy comes in for the snow and massive monsoons we get here in Seattle. Everything else is for the BRZ.
Gosh, that Legacy just eats up gas! |
Except on days when I take the bus, bike, or carpool, it'll be my daily driver.
I've driven many RWD vehicles during winters in hilly western MA without any incidents, even making it a point to drive through the worst storms in my MX5 because it's even more fun in the snow than my WRX was! Just get snow tires and don't be stupid: mind your following distance and speed (especially downhill and in corners) and pay attention. And wash off the salt frequently. |
Thinking about it but, I drive 66 miles to get too work; then 66 miles to get back home...
I'll prob keep my old car and do a 3 days old car, 2 days brz split until I move down to where I work. Then I'll daily drive it and sell my old car. |
Will most likely be my daily year round. At least it will sit in the garage when I'm home.
I'm debating on keeping my Civic. |
sort of..
It will be my only car (my wife has a car too though), so it could be called a DD it that sense. However when it comes to my commute it goes bike > motorcycle > car I have not driven a car to work in a long ass time. |
9months of the year it will be DD. Winter it will be in the garage.

Yes it will, and I intend to take random driving trips after work again as I used to do when I had a car I enjoyed driving more than my current one...
