Enlighten me!

Hey guys! Got my 2014 Subaru BRZ exactly a month ago and I'm loving it!

I wanted to ask you guys to just tell me any cool details (mechanical, cosmetic, safety blah blah blah) or any cool stories you have had with the car (and what you have modded) include pics!

I'm so happy I got this car, and I am extremely happy to join the 86/BRZ community 😎

:D

I was happy to find out I could make both doors unlock with proximity by holding buttons on the key fob. Tried it on my Mom's toyota Rav4 and she was fanatic :bonk:

The little things.

Slow? It's all about driver's skill.

"It's not about power. If you can't go fast with 90 horsepower, 900 ain't gonna help ya. I genuinely feel that."

Yeah, slow. I understand the importance of investing in driver skill but that has nothing to do with the car.

I wolf recommend just keeping it stock until you know what it is you don't like about the car.

That's your opinion & can't debate on that lol

I read few days back on Club4AG boss Moto quoted this:
"what do you mean you can't go fast with 200hp? Please retract that statement until you sit next to me at Streets of Willow as I dive into the chicane at 102mph on race tires, and pull 1.2G's with 6 inch of road left as I slide towards it. LOL"

If his AT 86 can do it, there's an issue somewhere else

i see him at just about every event i go to including streets and no doubt, that guy is definitely fast and so are track tires. i just dont think that equates to the car being fast. put him in another car on race rubber and im not sure it matters what car it is. that being said, i dont believe there is a direct correlation between fast and fun.

I think, there is correlation in this.

Main point is, driver will make the car fast or slow. That's all I'm trying to say ;)

Everyone who owns an under power car says the same thing. Keep in mind that I do own a BRZ, and I love it. I'm just slightly annoyed by the "it's how you drive" comment that I always hear.

It's like a guy with a small D will say "it's not the size, it's how you use it". Guess what? You can memorize the entire book of Kama Sutra, 3 inches is still 3 inches.

Sure you can go fast with 200hp, but you can go faster with 300hp.

Rant over :) hope I didn't offend anyone.

LMAO that was funny analogy.

Before I begin, no, you didn't offend me. Not sure about others, but it was pretty damn funny analogy that made me giggle :bellyroll:

I see your point (very good & funny point). Now, you're only see it as this car itself in the equation... I'm adding driver into the equation.

Taking your example of small D vs big D. Ladies will tell you, if you don't know how to use that big D, your D is useless than dildo.

To make an example:
Driver A drives FRS/BRZ and Driver B drive GT-R. If driver A is smoking Driver B on the track, which means Driver B don't know how to drive fast car "fast"... which as same is big D that's useless than dildo concept. Because adding driver into the equation, we make totally different view on this "fast car" point of view. If we have same driver in same car it became different story. Driver A will prob driver faster lap in GT-R than FRS/BRZ... BUT that's never the case.

That'll never happen? Here's a good example Hot Version did AE86 vs R34. Is it fake? IDK but it sure in the hell entertaining.

It's a bit off, but my point is, all the complainer say this car is "slow" won't be satisfy with any car. It doesn't matter GT-R, Ferrari, Lamborghini or even Bugatti. Until they understand that, car isn't fast. Driver who drive that car makes it fast. Some pple get that concept, some ppl thinks it's an excuse just like small D. I'm not to judge ;)

Oh yea, can't argue with the fact that faster drivers make a car faster, but it ends there. When I see a fast car, its a fast car, not a ok car with a fast driver. I whole heartily agree that on a track, the driver is more important, to a degree.

When my girl pulled away from me at a light in her baby blue turbo Beetle convertible after driving me to pick up my BRZ, I thought "damn this car is kinda slow". Now 5k in mods later I just barely beat her in a straight line.

I'm just saying, I love my car, but not for the power. I like how it looks, how it handles, how it's fuel efficient, and how it's RWD, in that order. My car is great, but it's not fast, not at all. Maybe it's because of me, I'm just a guy who AutoX regularly and enjoy little red light racing here and there, oh wait, that most of us here ;)

Oh please, baby blue beetle? That's nothing! My mom smoked me w this beetle
Attachment 80822

Yes, that's a PINK beetle. Not regular beetle. Diesel TURBO beetle. Do I care? Nope, not one single bit.

What's the old saying..?
"Pick a battle big enough to matter, small enough to win."

If I wanted to beat some Camry, Accord or PINK Beetle in the straight, I would of picked up Challenger, Camaro, STI or used Supra.

Not to be rude but, you know what you got into when you bought this car. You knew this car had barely 200hp. You knew this car can only win straight against Miata, Fiat 500 & if you're lucky maybe older Eclipse lol

Important part is which battle/race is important enough to matter. If you say straight, you got the wrong car lol
