Thanks for the pic, looks sooo sexy :D and its the exact same spec i ordered why oh why can't the cars and price come sooner
|
i don't like the location of the USB plug. hate having wires hanging around and prefer it at the bottom but it's not a deal breaker.
|
the usb is also located left of start button (centre in front of gear lever)
|
wow thanks for the pics!!!

Wonder if the will be a 86 badge on the back ? Also a gts badge ? I rather the Toyota symbol only. Black Toyota symbol on a tornado grey gts :) I can't wait any longer !!!!!!!! |

|
lol gir, ya banana :p
|
Talked to my local dealer and they said it's the factory demo doing the dealer rounds.
|
hi all, yes that's where I work! We have had lots of orders and the interest is building.
I personally have sold quite a few. Please see me in new cars (steve) or call 9877 3133. There is only 1500 units for the whole country this year, in which 50% are manuals. Of the manuals, 50% are the GT spec. Therefore 375 units for man GT and 375 for man GTS. Not many to go around. :( |
So steve have they mentioned anything about the TRD? Has it even been mentioned by the heads of where u work? Is anyone asking u about it?
Cheers |
sorry, TRD is dead.
|

Dead as in Toy Aus wants nothing to do with it? You would think that with the amount of room in these containers they could fit more then 2 cars in there. |

TRD is dead with actual cars. but surely as accessories it's still going?
btw JFC, new cars are shipped RORO in car carriers and not containers. |
Correct me if I'm wrong but does the GTS not come with a rear spoiler?

And they wonder why people buy knock offs on Fleabay and Supercrap Auto. Why would they need a TRD branch to sell the TRD edition, wouldnt it be just another car in the line up? |

There are still parts available through TRD for the old AE86!! As well as a number of other current and past vehicles. They actually have a whole range of stuff for the IS-F ;) So please, don’t make statements like that without factual basis. Especially when you are a dealer representing your company. Poor form. |

Without wanting to hijack the thread, any suggestions on replacement head units, should we feel the need, noting that we won't be getting steering wheel controls? (I'm disappointed in the 80's-styled digital clock and lack of steering wheel controls. Could be a factor in depreciation rates.) |

His post says “TRD is dead”
Not “TRD Australia are no longer selling cars” Two very different things. And besides, A while ago didn’t TMCA confirm they will be importing TRD parts for the 86 available through the dealer network? |

I don't about TRD cars, but i do know they still supply parts for cars that are exclusive to TRD, like Aurion, HiLux,Corolla and soon for the 86. My Dad has a 2003 HiLux 3.4L V6 his got TRD bull bar, mud flaps (are they called mud flaps? the things that under and behind the rear tyres to minimise dirt from flying out) and rain shields on the driver and passenger window. |
yeah but for normal sales people (who typically know very little), TRD to them is dead.
|
They should do some research then, before spouting off with false statements :)
None of us even work for toyota and know this shit... My boss wouldn't like me making up thigns that aren't true and telling potential customers just because i coudln't be bothered finding out facts. |
Er, 'trd id dead because sales on hilux and aurion parts flopped'
Really? Hilux and aurion?? Two of the least sporty cars I can think of and they didnt predict dismal sales of trd parts. |
but currently TRD is really dead (in its last form) in Australia.
they might introduce TRD as parts only in the future here or they might just market those TRD parts as Toyota Geninue Parts/Accessories. |
