June 7th after Perrin meet drag racing at Portland Raceway or watch us drag!

I'm organizing a night for everyone to come show up and drag race or watch us race ($28 to race, no helmet needed) after the Perrin meet http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61864
at Portland International Raceway. Show up anytime between 530pm-midnight to see how you and your car does. Come witness turbocharged, twin screw supercharged, center fugal supercharged, electric supercharged, and even naturally aspirated BRZs and FR-Ss drag race. This is a weather permitting event as there's no drags if it's raining. :paddle:

It would be super fun to race against my fellow BRZ/FR-S owners and watch all the others battle it out. :w00t:

Even the Seattle/Tacoma people that come down for the Perrin meet should join! You guys could pile into a hotel at Jantzen Beach together to make it cheap so you don't need to drive home after and party with the Portland area peeps after! We could probably go as a group after the Perrin meet for dinner then hit the raceway to drag or watch other owners like me drag race.

Here's the drag racing page on PIR's website: http://portlandraceway.com/?/events/...g_events/drags
It's a 1/4 mile on Fri and Sat. 1/8 on Weds. They should have helmet rentals so call/email them to ask if needed.

too soon for a too soon junior?

Josh,

Is this 1/8 or 1/4 mile? Website doesn't specify (lame).

And if I don't bring a helmet I'll probably only get one run (car is faster than 14 seconds in the 1/4)

It's a 1/4 mile. I would bring a helmet just in case but I'm guessing if you're a little under they won't say anything. If you are a lot under then maybe. I think they may have helmet rentals as well. I have a medium helmet I can bring that can be used when I'm not doing a run or if I don't need to use it.

Don't forget to put this on the calendar after Perrin meet!

I'll be headed down to the Perrin Meet in the morning (just over 200 miles). May very well drag the BRZ tomorrow nite at PIR, then drive it home. Believe it or not I have to work 8AM Sunday, in Everett. (Just a short 24hr shift)

stockysnail 06-07-2014 11:13 PM

14.230 too much wheel spin at the start.

stockysnail 06-07-2014 11:40 PM

14.468 got worse again so time to leave. ;) Thanks to Jason @Thatruth2001 for watching me. ;)

dude nice, looks like 14.0 ~ 13.8 is the max for the innovate kit. I wish I didn't have evening plans or I would of taken my car too.

How did your rear axle hold up?

I'm down to run down the strip once we get into next month. I really want to see what times the car can do.

I had Jeff Perrin check out my car and he's pretty sure it's the rear brake pads moving that's making the noise I'm hearing. He said the wear bar metal thing that sticks up should be on the inside, not outside like I have it. Everything he said makes total sense. I'm going to pull the wheels off and check out the pads and make sure the metal plate's metal thing that sticks out is on the inside.

He also said if it was the axle I would be hearing it all the time and not when I change from a stop to starting.

My car seemed great on the drag strip aside from the wheel spin at 3k rpm. ;)
