Phantom FTS Electric Supercharger Owners Thread

http://i.imgur.com/w1s4Zsm.png

Now that several batches of the Phantom ESC have been sent out, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for the owners of this kit.

I stole this from another owners thread, but: THIS IS NOT A THREAD FOR DEBATE ABOUT THE PROS AND CONS OF THE PHANTOM ESC VS OTHER TURBOCHARGERS AND SUPERCHARGERS. SINCE THIS IS AN OWNERS THREAD, PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD ABOUT OWNER EXPERIENCES AND QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PHANTOM ESC EXPERIENCES.

Thanks TM! 2/4/14 for me as well. What do you think about putting together a list of owners' configurations and other engine/exhaust mods so we know who is similar and who has what we might be interested in next?

Something like this? Maybe add dyno numbers or quarter mile times for those who know?

Great idea! As people fill out their info, I can update the first post. Better than getting spammed with PMs.

Done!

WRB5titch 05-29-2014 11:29 AM

@TM I'm actually part of batch 2 :)

installed on 04/09/14

WNDSRFR 05-29-2014 01:47 PM

Done.

I just wanted to comment that the Phantom is the best bang-for-the-buck performance enhancement available.

PERIOD.

If you don't believe me I will gladly demonstrate the system for you.

If anyone is in the Cocoa area, just PM me and we can make arrangements to get together.

fenton 05-29-2014 02:03 PM

There is quite a few other people that are in the third batch as well. Im sure they will post up their names once they get their kits installed :)

Glad everyone is loving the system as much as i am :)

TM 05-29-2014 02:14 PM

The "locations" column in the spreadsheet is a good way for those who are curious to see if there's anyone nearby that would demo the system for them.

Urmyson 05-29-2014 03:19 PM

I'm in the second batch

Khyron686 05-29-2014 04:04 PM

I'm technically in the 2nd batch, but didn't pick it up until the 1.5 kit was ready. Installed last night, needed a new voltmeter which Rob got me today, and all is well. Amazing system - very pleased.

I have the 1.5 kit, OFH, OFT stage2 program, stock exhaust/stock intake/stock tires (but not for long).

My only "sigh" is that now the sound tube is gone/phantom is in, I can't hear the UEL openflash header rumble anymore.

Anyone who says the don't really notice a difference has installed something wrong. It's night/day when it's engaged IMO.

Stormalong 05-29-2014 04:54 PM

Added myself to the spreadsheet, I'm third batch. Also added a 0-60 column.

You are running the phantom tune though right not the stage 2 tune?

Need to be running the phantom tune.

I got a fix for the boxer rumble disappearing, it's called nameless track pipe. Does sound like the sky is falling though lol :-)

Yeah
You need to be running the Phantom tune.

I wonder how the new E-85 tune is going? I know Shiv is spread pretty thin but I think E-85 with the Phantom, OFH and the new tune will be the ultimate in budget performance enhancement.

enwave 05-30-2014 11:56 AM

I will most likely be waiting to install until the E85 tune is complete -- I have lots of things to distract me in the meantime since I have closed on my first home while the ESC is shipping haha.

I'll update info and stuff when I do the installation.

Anyone have a catch can installed?

Gary in NJ 05-30-2014 02:23 PM

I updated my entry to reflect the fact that I'm operating a TQ250 with a 1.5 kit, yet it doesn't appear to update. What am I doing wrong?

What do you need a catch can for?

You know...catching...cans..

I've read that catch cans are recommended for catching/separating oil on FI and tracked vehicles. Since I track an FI car, I was questioning whether or not this should be on my upgrade list... :iono:

jwvand02 05-30-2014 10:43 PM

Anyone have the OFH and running on E85? This is the setup I'm currently mulling over...

nlowell 05-30-2014 11:09 PM

No one is running e85 yet because there isn't an e85 ESC tune...yet. Hopefully any day now there will be...and there will be much rejoicing! :)

I have OFH and am running E85... but not installing the ESC until the tune is ready if I have enough willpower to wait. But I'm happy to post impressions when I get it on and tuned. I might install this week and go back to 92 just to condition batteries though, and head back to E85 when the tune is done.

Decisions, decisions.

I'm not saying that i was racing anyone but the stock frs+esc is definitely faster then a Integra type r with full bolt ons +race cams and tunned.
Also lot faster then 2013 civic si with full bolt ons and 900usd in customs tuning.:)

In the orignal ESC threads they have dynos for someone running OFT+E85... must be custom tuned

That's shiv , he's the one doing the e85 tune for his OFT, no eta yet though but i hope he'll finish fine tuning it soon.

Side note ; i pray to God every night before going to bed "Dear God please help @shiv@vishnu in every way you can so that he'll have time to complete the e85 tune for the phantom supercharger. AMEN"

Correction:that's Sojhinn :)

That was me, but I am not sure if the tune is safe with the 1.5 pack which is why I'm hesitant to run it on my car currently.

I'm running the Crawford AOS, cant really tell you if its doing much lol

On a side note, Rob and I installed a boost gauge on my car, for fun, just shy of 5 with the 1.5 dump pack.... if only I could get past that 5...

Hey guys,

Socal member here. I installed my setup with no problems, this is my second day running it and for reasons unknown to me the blower will not blow when switch is engaged. All the wiring is secure and the volt meter reads 28.X. When I press the switch, nothing happens, the volt meter even stays the same with no fluctuations. praying I didn't burn out the kit already... :-/ any suggestions? help a brother out!

Remove the Drag Reduction tube from the intake and suck on it. If the ESC engages you may have a problem with the throttle switch. If nothing happens, you have another issue.

Do you hear they system beeping 5 times when it powers up?

Daesondei 05-31-2014 10:22 PM

thanks for the quick response. I just tried it, still nothing. unit does not beep.

Double check your wiring and make sure you covered all the steps.

When you are removing the drag reduction tube make sure you remove it off the intake. And then blow and suck on it.

Grab a friend and have them listen in the hood. Start the car and see if he/she hears the beeps.
