The bitch is back!

So, had a nice little old lady cream the back of the FRS a couple of mondays ago. After this little paint ordeal, I've decided to never own another pearl white color again. Needless to say, I had an AMAZING body shop who has bent over backward for my pickyness.

Got her back yesterday, put the wing back on last night, and the Toms came in today. Little teaser until I can actually get time to get some shots done.

before.

And then the accident happened

Got her back yesterday. Color is light, but the pearl is PERFECT!

Well…finished her off today, wing is back on, new lights, and she's back. Bummed about the bumper still as it will never be the same, but glad she's back in the garage. She's been a blast to drive the last couple days.

Glad you got her back and the paint match turned out well. I've been without my girl for over a week now as I'm having a body shop repair minor paint damage that was caused during service - found out they were backed up due to the holiday weekend and now it looks like I won't have her back through the weekend :(. I think once I get her back it's going to feel like the first day I drove her off the lot all over again.

Nice choice going with the red Tom's - definitely the best looking tails on a Whiteout imo

Glad you were able to find a body shop willing to actually make you happy and get the paint to your liking!! It's a shame your beautiful lights got busted . When I was looking to paint mine red yours were one of the first I came across and absolutely fell in love with and made my choice real easy to paint them red! But hey at least you got a set of Toms out of it! It's hard to go wrong with those!

AGREED! LOVE the Toms. Wife was awesome! Insurance paid for one of them, so I basically got them for half price. It was a no brainer. I still have one of the lights, lol! If anyone needs it, PM me. Just pay for shipping or pick it up. It is a bitter sweet sort of deal. Car will be sold now, but at least I can hang on to it for awhile. (long story, but the "off" bumper REALLY bugs me even though I am the only one who see's it.)

Dang! That is a no brainer! I want to take it so bad but I think it would look weird on mine since my red is darker then yours and definitely not as "candy apple red" as yours. Sad to hear you'll be selling it! Will you be selling the Toms once you sell the car?

I'll be swapping the toms out for some stock "reded" out lights from a good friend. It's still a bit off (probably a year or so) but yeah, little lady will be going :(

Still awhile off. Finances are GREAT! I'm just picky. You're still stuck with me for a year. I don't mind loosing a little, but I am even right now. I need a good down payment on the next car. Probably going outback for the wife

Why did I think this thread was about a mother in law?

I might be in the same boat in the near future, except my wife drives a Corolla.

Wait... this was because you guys are expecting a little one, right? Or was that someone else :bonk:

AVodka14 05-29-2014 10:31 AM

Glad it's back and mostly to your liking. I can't say I don't blame you for wanting to sell it. I am picky like you are buddy. Very selfless thing to do in order to let your wife have a turn at a new whip. Tom's are the shit!

ichitaka05 05-29-2014 11:09 AM

That's one of the reason, I'll never buy pearl white... they're bitch!

Anyways, glad to hear you got it back

Diode Dynamics 05-29-2014 11:12 AM

Whiteout is admittedly a tough color to paint match, but you have to admit...it does look incredible!

It gets a ton of comments at shows, people ask if it's a custom color all the time.

Looks like your shop did a great job

Wait am I reading this right?

You are trading car in for an outback and going to drive a civic because you don't like the paint match on your bumper?

Please tell me I am wrong lol

We are working on it, so in the near future. We were going to wait until she was actually pregnant.

Short answer, yes.

Long answer. We were going to have to trade one car in on the new one anyway as we just don't have space for three. She was being great and letting me keep the FRS. Well, not really stoked on the FRS anymore. If the bumper was smaller and not so noticable like the wing I would be fine, but the ass on this cars is HUGE, so unless I am in direct sunlight, it sticks out. Also, the civic is paid for and is cheaper to maintain. It was the more logical one to keep anyway. I just have a very understanding wife.

ZionsWrath 05-29-2014 12:58 PM

ugh, not bashing or anything but I hate when guys say Their wife "let them" do something

Good luck with your car decisions.

lol, no offense taken. It's a give, give thing. There are some decisions we want to make that aren't the wisest ones. In that case, considering that we share finances, "permission" must be asked. Keeping an impractical car that we owe money on to get another car that we will owe money on is a bad decision when we have a car already paid off ;) Reason why she "let me"

Jumping in late but the BRZ/frs can baby. I have two toddler seats in the back of mine and they love driving in "lightning McQueen".
