You know you own a BRZ when....
We had a thread like this on another forum and its a lot of fun...and it continues to have legs for quite a long time as people get their cars and begin to have experiences both good... and yes, bad...

I'll start...
You know you own a BRZ when...

> you waited months and months and were still eager to pay full MSRP
> you're simultaneously ecstatic and angry when someone posts that they just took delivery before you
> you don't give a sh1t about 0-60
> you have car with a back seat that no one with legs can actually use

ok... I'll leave some for the rest of you creative and witty types

>you freely give $500+ to hold a car that you don't even know the price, dont know the delivery date, and haven't even driven.

DeepHunta 05-21-2012 12:49 AM

.....in the back of your head, a Porsche Cayman is only a drift corner away ;)

^^Most important post of the day :)

Sc0ob_do0D 05-21-2012 01:19 AM

You're constantly correcting people when they assume "AWD" and "turbo" after seeing/hearing "Subaru." I guess you tend to forget not everyone follows the car as obsessively as you (and ::ahem:: many others) do...

315FR-S 05-21-2012 02:54 AM

you know you own a brz when your car has a mustache that matches yours

Getagrip 05-21-2012 03:05 AM

You know you own a BRZ when it finally arrives.

uspspro 05-21-2012 03:57 AM

> When you have a VIN

or.. maybe not

to be honest with you, most of the time I mention "I'm getting that new Subaru" people ask about the new WRX and I tell them it's the BRZ.

Draco-REX 05-21-2012 09:35 AM

You know you own a BRZ when:
  • You know more about SUV tires than you ever have before..
  • You need to change two lanes over to get to an exit ramp and you ponder pulling a FnF with the semi trailer beside you.
  • Someone wants to race you and you shake your head no; then procede to yell "Too slow!" as you hound their rear bumper up the off ramp.
  • A hot chick walks up and asks if it's a Ferrari and you say YES. (owning a BRZ doesn't make you stupid! ;) )

GMU-BRZ 05-21-2012 10:19 AM

when... you don't have a car yet, with no word on when you might get the car, after months of waiting, while people on the other side of the country are starting to get their cars.

akrazor 05-21-2012 12:41 PM

When you know more about:
-How long it takes to produce the car
-The Type of ship and time it takes to transport the car acrossed the ocean.
-You can Call the dealer and tell them more about your order and the car then the salesman or the GM.

merlin2111 05-21-2012 12:47 PM

when you hear "I thought that was a scion" 15 times a day.

Tainen 05-21-2012 01:05 PM

1) when everyone you meet asks how the AWD works
2) you routinely see people almost getting into wrecks trying to see and take cell phone pics of your car
3) you get excited when it rains, because the car is SUPER fun in the rain

That sounds kind of scary... in an urban/suburban area anyway.

fatoni 05-21-2012 01:56 PM

When you look down on the scion despite it being fundamentally the same car

NYC BRZ 05-21-2012 02:30 PM

-You've learned more about maritime traffic and shipping channels than how the car actually drives
-You're willing to wait on the phone for 20 minutes a day every day in the hopes that you have a VIN number, just to be let down and call back tomorrow.

Turbowned 05-21-2012 02:31 PM

-You have to explain that "no, it's not AWD. No, it's non-turbo" to EVERYONE.

-You care more about driving ENJOYMENT than outright speed

-You're thrilled to be able to buy a sub-3,000lb, supremely-balanced sports car that still comes with heated seats, navigation, HID's, automatic climate control, and keyless access!

-You see a Genesis, 370Z or Mustang and make "OINK OINK" piggy noises, or shout "BEEFCAKE! BEEFCAKE!"

-You're glad your car looks like this:

And not this:

WRXGuy1 05-21-2012 03:37 PM

When you can spot the difference between an FR-S and a BRZ from a mile away.

HAHAHAHA I actually searched "SCARY HELGA" and this was the first pic that came up!

adamls2 05-22-2012 04:57 AM

When you constantly get asked, "What kind of car is that?", wherever you go :p

FitchAlcyone 05-22-2012 07:31 AM

When you can easily hum along to the Subaru hold music because you've heard it a little too much...

ajay 05-22-2012 09:03 AM

When you are driving a car that is rarer than a 458 Italia... For a few months anyway. Maybe a few more months given SOAs track record

sure74 05-22-2012 09:41 AM

When you check every car on every transport trailer you pass because it may be on there.

ajay 05-22-2012 10:35 AM

When you take a different route home every day to drive by the Subaru dealer in the hope of seeing a transport trailer
