Gauging interest in Plug n Play option for BRZ Boomerang to turn ON with DRLs....

There is a great DIY tutorial written by @Lithium on how to powerfeed the BRZ headlight boomerangs to be on with the DRLs. It's very well written and he has agreed to make a PnP option for the average joe that does not want to solder cables.. (e. g. me....). I don't think dimmed will be an option.

@Lithium can respond to that..

I think he said it will be an option if I interpreted this correctly. Unless he just meant stock and the "on with headlights" DRL behavior.

I'd be interested in the stock DRL behavior option.

I would do the headlight on but having the fog light on with drl's seems too much

I put my parking lights on to get the boomerang/DRL's on. So the difference will be no sidemarker lights/tail lights on, while the DRL/Rang lights go on?

the difference will be you can leave your lights in auto all the time, and on daytime, the boomerang will light up without your parking lights, sidemarkers and instrument cluster lighting up.

What's the price range we're talking about?

I'll let @Lithium decide that. I can only think that as the number of potential buyers increase, the price of each unit can go down......

I expect a fair price on it, knowing we will be using his spare time, getting materials/ etc. Maybe after seeing the interest in a few days he can come up with a $$ figure..

Read the OP and go to the links provided please. There is already a DIY... The DIY is not PnP. I requested Lithium make a PnP setup and that is how we landed here.. :thumbup:

Plug and Play means... Plugging and playing... OP specifically says "I don't want to solder". Plug and play means it will be connecting/disconnecting plugs, nothing more. :cheers:

Yup, read the DIY weeks ago. Read the OP. The issue is that with many of these forum specials produced by individuals is that PnP may not strictly be PnP. That's why I was asking if it is really going to be PnP. Maybe there are gotchas, who can really say at this point? Besides Lithium himself, of course. I'm hoping Lithium can chime in soon and give a general rundown of what his goals and expectations are of his final solution that'll be distributed to members --- provided there is enough interest to warrant his expenditure of time/effort.

Ok, fair. Know that if for some reason Lithium cannot make it PnP, like literally plugging and playing, then this won't happen and/or everyone will be give a choice.

Put me down for the boomerangs on with the DRL and the normal useage with the headlights on. so I guess that would be stock behaviour

Can't really see how to add additional connectors without splicing into existing wires, but if there was really a PnP way, I'll be interested as well.

also wish their was a kit to leave my fog lights on even during the DRL are on.

I'm in for On all the time car is on.

You get connectors from the OEM source that are male and female and add the harness to them. It's exaclty what Diode Dynamics does to provide PnP HID's to the BRZ Fog Lights.

I'm 1000% IN for the DRL bar option AND the brighter boomerang option. PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN! (Under a reasonable budget if possible)

Will buy a stock version (but might be interested in custom if dimming led strip an option !)

Diggity down... Are the DRL's heavy on glare at night? If they aren't obscene, i'm okay with them staying on at night when headlights are on.

They are pretty heavy, for the only reason that the output isnt pointed as it would be with a projector. Hence why Mercedes strips that stay on at night are dimmed

Forgot to mention: interested in stock behavior, unless LED DRL can be dimmed when headlights come on.

I hope @Lithium doesn't have a heart attack when he sees the interest.. LOL

The brighter boomerang is a whole different animal and different DIY. It is not able to be accomplished plug and play. The headlights have to be taken apart for that one.

I'm down mang, stock behavior.
