I picked up one of the "first 86" from Toyota of Melbourne here in Melbourne, FL. They are expecting more possibly in the summer to August time. Definitely get in touch with Sean McGee to setup your purchase when they start getting them in. Awesome guy gives off more of a friendly persona than a salesman persona. That dealership is very respectful and proud of the vehicles they sale and they value their customers greatly

That is my Scion! They sold it to you! They called me this morning informing me that they sold the car. I never told them too, we were still talking about the price, they told me they didn't know what the monthly payments would be and they would call me back soon. The next call I received was the one telling me they sold it. Is It Ultramarine with a Manual Transmission? That is my car I put $500 down on it, They are the worst dealership I have ever dealt with.

Yea definitely not CoRi J's fault here. He just bought the car. If Corporate works it out, insist another dealer do the delivery!

Without question this is the case. He was just checking out the car and one thing lead to another. What I find interesting is Dan saying he was working with Joe the salesman, but CoRi was dealing with Sean. So maybe Sean didnt know the deal and sold the car....but in any case the Manager should have know the deal. All I can say is WOW.

If this isn't a super troll then this situation is fucked up.

All of the "first 86" are spoken for. Toyota might be able to get you another car, but it won't be a "first 86" car.

If your first statement is true...that would be the ultimate troll and I fell for it.

Lawyers on a Sunday? If you can pull that off financially then why did you even care about the payment price? Something smells funny here. Forgive me for being skeptical (reading too many forums has done that to me), if this is legit I feel horrible for you.

Um...hi nice to meet you too... I wasn't told anything either until I agreed to provide them information to obtain a quote. I don't know what's going on but I wasn't told any of this when they had it up for sale on their website. I saw it available and walked in. They said it was available and that was it. If this is "your car" then did you sign paperwork reserving the car for you and if not then was the deposit not refunded back to you?

I'm sorry to sound upset but you need to understand with the way this is being approached. I don't want to be involved with any part of these legal matters because the sale was open to the public and it wasn't just held for me. There were a couple of salesmen showing this car to people but the only way I was eligible to even find out what the car cost was by filling out paperwork and it being run by the sales manager to see if i was even able to be approved for the car. The car couldn't be test driven until I let them do the credit check and was serious about the car. I didn't know what my payments were going to be until I handed them the drivers license and gave them my credit check info to see where I stood financially.

I'm sorry to hear what happened but deposit or not they didn't just tell me everything up front either. I didn't have to negotiate the price because they have some pricing program through Scion that basically made the car available at msrp. They gave me a good deal on my trade in and I put money down on it but that was towards the end of the discussion about the car with them before I got the keys.

I wish you the best of luck but please do not get me involved with this since I have no knowledge of what happened before me.

If need be I can show the paperwork to the moderators proving I bought this car legitimately in my name. I give you my word I'm not trying to troll at all and honestly I don't know what the fuck is going on. The car was advertised online so I'm hoping that this person wasn't going to go after whoever he saw driving the car.

This doesn't make me feel comfortable at all being brought into something like this when I didn't do anything wrong. I walked in and walked out the same day with the car and no negotiations at all about the price.

so the next question is, Cori did you buy the car at MSRP? if the price has a markup, which i highly believe it does, then this dealer win the shittiest shadiest and son-of-a-bitch reward :barf:

I too saw it online the night before Cori bought it. I had called the dealership the night before to schedule a test drive and they simply told me that the person who was supposed to purchase it had "backed out" and that it was available for purchase now.

I personally wasn't looking for an Ultramarine anyways, but I wanted to drive it before I made any rash decisions about my current car. Cori beat me to it though! :D Congrats again on your purchase... to the OP, crappy deal man. Hope you get it all worked out and they get you another FR-S--and quickly!

It was for $24,985 and MSRP is $24,930...$55 difference...so was the mark up noticeable? No I'm assuming that was for the full tank of gas they put in the car. They stuck to their pricing program I think it's called pure pricing or something like that.


Thanks man! At least you were able to schedule a test drive. I wasn't allowed to drive it until paperwork was signed for showing I was serious. It felt like I was buying a Lamborghini or something expensive because they wanted to make sure that I was financially eligible to even buy the car by signing paperwork before moving further with me.

hmm nah 55 difference could be just the difference in destination cost. so you did get it at MSRP, which means at least the dealer is not douchebag.

He stated in here that he doesn't blame you but blames the dealership.

Ok I apologize for the comment. It's just unexpected with the way I was originally approached on this. I don't want to cause any trouble and I really don't want to be apart of any.

but I could understand the situation with Cori...saw the car for sale and jumped right on it...but sorry to say Cori but you'll probably be apart of the investigation...with assassins lawyers...few questions about the sales man and the buy on the car...I would know..my cousins a lawyer....

I am willing to bet they made more money on the backside. The trade in and on the marked up interest rates. Msrp could stay the same still doesnt meam they made the same amount of money. Why do you think they wanted to run your credit before giving you a sales price and payment info. They padded the apr to makes money. You all dont understand that. If he financed through TFS the interest rate is also capped by Scion and the dealership can't mark it up (unlike the price of the car which they can markup as long as they advertise it at the price they try to charge for it, so they can't just mark it up on the spot). If you know your credit score u can find out what your rate will be before u even walk into the dealership.

I don't know this dealership but I have to believe there's more to it than just this. If you had a deposit down on the car and I'm assuming a purchase order i just don't see what the benefit to the dealership would be of selling it to someone else. Especially with how strict scion is being about the first 86 program.

How many days were there without communication between you and the dealership after they left u a voicemail?
Why not call and talk to a manager if your sales person was unavailable?

I'm never going to defend this dealership but would like to know the details of how this all went down.

The car was posted for sale, you walked in and bought it, plain and simple.

I haven't heard my phone ring yet..hoping it stays that way. The dealers website is stating that they are supposed to be getting 6 more of the ultramarine 6spd's within this month. It's only an ETA but I wouldn't be surprised if they break a deal on one of those.

Wow thats shady. I mean its not CoRi's fault, but that really blows. Especially since it's been a cool thing to be part of teh First 86, with events, and swag that you get. Did they even give you the first 86 swag that came with the car?

6 more of the ultramarines? Man that dealer is crazy. Here in california most dealers are barely getting 5 total, let alone 6 of the same colour. This dealer smells quite fishy, just sayin'. Enjoy your new ride though, sorry bout the drama.

Saw it on a cheap Tuesday. Totally worth $6.99 if you go with some rowdy friends and bring Jack Daniels as your date.

But this is messed up. I hope the dealership gets hosed by Scion HQ.

LoL you guys are funny. Hope you enjoyed the popcorn and didn't waste it. Hate to disappoint but there most likely won't be any responses about what happened. To respect both parties I can't share what happened but I can say that the dealership and Scion did what they could to make both customers happy.

I can still drive the car and it is truly in my name.
