Nice! White was my second choice, but it's my first Subaru, so had to get the WRB. Did they charge you any markup at Evanston?

No markups, paid MSRP with nothing added.

Pretty sure at this point the salesguy at the dealer I went to fucked me over. If anyone else picks one up from Napleton's, shoot me a PM.

sickmint79 06-20-2012 09:01 PM

white was my second too, it does look good. the pearl is the way to go, i have a pure white 545i now and it's a bitch to clean, keep finding all the areas you need to clean more constantly! i took forever when used the clay bar on it.

evanston seems to be keeping the good reputation they've earned... and schaumburg keeping the poor one they've earned. over msrp i was going to consider walking into a scion dealership. although there seemed to be much more available a week ago, last i did a quick local cars.com search only one was left. looked to be asking more than msrp too.

We'll see how well they take care of me at this point, now that I have the car in hand. Dropped it off to fix the front bumper, and if they give me any grief about it I'm going to raise hell.

I called them out on charging me over MSRP when every other dealer in chicagoland (seemingly) isn't charging over MSRP, and they kinda floundered on the answer. Whatever though, it's done and over with at this point.

sickmint79 06-21-2012 10:26 AM

ubersoph was the first guy from evanston, i already asked him about it. i didn't tell you cuz i figured you might not wanna know!

Red Barchetta 06-21-2012 10:43 AM

So what is the count for delivers from Evanston? I also ordered mine through there.

Nah, I pretty much figured that I'll be one of like, 3 people in the world who actually paid more than MSRP for one of these. They aren't getting a good review or survey from me, though. The salesperson I dealt with on the sale was a jackoff too, and not the guy I had been working with through the entire process.

sickmint79 06-21-2012 07:25 PM

they have always had a reputation for being shady. i actually got my sti there, for 28,900 (i think pre-tax? forgot) i didn't know anyone that ever got one cheaper. i mostly rode my brother's negotiating wave though, i think he got that quote but ended up going with a legacy gt, which i think he also got cheaper than anyone i knew. he is a pretty shrewd negotiator fo sho.

philstar 06-25-2012 05:17 PM

Just ordered a whiteout MT from Schaumburg Toyota, now to forget I did and patiently wait

Nice! We have the same color! Care to meet? haha

nibor33 06-29-2012 10:25 PM

I tried to order from Gerald in Naperville on 3/1/12, but they laughed at my offer of MSRP. Told me $3 to $5K over, and they said they'd stick to their guns. I ordered from Grand in Bensenville, and got my car yesterday for MSRP, no shady dealings. Ended up 2nd on the list on 3/2/12.

Anyway, FWIW, I'd highly recommend Grand. Whatever crap they've gotten online, they seem honest and Bill the salesman is an autocrosser.

Wicked Wookiee 06-30-2012 10:58 AM

Great looking cars guys. Hello from up Nort, der hey.

Sure!

ranisron 06-30-2012 10:07 PM

Saw a red in the showroom last Friday (6/22) at Gerald. First time seeing the BRZ in person... too bad by 6/29, that one was gone. Plus, since Gerald wants to people to pay 3 to 5k over MSRP, I may as well use points to buy it out of state and then break in the engine on my way back to Wheaton.

Hey guys! My name is Adam, and I picked up an this Argento yesterday from Anderson Toyota in Rockford. Originally had a deposit on a Whiteout at Classic Toyota in Waukeegan, but after a month of waiting, and no updates from the dealer, I took the matter into my own hands. I really needed a car to get around, so I settled on my second color choice with this Argento FR-S.

This seems like a lively forum, and I hope to meet some fellow auto enthusiasts.

Here is a quick phone pic I took once I got her home:

I saw that too.

But in any case, welcome!

philstar 07-04-2012 09:09 AM

which reminds me, I better request the dealer to not drill mine when it comes in. Congrats on the purchase though, I have a Whiteout on order, but Argento was definitely my second option as well.

Hawaiian 07-04-2012 11:13 AM

What dealer?

SportInjected 07-05-2012 02:27 PM

Thanks guys, and yes, since I discovered the car through cars.com, they already mounted the front plate bracket during the PDI.

K2 07-05-2012 09:52 PM

I think if you don't want your FR-S front plate bracket installed in Illinois, you have to be there when the truck arrives and escort it through the dealership till they hand you the keys.

philstar 07-05-2012 11:19 PM

If i request it, I dont see an issue. Although I may have to constantly remind them time and time again.. I hate front plates.

I have two friends who have received their FR-S's without the front bumper drilled here in Illinois. I never thought twice about it until it was mentioned above.

Regardless, I just want the damn thing already so I can start tracking and drifting it asap

connor_lol 07-06-2012 01:57 AM

Second Allocation for this region arrives late July / Early August.

I didn't request no bracket, my dealer had the foresight to leave it off and ask me when I picked it up. :respekt:
