How Long Will the Monograms Be Available?

So it pains me to say that I'm a member here, and I don't yet own an FRS. I'm hoping to change that early next year, though! That brings me to my question that hopefully someone will have some insight on.

How long do you think the Monograms be available at dealers?

I'm hoping to find one early next year when I get back from being overseas, but I've never dealt with special/limited edition cars. I've only bought/sold two cars over the years and I don't consider myself that experienced when it comes to buying a vehicle, so I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Dont worry. Scion will keep releasing new special editions. That what they did after I got my 13 FR-S base.

FXXXCK!!!

My thoughts are even if the monogram ends there will be another version. Original -> 10 series -> monogram -> RS 1.0 -> ?? Always going to be another version so don't worry about the "limited edition" aspect.

But have you scene dat rs 1.0 doe? Not a fan of the yellow...but go each their own.

You can always pick up a BRZ limited... it's gonna be exactly the same other than styling.

Considering that my local dealer has 3 10 Series sitting on the lot still, I wouldn't be surprised if Monograms were still laying around on lots next year.

Just get an FR-S. It should have been called the "Flatbill" edition.

until all 1500 units are sold i would imagine.

It has been a year and 10 Series are still on the lots, and we get new members registering in the 10 Series registry who recently purchased it. Albeit there was 1000 more 10 Series than Monograms.

500 actually. Only 2500 10 Series FRS and 2000 Monograms.

You want the Super Turbo Supercharger Doge Monogram 2.0 FR-S.

It seems that the Toyobaru is destined to compete/replace the Miata in more than one way.

Not only are they an awesome affordable RWD car...there will be a "Limited Edition" every year.

Yeah but monograms don't have glowy badges

Correct, my mistake. Even better odds of a monogram laying around

I get where you are coming from... I've been "trolling" the forums since 2012, but still don't own one. :/

I missed the chance to get Series 10 when they released (being an island, availability is very limited). Waited for the Monogram and couldn't purchase since they all came in Automatic.

Some of us hoped the Monograms would be released in short quantities each year, but that would mean competing against the Release Series that will eventually come each year. The RS 1.0 will come out shortly, but being so particular (color, specs, etc.), I'm guessing not everybody will want one. There are still have Series 10 models available, even though the Monogram edition is out. Therefore, you could possibly see some Monograms available when you come back, although might be hard to find.

LXXXV1 04-26-2014 01:42 PM

It'll really only be hard to get one you want. From what I've seen in my shopping, all the 10 series left have too many dealer installed options to sell. That and the fact that it only comes in one color may make it harder for people to bite. All cars will follow this pattern in a way. The monogram comes in all colors and tranny.

If you try to hold out for a monogram in hopes it'll be cheaper, you're gonna lose out on a higher possibility to enjoy the exact one you want NOW, vs a monogram with some options you won't want LATER, and probably not the color you want. Let's hope they at least have your transmission by the time you're purchase. 6 speed ftw!

FYI, I read through a forum once about a guy waiting 5 years to save $2000 on a Rolex...that's 5 years he could've been enjoying his watch. Just some food for thought for those who have the money but are holding out for a deal or something better. They will ALWAYS come out with newer...so if you want the best, accept the fact they it'll only be the best for about a year, maybe more if you have the RS 1.0 following the monogram. Lol jk. Gotta pay that premium. Factor in the resale value bc you will get a later year model since you're buying at the end of the year...in 10 years a 9 year old car should sell more than a 10 under similar driving conditions.

Monogram = GT86
