Suppose it was inevitable....
My pristine FRS has been christened with its first door ding. :paddle: And I cant even beat the responsible person to a pulp, shes just too sweet ( and yes the dinger confessed to the crime before I saw what happened - bonus points on that one these days)

daughter is safe LOL.... neighbor here at work is the guilty party. And the fact that telling me seemed to terrify her seemed punishment enough. This time :slap:

This is why I park far away from other cars and yet they want to park near me.

Well, like they say ..... "the first one hurts the most".
I'm sure a good PDR person can make it look like new (hopefully - unless she backed into it). Reminds me of the time, waaaay back in the day (before the present mrs humfrz) a sweet, little, female co-worker backed into my pristine 1970 MGB, while we were turning around ..... somewhere we weren't susposed to be ..... at least with each other.... fixed that up with my dollars .... http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...mages/sigh.gif I'd better go ..... http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...mages/bolt.gif humfrz |
In reality the door ding is a tiny little blemish.... I'm not even sure how long it was there before she realized the car was mine and fessed up about it. I'm sure one day something far more insidious will happen when something whacks the car on the freeway at high speed.... but that first one.....microscopic as it may be.....ughhhhh

ugh, I got a nice, 1 inch long scratch/dent/crease on the lower half of the drivers side door. It hurts to look at every single time I walk up to my car.
|
If it makes you any better, we just had our first scratch yesterday too - on the rim - made a turn an inch too close to the pavement... Lucky it's not obvious.

I'm sure most of us have curb rash on our front balance. Its bound to happen.

Start a harem.
you can call them the dingbats. |
Just found my first clear coat scratches on the passenger side front quarter panel. About 10-12 inches long a piece. Looks like somebody rubbed up against my car while walking. Anyway, I saw it, stopped, and thought "son of a bitch!". Suddenly realized this is going to be the first of hopefully just a few. Got over it and put some ultimate compound on it and it is much better. Dings/dents can be repaired quite well these days. $100 and you should be good as new.

I've found myself doing that now too. |

I also hunt for spots near striped zones and curbs so I can create a huge gap between one side of me and the next car. Or I'll look for the nicest sports car and park there, I know they wont hit me. |
I had a ripple in my door before I even purchased the car. I'm assuming it was from the transport. Oh well….it happens! Glad she fessed up to you!

Got sideswiped yesterday and left considerable waves with scratches - hit and run and they probably didn't even know they did it - I was so pissed - my deductible is too high to bother with the insurance. Now I have to find a competent shop that can match the pearl white. Just venting thanks for listening

I have a door ding, crack in the front bumper and curb rash on two Work Kiwami's and it doesn't really bother me; not worth stressing over. This is not a Ferrari (and if I could afford one I probably wouldn't care about dings either).
