why does it have two valve stem openings? lol

tahdizzle 04-22-2014 12:41 PM

probably the same reason why Koseis have 2 valves.

one standard and one nitrogen

SkAsphalt 04-22-2014 01:05 PM

Some race teams run dual valves for speed and something else..but basically it helps crews do their jobs faster

DAEMANO 04-22-2014 02:57 PM

Great looking addition. Love the tech, price, size, offsets and weights. Nice find!

jdmblood 04-22-2014 04:42 PM

gtf2s look pretty similar to enkei gtc01rr. no eighteen inch on the gtf1s?

OjiGeorge 04-22-2014 07:23 PM

SO these guys are creating a low pressure zone in the cast to elongate the alloy without adding air bubbles? I'm not understanding the science behind their new process. Wouldn't this cause the wheel to become more brittle under impact?

MR2Chuck 04-22-2014 08:01 PM

[Some race teams run dual valves for speed and something else..but basically it helps crews do their jobs faster ]

One valve: air hose
One valve: air pressure gauge

ohhh... i did not know that!

jdmblood 04-22-2014 10:37 PM

these wheels are gorgeous though

stueck9356 04-22-2014 10:54 PM

2 valve stems also helps in properly purging all air from the tires when filling with nitrogen I've herd.. put nitrogen in on top, and open up the bottom to release the air.

sdemo 04-22-2014 10:58 PM

Air is 70% Nitrogen, so you're effectively replacing air with air!

If anything, I could see it used to standardize air pressure across tires on the same side of the vehicle. Connect an air hose between a nipple on the front and rear, then use the other to add or remove air. Still, gimmicky.

stueck9356 04-23-2014 03:55 PM

Either way if they make the GTF1 in a Gunmetal color sign me up for a set of 17x9! Hope these fit.

Sweet!

Can you please weight them when you get them? also, where did you buy them from?

puma 05-06-2014 04:13 PM

yeah we will weight them and we bought them locally in a speed shop, they are easy to get around here since the builder is local.

psyclone07 05-06-2014 05:43 PM

Nice can't wait to see result.

pics of them on an 86??

hmong337 05-17-2014 01:17 PM

I've been eyeballing these forever. Didn't want the news to get out because these will turn into the new Enkei Rpf1.

I want the 17x9 +35. 17lbs and at under $200 a wheel, that's really hard to beat!

BRZ-y 05-17-2014 01:20 PM

Ok which shop in Los Angeles is going to distribute these first? Anybody want my money?

Fly Guy 05-18-2014 01:28 AM

Nice wheels! Can anyone confirm if the details are silver or white?

Looks white under bright lights, but is actually machined silver... no paint.

No one else has them... yet.

If someone does... POST THEM HERE!!!

puma 05-20-2014 08:15 PM

well i said i would post pics so here they are, not on the car though and it will take a while before i do, race car build in progress, i am in a wiring nightmare right now.

For those wondering, the inside is silver, it is just machined in fact but under strong light it does kind of look like white. That would be a good place to paint though to give the same accent as your car's color... guess what we will do ;)

anyway, we used to run Enkei RPF1 on our race car but the bolt pattern isn't the same so we can't reuse them, we needed new wheels and decided to try something else.

So here is a little comparo with the RPF1. First, they are both the same spec, just different bolt pattern, 17x9 Et +35

The RPF1 weight 15,6 lbs
the GPF1 weight 16,8 lbs so this is a 1,2lbs advantage for the Enkei.
Price, well the GPF1 is litterally half price.

The finish is good, they are made in China but they still look good.

They are a tiny bit wider. The lip on the outside is thicker and seems more solid. The RPF1 are weak and break easily with such a low weight, let's hope the GPF1 are more solid. GPF1 also have dual tire valves, this will help in the pit taking quick pressure. I wish they would offer them in different color though like silver at least.

Too bad the hub bore isn't correct. Hub center rings are needed from Amazon, which are cheap.

I might get these, do you know the correct size rings needed?

Thanks in advance.

Aluminum hubcentric rings 73.1mm OD to 56.1mm ID. You can put that right into Amazon and it will come right up.

Plastic ones will crack and break easier so I went with metal.

Hello mate, I'm looking to run these alloys too and have been wondering on the hubcentric ring sizes. Can you post up a link to the Amazon product you use pls?

Cheers.
