Notice the GT3RS massive hp advantage, my car begs for more power ;) and better brakes since I experienced some fade issue..it was a nice baseline IMO

Can't wait to meet you on the track!

glamcem 04-20-2014 01:17 PM

^^ It was a lot of fun :) Hopefully you can make it next time.
I will post some pictures and videos when I finish editing. I am loving these NT01s they handle like a dream

Lonewolf 04-20-2014 04:13 PM

That list of stuff to be installed looks promising...eagerly awaiting updated pics :party0030:

Burrcold 04-20-2014 05:11 PM

Great list! Can't wait to see it finished.

glamcem 04-21-2014 02:03 PM

I will do my best to post everything about the progression . In the meantime, I've added couple videos of the track events I attended this past weekend and updated my first post and will continue adding new videos. I think I am the fastest stock powered BRZ at both tracks unless otherwise posted ;)

glamcem 04-21-2014 03:09 PM

Nexus 7 and Torque app seems to be working fine to take logs for the most part (in both events) my coolant temps were at around ~95 degrees (F) which is good but I saw oil temps rose up to ~265-270 (F) hopefully OEM oil cooler will help reduce those oil temps. I am glad I was running Mobil 1 0W-40 since it looked good between sessions.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-J...-h399-no/3.jpg

Stoptech brakes on the other hand could've been better since I noticed slight fade, I will soon get some Carbotech or Raybestos St43 or equivalent pads and separate rotors so that they can bind well together..
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-_...-h399-no/4.JPG

Tires also seems to be holding fine and pressures were stable at around 35 psi between sessions..

Here are some pictures of my car and friends' Mx-5 Miata and Lotus:

I can fit 4 wheels and tires, track stuff (jacks, helmets, tq wrench, ..etc) with no problem

Not a lot of white evo's running around The Ridge. If you had it at The Ridge in 2012 with Ridge Racing School, there's a really good chance that I was your instructor that day.

I haven't attended any racing school with Ridge and I am fairly new to the Seattle area (moved here in October 2012 from Florida) I will look forward to meeting you one of those events though :)

booyaka 04-24-2014 10:51 PM

hey, it was nice meeting you today. I picked up the lip from you in Factoria. Sorry but what was your name again? I'm really bad with names.

Nice meeting you too, I hope you like the lip

A Little update: I've installed Perrin OP, Invidia Catless FP and Tsudo Catback.. It was an easy install but time consuming maybe it's because I am not that to install parts in general :) It took me about 4 hours (could've been faster but I took my time).

I will soon post pictures and video, sound is not annoying on the highway and catback is pretty quite but with nice tone ..

glamcem 04-25-2014 05:38 PM

after driving little more that it's not that "quite" but it's not really loud too.. if this is a quiet option I wonder how much it would get louder with other exhaust setups..maybe I am just getting old :)

glamcem 05-04-2014 03:43 AM

A few more updates:

ADD W1 Catch can installed
Perrin OP installed
Invidia Catless FP installed
Tsudo Catback installed

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-1...h399-no/13.jpg
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-A...h399-no/26.JPG

I love the exhaust sound and am happy with being on the quiet side ..my previous experience with Catback exhausts were not good :)

glamcem 05-06-2014 03:12 PM

Ok a few more updates I've installed everything but haven't filled the canister with oil or started priming yet since it was getting late last night ..overall, it took me about one and a half day to install the kit but I took my time and had to make a few trips to home depot and harbor freight..also since I have been also installing my radiator and OEM oil cooler I had to be strategic so I wouldn't double the efforts ;) I installed everything in this order
  • clamps to prevent leaks
  • bumper removal and oil cooler install (since jacking and air box removal involved)
  • Koyo Radiator install and adding coolant
  • putting back the stock air box and test run to see everything works fine
  • without putting back bumper remove the box again (2 mins job)
  • started installing the KW kit

glamcem 05-07-2014 07:47 PM

I have just learned that my FA 500 coilovers have been shipped !! I will post some pictures upon arrival :)

glamcem 05-07-2014 11:16 PM

and here are some pictures of the completed setup

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-A...h495-no/26.JPG

oil cooler fitment tight but shouldn't be an issue
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-4...h691-no/27.JPG

for those who are concerned with KoyoRadiator and its fitment with this kit, I'd say go for it.. I put the intake tube by removing radiator support and slightly trim the plastic part on the radiator shroud ( about 3-5mm at most) so fitment not an issue at all..

also while at it, I removed the fog lights and put some mesh screens to fit the custom brake ducting that I will soon start working on it ;)

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-b...h495-no/29.JPG

my track setup is ready to be installed (with extra set of brake fluids)..

Great looking build. Very well thought out and purpose built. Would love to hear your thought of the Kraftwerks products when you have some drive time.

Keep it up.

Thanks. My tuner (Mike from Moto-East tuning) sent me the revised tune so hopefully I can upload it with Ecutek today. If everything goes well I am planning to attend a few more track days this month so that I can provide more data and initial thoughts about KW and track use :)

glamcem 05-14-2014 08:45 PM

wow car pulls really rally hard after the new tune also my coilovers arrived I will soon provide more pictures and info

glamcem 05-17-2014 11:39 PM

ok here are a few more updates :) I have installed my coilovers and drove down to Firestone for alignment with the camber plates my friend was able to get -3.0 fronts and -2.5 and -2.8 at the rear wheels.. so far I am really happy with the improvement

Also I have to add I think Fortune Auto did a great job on packaging and they are pretty responsive when you need some assistance which is a big plus for me since I am not familiar with adjustable coilovers ..

glamcem 05-17-2014 11:58 PM

my custom brake ducting didn't work most likely due to bigger size of the hose :) I will have to find a better way to feed more air into the inner fender well, see below pictures

do yourself a favor and make sure you completely removed your ABS sensor before even removing the hubs

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-1...h729-no/49.jpg

and of course I have no ABS and traction control at the moment :)

glamcem 05-18-2014 12:01 AM

on the way to RMP I noticed that I still could get 30.3 mpg, I wasn't even trying :)
maybe it's because of the traffic in front of me (drafting) but I was able to get about the same on the way back
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-S...h560-no/50.jpg

and some shots fron the lapping event with coilovers 1.5" drop all around

I think you cannot go wrong with either  KW had a group buy, at that price it's really hard to pass though

I am debating between this kit and the JRSC The GB really makes it hard.

to be perfectly honest even if the price was a bit higher I would still get the KW over the JR for the obvious reasons, with the GB offered by KW it's like a no brainer to me, to each his own, of course ;)

the first post has been updated so it now reflects the more up to date information about the camber/coilover settings..

I also received the revised map and car seems to be running even smoother now :)

I will include a few more photos regarding the updates ..

Nice build bro !

glamcem 05-27-2014 09:09 PM

I took my car to Drift Office today for a dyno session :) I am really happy with the results

heat wrapped the intake piping and placed the .5" Boomba racing vacuum check valve (on PCV oil catch can)
