Removing wheel well liners

I'm thinking of removing the inner plastic wheel well liners to so I have more clearance when low.

It's already full of holes from my tyres scrubbing on it anyway thus the idea of removing it completely.

Has anyone done it? Bad idea?

Please don't reply if you cannot offer anything constructive.

Cheers.

I remember reading somewhere on the forum that removing the liner will raise the under hood pressure. Other than that I don't see why it would make a difference

You'll kick all sorts of road crap into all sorts of nasty places. I'd look at modifying them. They're there for a reason.

Still question this but there is no way a wheel well liner will still be there for rocket bunny cars, took mine off after the RB conversion, barely drive the car though so I'm not sure about road crap.

Bringing this back from the dead. My car did not come with wheel well liners, I am sure if the debris could really hurt the car that bad Scion wouldn't of sold a car without them, my next question.... anyone wanna sell a set? :D

D_Thissen 05-31-2015 03:15 PM

Really? Was the car used? I find it hard to believe it doesn't have wheel well liners.

Fnbeast86 05-31-2015 03:23 PM

A lot of people rip them out letting your car breath more

Are you thinking of mudflaps?

If you don't have fender liners, you'll be able to see your tires from inside the engine bay.

I've actually always been curious what the Rocket Bunny people do for this. Anyone want to chime in?

Brand new, and all the ones on my lot also don't have them. All I have are the front ones that don't allow me to see my tires from the engine bay and even then its just that part, everything else is just metal showing with what looks to be some sort of insulation sprayed on there...

I found a picture of these online and I definitely don't have this, but would like to buy them...

Not mudflaps I know what those are, I am talking about the pic I posted above... My car doesn't have that.

I don't think anyone has the rear one? 99.9% sure that's the first time I've seen one.

I wonder if its new to the Series Blue. My car is also a 2015 but doesn't have them, maybe the series blue has always brought them?

dubbrand 06-01-2015 02:00 PM

I bought my 2013 new and mine came with the rear ones as shown in that picture

No... Just the limited model. I lowered my rear some more yesterday and had to lift them up a little to adjust my coilovers.

Vroomin86 06-01-2015 03:43 PM

Sounds like they might be more of a PITA than a positive thing. I like the black wheel well though.

adamg 06-01-2015 03:57 PM

they are a pita when it comes to adjusting your coils

brianhj 06-01-2015 04:21 PM

I have a 2013 frs and mine came with front and rear like in pic
