The GT86 TRD of the North
 

Hello

As the title suggest I live in the North, more specific Norway, a small country in the North part of Europe.

Work: Electrical Technician Officer at a PSV, we are mostly in the North Sea, but I have also been working along the whole coast of Norway, the Barents sea, and at Marocco in the North Atlantic.

When I found out that this was the car for me: When saw the FT86II back in late 2009 early 2010, I knew this was the car I wanted to get one day. So on the 10th of January 2014, I ordered my GT86 TRD, and on the 11th of April I finally got my dream car! :-D

Tracks & laptimes:
Norway: Rudskogen raceway, 1min 58sec I like to go sideways...
Norway: Vålerbanen, it was raining really hard, forgot to take lap times.
Germany: Nürburgring, about 10min, I didn't drive that hard.

Roadtrips with fellow 86/BRZ owners: Back in 2014, we in the Norwegian ft86 Club, 3 GT86 and a BRZ. Took an Roadtrip from Norway to Nürburgring, then to Switzerland where we met up with Killerbee from this forum, and hit the Swiss alps, before we went a little tour to north Italy and back again!

Nice! Congrats! I have really always liked that blue and the pearl white. Those plus Raven are the best 3 color options IMO. Enjoy the ride!

You probably can, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't :) Best way to find out is to ask your local dealer :)

Nice to see a TRD model in Norway.

Sounds like yours is similar to the TRD model we get here but without the TRD brakes.

Looks great with black wheels on the blue.

Yeah, the problem with the break kit, is that it cost about a whopping 17k USD, here in Norway.. so I didn't get em.

But if I feel the need to upgrade the brakes I will probably import them myself from Japan or get brembo.

I'm now stuck at the ship for about 3 more weeks now, but we are in Morocco on a job atm, at least we got nice weather.. But I would rather be home driving :-P

No I bought the Seibon Carbon hood from a place called BadAssParts Norway, but Toyota put it on for free :)

Future plans is to attend Gatebil at Vålerbanen in Norway for show, if you guys don't know what Gatebil is, then I feel sorry for you.. After the trackday event, it is aftertrack party that is just insane.... Just go over to speedhunters and read their stuff about gatebil ;)

I will also add some new parts when I get home, that I ordered from FT86Speedfactory.

YAY Norway. I got to visit Bergen when we stopped at the Submarine base near there. I had a great time, it's beautiful. And so are the women. I would love to go back sometime, not on the Navy's time...

Yeah Bergen is a nice place, we used to have Bergen as base for the last ship I worked on ;) But if you ever take the trip to Norway again, try to go to Gatebil at Rudskogen when the summer event is (12-15 July this year ), it's epic! Normally the guys from speedhunters are there, last year Fredric Aasbø, Mad Mike and Gitten Jr. Was there drifting ;-) and yeah Fredric always use his GT86-X at gatebil ;)

Be sure to get some go pro footage of your time at the Ring! What other mod plans do you have for the car? I assume, full exhaust and tune is in the works as well as more suspension tuning for the track? It is looking good and I love your garage! \m/

Yeah I want to get a header, overpipe and frontpipe but that is some where in the future...

For the suspension I got the TRD adjustable suspension, so gotta tune it some more when I get to the track, but for now I will keep it at this height, or else I can't drive where I live :(

TRD FTW! Did the TRD E Brake boot not fit since its LHD?

Indeed, it's only RHD :( But I will find some one that can make something that looks the same, but for LHD!

Also I will soon update with my trip to the Nürburgring and the Alps tour (yes it was epic, and the car worked like a champ even on 2500 meters!)

Hehe, yeah, nothing much has happend as of now, I have changed the front pipe, so I have removed the cat.

But I got TRD performance intake on order, and some spacers and I will attend Springmeet 2015 in Tønsberg :)

So more updates will arrive then.

I guess that means someone has to put a cat back on in january 2018? Or will it pass emissions test without it?

About vids I got a horrible upload speed at home, so a 23sec vid takes about 24hours, and my vid from the Nüburgring will take about 1 week to upload, thats why I havent uploaded that one as of yet..

The sound is so much better IRL, it's darker/meaner than original but not louder :burnrubber:
And it's improved the accelerating a bit, that might be some placebo effect thou :bonk:
