Entire car plasti dipped

So has anyone else plasti dipped their whole car? Just got mine done last week in Sazuka Blue Pearl with a satin finish.

Thanks!

longhornjoe 04-06-2014 07:16 PM

Very nice, man. That matte blue with the black lip/skirts/spats and wheels is a good look.

Mikem53 04-06-2014 07:22 PM

Looking good !

I can't wait till I save up the cash to get the Driveway Labs black rear diffuser.

Simon99 04-06-2014 07:47 PM

Looks sick bro but try to take some high res of the car.. To me its looks like blue Play-Doh

ProjectGT86 04-06-2014 07:51 PM

thats because its plasti dipped, he can peel it off whenever he wants

Crazy Drew 04-06-2014 07:53 PM

While I like the color and the idea of the versatility of plastidip, I wish this hadn't won "best PAINT"

I know what plastidip is thank you very much. I'd just like to see a higher res pic, because in the pics it looks more like bondo and killing lines of the car rather than a smooth application, which im sure it is.

Dake 04-06-2014 08:58 PM

Looks awesome, but how could you win "Best Paint"? :D :D

funwheeldrive 04-06-2014 11:13 PM

Why did you go with plasti dip over vinyl? Just curious.

Probably because dip is cheaper and easier than vinyl.

I did chuckle over the plastic/rubber coated car winning "best paint"

PAPI007 04-06-2014 11:23 PM

MaddBaggins 04-06-2014 11:31 PM

I'm looking to dip my entire car too! Was thinking something along this color as well. I'm getting sick of my Ultramarine.

It was judged by everyone who attended, they passed out ballet cards and had the crowd vote.

As far as Plasti Dip goes, it looks great!
As far as paint goes, it looks Plasti Dip.

It's honestly the best looking dipped FR-S I've seen.

WolfsFang 04-07-2014 05:39 PM

Looks amazing, I plan on dipping my own car maybe next year.

My friend just dipped his car maybe a month ago

CruiseZen 04-07-2014 06:35 PM

Just wondering, what's the reasonable life expectancy of Plasti Dip on a large surface subjected to all that a car's paint is subject to? What type of maintenance does it require?

From what I've read ~3 years is the life expectancy and as far as maintenance goes, just keep it clean and that's about it.

CamryDS 04-07-2014 07:35 PM

Praise the craftsmanship, not a fan of the actual look of the car afterwards... I feel as though the color is too flat and boring on the shape of the car to turn any heads. not to say that the work wasn't well done -- from the pics, it looked pretty perfect.

It depends on the color, how it was done, etc but some come out pretty good and some look bad. The hood thing is it's pealable.

Wow nice chameleon effect thing

^^^ I work for a vinyl wrapping company and we charge 2,000 for an frs. I don't know any company that would charge 3,500 for an 86

MeehowsBRZ 04-08-2014 08:56 PM

Actually looks cool. In for some hi res pics as well!
