Intec Japan Tail Lights Installed

I always wanted the SARD tails for the FRS but couldnt justify $900 on tail lights. That's when I stumbled upon the group buy 86Worx was doing on the brand new Intec Japan lights modeled after a 458 Italia Ferrari.

Well mine arrived on Tuesday from the Motherland and I got around to installing them today.

Before installing them onto the car make sure you repin the lights, to do this you will want to switch the yellow and blue wires.

Straight forward installation, make sure you use the provided washer because if you don't you will strip the bolt out of the tail lights. I did this but was able to get them secure again. The washers also stop the nut from breaking thru the wall of the tail light area. You remove the stock reverse light harness so make sure you can reach under your car. After that it's just connecting the female to male connectors. Can't confuse it at all. Plug and play.

Onto the pics.

Looks good!

Burrcold 04-03-2014 10:09 PM

Nice! A little too...Cobaltish for my tastes though.

headlikeahole 04-03-2014 10:31 PM

I want someone to make flush tails like this but that are clear all over not made to match the body. Just normal tail lights, but flush.

Gilwith1l 04-03-2014 10:34 PM

Looks good

DIM 04-03-2014 11:37 PM

It looks horrible IMO.

Turbo95eg6 04-04-2014 12:18 AM

Where's the rest of the taillights?

SixSpeed 04-04-2014 01:57 AM

No...just no!

ZionsWrath 04-04-2014 02:01 AM

First pic looks like a photoshop lol

Not feeling it

psybre 04-04-2014 02:22 AM

I want so badly to like it, I even thought about it for mine in the same hot lava, but... I just can't.

But it is simple, which I really like.

Snowblind 04-04-2014 02:45 AM

Looks like something the Honda Civic crowd would do.

DaJo 04-04-2014 02:49 AM

Something different; I like! BUT not something I would personally add to my car...

Chen 04-04-2014 04:05 AM

Is it just an orange piece where the rest of the tail light is supposed to be?

z3ro 04-04-2014 09:42 AM

Its very Need for Speed Underground II 'ish

nphillip 04-04-2014 09:46 AM

IMO, they'll only look good on a black frs/brz.

STS-V 04-04-2014 10:14 AM

congrats on your new Cobalt.

Crazy Drew 04-04-2014 04:36 PM

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

leicaboss 04-04-2014 06:29 PM

Looks a billion times better than the Spyder, Shark Tube, and other garbage that's out there though.

RRnold 04-04-2014 06:32 PM

Ewwww!! Now it looks like a fake Ferrari!

It's all in the one circle light. Brake/Running lights, then amber turn signal circle, then in the center is the reverse lights.

lamptaco 04-04-2014 07:54 PM

I can dig it.

so buddy club fake lambo tails are kool then right?

leicaboss 04-04-2014 08:31 PM

Buddy Club tails are hideous, absolutely hideous.

I can't say these Intecs are amazing (I'm partial to Toms) but they honestly look a lot better than some of the other cheap, ricer-looking offerings out there.

With the other half of the exhaust! :bonk:

JPxM0Dz 04-04-2014 09:46 PM

These tails are nice, so are Buddy Clubs! Everybody enjoy your choice in mods and forget all the negativity ;)

Seems like it's in need of a smaller inner light, IMO. Also, from a side 3/4 view (2nd and especially 3rd pic) the way the lines flow looks a bit off for some reason. In either case, it's not my cup of tea but if someone digs it then by all means go for it.

Eh, different tastes for different people. I personally love my buddy clubs, the make the rear end look more aggressive and they are amazing when driving at night. To each, their own.

+1

Nope, those are ugly too. IMO, I these as the same level as putting fake Altezza tails that were rice back then.

Kiske 04-04-2014 11:25 PM

It bothers me too much that the old tail light shape is still there. Perhaps had they been molded in I could like them. Squint and they look great :D lol

The paint work and fitment looks solid though.

Exactly! Maybe we should have guys start posting pics of their GF and we can decide what's ugly and what's not :eyebulge:

Kostamojen 04-05-2014 04:36 AM

I think they might look better on a darker color.

lol I agree. I really don't like the round light look. I'll admit they're a bit better than stock, but that's just cause I like having something different.

I'd much rather have Buddy Club's lights.

The red outer ring on the lights blend in better. They just stick out way to much on all other colours. I had the same thought. I still think they look really out of place.

derekk 04-28-2014 01:44 PM

anyone have any pics of whiteout with these installed?

disregard... google is amazing.

projectXTR 04-28-2014 02:36 PM
