First of all, congrats. Second of all, rain is a bad excuse. I was outside grilling in the rain tonight. :D Post up them pics!

Rampage 05-13-2012 08:39 PM

Thanks, y'all :)

Fine, fine. Here are some pics we took while we were at King's, before we took it out in the rain.

The last one if Abbi the Labby. She's quite passed out.

I put about 108 miles on it today for a total of 118 on the odometer. Working my way toward that 1k miles, so I can exceed 4k on the tach. I'm hoping to get it broken in before the next Cincinnati region SCCA autocross in 3 weeks.

Lonewolf 05-13-2012 10:48 PM

Congrats!

I know an awesome way to put some miles on her before auto-X....
...take it to Tire Rack in Indiana so they can take photos and measurements for their interactive wheel guide ;)

First of all, beautiful car, and congratulations!

I thought so too, but the official percentages say otherwise. I think it just seems more popular because the earliest deliveries have mostly been white.

RRnold 05-14-2012 02:28 PM

Looking good!! Congrats! :happy0180:

I think the chart is before many of the First 86ers switched over to white after seeing it in Long Beach. I'm sure it's top color pick now.

Ohhh that's right - I forgot a bunch of people switched around since then.

Maybe in time owners will share enoguh data to get an accurate headcount of the First 86 colors and gearbox choices.

Picked mine up today, Whiteout manual trans had 11 miles on it when I picked it up, I'll post pictures tomorrow. The dealer had lunch for the whole dealership, good old barbecue, beans and slaw with sweet tea, it's a southern thing.

Gifts I got: Carbon fiber plate frame, pen (both are numbered 21 of 86), another hat,two shirts and $100 gas card

I took the car to another dealer they haven't seen one and asked if I would, I hope no one was there to by a car because all of the sales guys were around the FR-S taking pictures and asking lots of questions

Congrats!
I like the Whiteout and it looks even better in person but I chose Asphalt. I already own a white car, I wanted something different like Dark Grey Metallic/Asphalt.

I think the problem with wanting a cheap car is that it's exactly what you get. Is it $25 000 too expensive though? I'm just wondering whether the toyobaru is a bit like an ugly child that only a mother would love.

This post confuses me.

I think it will be that beautiful child that the World State is mass cloning and letting everyone have one for a cheap price.

And he grows into a strong, hardworking member of society. Plus he is still a handsome devil.

What were we talking about again?

Glad it wasn't just me confused :)

Brett,

That interior photo reminds me why I enjoy simple HVAC controls. Just yesterday I was driving my heavy & overly-complicated sedan which will remain nameless and I couldn't figure out how to get air pointed on my feet. While looking down to fool with it, someone pulled out in front of me. Fortunately I always leave a safety bubble but still -- I looked up from adjusting my "ohhh sooo fancy" dual zone climate controls and a car had darted out in front of me. Meanwhile you're just getting used to that one-knob control which will soon become second nature.

MarkRacerX 05-16-2012 12:49 PM

Enjoy !! Great Color Choice :)
