removing chrome fender trim?
Has anyone removed the shitty chrome fender trim that some of the brz came with? Of all the optional equipment my car came with this is the only thing I can't stand.
I debadged the trunk as was wondering if I could do the same (hairdryer/googone) and just take some time and be delicate, see if that works. |
same question but for the FRS's boxer emblem. I know I can take it off, but is there a way to fill in the gaps it leaves?

As this is a dealer installed piece, the chrome is literally stuck over the oem paint with double sided tape. It pulls off quite easily...easier with a heat gun.
the 86 emblem is essentially riveted onto the piece. |
The chrome piece should come right off if you pry on it. It's a thin piece of plastic.

Wait are you talking about the chrome fender trim on the brz? Is it just a cover over the regular color matched part? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have switched to a clear side marker, and I'd rather like the chrome fender trim on my WRB which I do not have.
Anyone of you have a salvageable piece willing to sell? :) |

I bought mine from a user that took it off as well. Heck, I didn't even replace it with fresh double sided tape. I wiped off my fender trim with alcohol and stuck on the chrome piece with whatever tape was still on it. |
Sorry I threw mine out

Mine is like "countersunk" into the trim piece. How did you guys get under it? I always use floss for debadging, but it doesn't look like there's room for it...

I had my fender emblem painted matte black, I dribe an asphalt FRS, looks dope.

Pics of these removed?

I just got my black fender trims in the mail today.
I will be installing them tomorrow. I plan on buying some heavy pound tested fishing line to remove chrome ones. I don't want to use heat gun, as it will be low 90s tomorrow here. Does anybody know if Goo Gone is needed? |
