llcoolchris77 is a scammer.

Just wanted to make a thread to let other members know that llcoolchris77 is a scammer.

His trading thread:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60956

I have talked to the moderators about him and they advised me to make a thread here, so nobody will get scammed by him again.

I have gather a lot of information about him. Just not sure it's even legal to post them here.

Basically, he posted up a TRD catback for $300. I sent him a Paypal payment. He stopped responding to my PM/emails after.

Well, he did emailed me couple times. He was supposed to ship out the exhaust on last Tuesday. He didn't, so I emailed him about the status. He said he was too busy and would send it out on Wednesday. He didn't. On Thursday, I sent him multiple emails regarding the status of the item, he simply said he texted me the tracking #. He didn't.

After that, he simply ignored all the emails that I had sent. Probably put me on spam email.

I wanted to send him $300+3% as a paypal standard payment, but he insisted that he needed the money to ship out the exhaust. So, I ended up gifting the paypal. I knew some things sounded a little suspicious, but we went through +20 PMs and he sounded pretty honest. Oh, he emailed me new photos of the exhaust too.

And it was just $300, so I took a chance. If it was anything more than $300, I wouldn't have jumped on it.

Since the paypal payment was sent as a gift, I know I won't be getting any of that back. Just wanted to let other fellow members to know that this guy is a scammer.

My friend found a lot of his personal information including his pictures/phone number/name/his 3 email addresses/his other car & plate number/instagram/other forums that he is involved in.

At this point, I know I'm not getting any of my money back nor any piece of TRD catback exhaust.

Is it even legal to post all those in this thread? Wasn't sure, so didn't post any yet.

Thanks guys.

Oh by the way, to take away the sadness away, I jumped on a great deal on JDM exhaust tips on last Saturday from a very cool local FRS owner. :D

Yea, don't gift on paypal... :(

Burrcold 03-24-2014 08:04 PM

That's shitty man. Go handle your business with him face to face ;)

Yeah, I didn't think any 86 owners would be a douchebag to scam other 86 owners.

To be honest, I've met a lot of local 86 owners and everyone is super cool and chill.

He used to live in Maryland (his 77 VW car has a Maryland plate on it) but supposedly moved to Nebraska. I'm in LA.

And it's $300. Not large enough to make a drama out of it. Nobody wins.

Really just hope he'll become a better person in the future. lol Maybe he's just too young and needed some cash to party or something. :D

leicaboss 03-24-2014 08:14 PM

Well, you should try pursuing this somehow - $300 is quite a bit of money.

I've sold tons of things via gift payment (me being the receiver of gift payments), and while I was an honest seller and in total control of that, I couldn't say the same for others. That being said, I'm willing to shell out the extra few bucks or just negotiate the price to include the transaction fee.

Good luck man!

Kimsey47 03-24-2014 08:17 PM

Check out and see if he has a record. Some scammer did this to a friend over football tickets... Turned out dude was on parole and after a friendly call to his parole officer the scammer was in the slammer. Poetic justice!

I don't know how to pursue this. I've done plenty of transactions online. Never have been the victim of scamming. I mean I even have his phone number but I'm sure he'll just ignore me. haha

Usually I add 3% and make the payment as a standard. And gift the payment to the people I know.

Thanks man! :)

luuser75 03-24-2014 08:24 PM

wow. i knew that price was too good to be true...

also what's the difference between gifting it vs. the 300 plus 3%? wouldn't he still be getting 300 either way or would gifting it go to his account faster?

dbrandt01 03-24-2014 08:25 PM

Guys like that always make it bad for sellers. Like me I put up something for sale, but having no trader rating makes it hard. I've sold stuff on truck forums though. It's always nerve racking buying from others, but it has it's benefits at the same time.

Good thread though, i remember seeing that and thinking it was a hell of a deal.

As long as payment is sent the normal way and not gift it shouldn't matter you have no rating, the buyer has some level of recourse.

Yes, he gets $300 either way.

But I think gifting payment will let him transfer the fund to his bank account right away.

And he is basically "protected" from getting shafted by Paypal. Even if I call Paypal and files a dispute, they won't do anything since it wasn't sent as a standard.

They may suspend his account for breaking the terms of service (using gifting for a sale of goods). Not sure how that works though.

Carlitoz3 03-24-2014 08:33 PM

300 isn't a lot, but it's still $ Sorry that happened to you.
Thanks for the heads up

OP also violated terms of service by sending a gift as payment for a good or service. Innocent as the intentions were, it was still done to avoid the service fee. Maybe the seller coerced the OP but that is the fact. Reporting it may get both their accounts in trouble, but hey worth a shot for 300$

Funktional 03-24-2014 08:40 PM

I work in corrections. A lot of the career criminals who are currently rotting away in prison started out doing small time stuff like this. It's only a matter of time until this guy is walking the corridor in a prison with just about all of his liberties taken away. Sorry you got scammed, let this be a lesson to others about using the gift option on Paypal......

As for the scammer.......you can tell yourself that you won't get caught. No matter how smart you think you are this kind of stuff will catch up to you.

This is also true. Probably not worth the risk to create a mild inconvenience for the dbag.

IP address, phone #, paypal email. shouldn't be too hard to pull something up?

I found his phone number / car / plate number / 2 paypal emails / 3 personal emails / his picture already.

What can I do with those information though?

Do I call a cop? haha

Just curious!

husker741 03-24-2014 08:56 PM

I know a lot of people back in my home state of Nebraska that don't take kindly to his kind. Just sayin'.

JS + BRZ 03-24-2014 09:11 PM

His Instagram:

http://instagram.com/llcoolchris77

The page was open to public when I checked it out the first time. I told him "nice car you have there on your instagram!".

A day after, he made his page completely private.

This is his car and his Maryland plate:

post up his name and work phone number. that is public information so no harm in it. lets have everyone call requesting information on the $300 cat back that was stolen. he may be willing to not answer your calls and ignore your emails, but i can assure you if his job is on the line because he is taking personal calls dozens of times per day, he will get back to you asap!

as long as nobody is a **** to the company and says something along the lines of "hi, I'd like to speak to John Doe about the stolen exhaust." after 4 calls, people will look at him like wtf? after 20 calls, his boss will have a chat about his personal life taking company time, after 40+ calls he will be in touch with the OP to have this stopped.

Does McDonalds have a land line for personal calls?

I'd just post his cell number in the comments section of every fap video you watch.

Damn that sucks, guess if something is too good to be true then it is. I followed that post also, I saw you jump on that exhaust fast and was a little disappointed I missed out but I guess not too much anymore. I hope you get this resolved.

N1rve 03-24-2014 10:01 PM

POST EVERYTHING. :D

Try searching him up on LinkedIn :)

Yknow what? Make an ENTIRE blog about him. So that when people google him for his next interview...and this comes up in the background check... ho ho ho :)

husker741 03-24-2014 10:20 PM

Make a free pit bull puppies add on Craigslist.

bobaab 03-24-2014 10:21 PM

Didn't someone else get scammed recently? Exact same scenario. Never use the gift option, although I have in the past...I guess people were more honest back then.

Sorry about the loss. Other option is to contact your bank and tell them what happened. They might be able to help.

Turbo95eg6 03-24-2014 10:21 PM

This kind of stuff brings my piss to a boil

Chauntalei 03-24-2014 10:52 PM

Just a heads up, check the post history before you deal with someone.

Same guy claimed to have sold the same exhaust back in November for $550-600:

I'm not sure anybody has clearly answered your question. PayPal offers purchase protection up to a certain limit on items you buy online and pay for using PayPal. If you don't get what you ordered, you can file a claim with PayPal to get the money back.

However, that's only if you send a payment and not a gift. If you use the gift option, you don't pay the transaction fee, but you're telling PayPal that you're actually giving the money to the other person, not buying something with it. Since there's no transaction as far as PayPal is concerned, they don't offer any protection for it.

Never use the gift option (unless you're actually giving someone money). The insurance is worth the 3% fee. That would have been $9 on this transaction.

I haven't sold anything using PayPal. Is there any legitimate reason for a seller to insist on the gift option?

I like your train of thought but I'd go one step further. OP, post an ad on Craigslist casual encounters m4m. Post his phone number stating if he doesn't pick up, leave a voicemail of the ad responder 'climaxing'. Then post all of his email addresses requesting the most aggressive and explicit photos Craigslist m4m casual encounters has to offer.

Then grab a beer and relax, because for that kind of justice/entertainment, its the best $300 you've ever spent.

RhafikJaan 03-24-2014 11:43 PM

I wouldn't ever gift to someone unless I know the person has sold a few times on here before // or I know him through someone.. I think the issue is we don't to pay the 3% and for future I think both buyer and seller should split the 3% cost.. Just my opinion..

RhafikJaan 03-24-2014 11:45 PM

Also one more thing... I think "WE" buyers should also always ask for new pics with a paper next to it showing date time user name.. Iv seen this on other forums.. Because most time with scammers they would use other peoples pictures or use there own picture of when the item was new.. Anyways I'm sorry you lost your money and hope you get our money back.. Goodluck

Thieves like this makes me sick. Why hesitate to post good info? Just post and let the community do the rest. For the most part I am impressed by level of maturity and resurrect on this board. Story for your loss. Never gift via PayPal to stranger...remember, he might be a dog.

Will post more of his information in like 30 minutes!

Wish I know anyone in Maryland so he can call his numbers. That way he will likely answer it. Haha
