After test drive in Long Beach, CA for 1st 86 Promo kinda forgot exactly how it felt.

Def was surprised how low you sit, steering very quick/precise, firm ride, but not overly if you are used to sporty cars. I am coming from a run of Subaru WRX/STi's and 135i/ 335Xi BMW's. Floors me how low the roof line is standing next to it! Car feels great for N/A 2.0L . This is my 1st N/A car in many years, I will appreciate the good Mpg from what I am used to. Insurance is just over $200 less than my 11' STi too !!!! Brakes feel great, shifts very smooth , I am really enjoying it so far!!

I LOVE THE SEATS!! They are soo superior than any of the STi seats, actually hold you. I was always soo jealous of my friends Evo seats, those Recaro's I always wanted in my Subaru's and these seats aren't quite like those, but pretty close!

I am near 180mi on it, enjoying ea mile and just feels GOOD! Stereo sounds pretty good for stock, I do miss not hearing any exhaust note, just intake growl. I have shift light set for 4k and been doing it as suggested to keep it under, seems like it just begins to start pulling and at 4k, what a tease! I plan to keep up driving most I can and Autocross next weekend!! Def Very Excited to see how it does, to learn its limits through the course!

This is a fun car for sure, Turbo cars are addictive and I do miss rush of TQ, but this is just different enjoyment! I took a fun drive through some nice windy corners and def doesn't sway anything near my Subaru's did, feels very solid / planted!

Nice. Looks great and makes me want my car. Any modding plans?

Definitely agree with you on your thoughts vs. the STI. The seats in the FR-S are better and the FR-S rolls/sways much less. Like you, I do worry I'll miss the midrange torque of my prior turbo cars, it's probably the only thing holding me back at the moment. I'd be curious to hear how you like the FR-S as time goes on.

BTW, the car looks fantastic in white!

congrats on the new car. since you've had some first hand experience with both the 335i and FRS how would you compare them driving-wise? I am coming from a 335i and am very curious as to how they compare.

Ugh, let's not talk about losing low-end grunt. I'll be cutting my HP and TQ in half going from the S4 to this... But losing 1,000lbs as well :thumbup:

Def whole new ballgame, getting in out, made my STi feel like an SUV!! Hahaha Loving the car, avg 24mpg so far almost 3/4 tank of 1st tank! I have shift light set at 4k Rpm and been tough to baby shift it.

I plan to Autocross, actually an event next weekend! I have been driving about 100mil ea day close to 300mi already!! Def Enjoying the car!! Sadly the club is saying since not 1000 sold yet, I can't run a stock class and mentioning Time Only or Super Stock ? Kinda lame, but I am Excited to just get behind the wheel and learn the cars handling :w00t:

I will race it stock and go from there, 1st mods will prob be wheels/tires/exhaust. Way too quiet for me coming from a run of WRX/STi's.

I am very curious to see info on TRD/ HKS Supercharge Pricing and dyno numbers.

Def AGREE! Everyone should get the FR-S Car cover, I would of thought Everyone would have same Swag, I don't get how some dealers didn't or weren't allocated some for Delivery Party ?

1st Tank of gas - GONE! About 300mi showing 26.9 avg Mpg. I drive mix of Hwy / City.

Haven't gone through my first tank yet, but I thought folks might find this of interest.

When I was first sitting in the car at the dealership, it had 7 miles on it, and the "avg. gas mileage" on the display was 17.2MPG. Means absolutely nothing except that it pretty much matched the lifetime average of my last DD at 17.5.

Only a real car geek would know that. :bonk:

I can't figure out why people care so much about "actual mpg."

I want to hear about the car after your first or second tank of gas is gone. Anything you didn't notice about the car (positive/negative) initially that you notice now. :thanks:

In the sun cameras tend to pick them up darker than they are. Although, the outer spokes stand out as silver.

Coming from Turbo cars, I will say for a small 2.0L I am enjoying the car more and more, sure no big Turbo Rush/TQ, But it makes pretty good TQ for daily driving, I find myself cruising 4th gear and even around 2500Rpms or so it Responds! Threw me off for low Rpm , small engine that it still has pick up that low.

I am enjoying the car, still getting in / out adjustment being soo sunk in / low takes a bit to swing legs out so I don't kick door or what not.

I am about to order Hankook RS3's soon, very curious to race next Autocross on 140 tread wear RS3s coming from the stock low resistance Oem tires. Still floored how flat/settled this car handles, Autocross was Great !!!

BeSpoke was installed and great looking deck, Nice pandora setup and easy to scroll songs " LIke " them and navigate USB songs , see folders and what not. Sadly I don't have an iPhone 4 which I learned I needed for BeSpoke App. But that is ok, will have one later on. Sound quality is Great for Oem stereo , prob near what my BMW 135/335 sound quality !!

Looking fwd to a catback once we have options, too quiet for me esp coming from many Subaru's, I miss some sort of Growl !!!!

Ordered my FR-S in March while I was in Torrance, CA for the FR-S measuring session at Toyota/Scion. Fast forward a couple months.........
I have just heard that my FR-S (in Whiteout of course) was at the port in Portland. I'm riding my CBR down the South Hill, and I see a Whiteout FR-S coming up the hill. I almost wrecked trying to turn my head fast enough to make sure I had actually seen it!!!

So from one Spokane FR-S owner to another...... CONGRATS!!!!!!!

Autocross #2, this time new Sticky Hankook RS3 - Love them !! Whole new level the handling !!

I took 3rd place, 2nd place was .6 faster than me, darn Miata!!

Nice, yeah it's amazing what you can take with you in this car when you put the seat down and start packing the car. Nice work so far on your FR-S. I'm liking the setup!

3rd Autocross event of year, Took 1st for the 1st time in the FR-S by .1 tenth!!! :)

#25th out of 50 racers overall, FR-S handles Great very happy w/ just wheels/tires.
