Picked up my BRZ yesterday
 

Picked up the Silver AT Limited BRZ from Carter Subaru in Shoreline. This was not a pre order BRZ but someone backed out on their order, so i picked it up when it was announced here :)

I've been lurking in the site but had to sign up and post a pic of my new baby!

On an "I'm so jealous" and not so congratulatory note, I hate that people are getting these things without having preordered and here in NC we don't have any VINs, ETAs, or really any information about anything at all (the dealers around Charlotte anyway won't even tell us their allotments for the year because "they weren't told").

Congratulations! It's amazing that you were able to get one before almost everyone by simply walking to the dealership and saying "I'll take that one". Looks like Seattle is getting flooded with these cars (relatively speaking).

Btw, I did pre-order a black 6MT Limited April 6. But I did need a car asap, so when I saw this opportunity I jumped at the chance.

I was also torn between MT and AT, but after driving the AT for a day I am not disappointed that I went with AT.

please tell those of us getting autos your thoughts...so many getting manuals...and a not a lot of love for the autos...

The best part about the auto is the auto blipping feature when you do a aggressive downshift. I only did it like 2 times since the engine is still being broken in.

Also I don't think I can shift as fast as the AT in the BRZ (not that I am super great at MT either). Coming from a AT 08 impreza this gearbox is like from the future! hehe

How is that front bracket mounted exactly? Are those bolts front to back through the bumper cover? Or is there something holding it from underneath?

What I really want to know is, if you remove that front bracket are you left with two visible holes in your bumper?

Thats the first thought that hit my mind as well. I've talked to my dealership several times about this. They know if they drill my front bumper I will summon Cthulhu to pay them a visit. :happy0180:

I just sent the manager at my dealership a text stressing to not drill holes in my bumper after i saw this lol

lol I've done the same thing! When I pre-ordered I asked for no holes, and I've sent a couple emails too. They said they're not going to, but they also understand my persistence :)

:coolpics: btw! I love the close-up. Got me thinking how I'll have to get my first photos ... perhaps in front of a mounted F-4 or SR-71 :)
EDIT: or an A-10.... yeah ... A-10 ...

I'm not so sure why people are so against it. It breaks up the front bumper quite nicely.

Also, you guys kind of come off as assholes stressing how much you don't want holes drilled into your bumper in a thread where somebody is posting pics of HIS CAR WITH HOLES DRILLED IN HIS BUMPER.

All of you guys getting your cars already are making me jealous! Time for me to start reaching out to other dealers to see if they have any abandoned pre-orders coming in soon! :P
