Nope! Well, sorta lol. I work up in Orange County during the week, and go to sd on the weekends.

Any excuse to go to GMR haha

With enough notice and an early start, I'd be willing to come up from O.C.

If I go during the day, I usually do San Gabriel Cyn (blue), then go up and down the backside (half upper red section) of GMR a couple times.

I don't like driving too spiritedly along the frontside of GMR because of traffic (bicycles, cars, bikes..). It's also common to see bikes and cars go over the yellow lines because of the decreasing radius corners..

In any case, canyons are best driven at night..

Excellent. Well let's decide on a day and do this. I went last Saturday afternoon and literally saw 2 cars the whole time. Weekend nights you usually get lots of clowns up there. But I'm game whenever! Throw out some dates!

I'd be down. I live in the area and do gmr runs at night usually during the weekdays around 8-9. I usually go up with a couple of friends.

sounds like Saturdays/sundays work for most people. Saturday would be good for me. does it work for most people during the day on a Saturday?

during the day on Saturdays isn't that great, because there are lot of people with bikes that go up there, and I can cause an issue.
I think it would be better more like dusk or evening...

im down, as soon as my car CEL gets fix. just dropped it off this morning. they said the left bank is running rich, sounds very similar to the idle problem other members been reporting.

This would be my first time going to any kind of FT86 meet/drive, and I'd love to be there. I live right by the entrance to Angeles Crest, so I'd be happy to tackle a new road.

Do I need to post that in a new post? Ha. And actually Saturday around mid day usually is free of cars and bikes. That really would work best for me. But we'll figure out out. So just start a new thread with a poll right?

Angeles crest highway on 3/23/14 this sunday around 11am - 3pm. pm me for details, its only me and a couple of friends, but if you're willing to cruise, the more the merrier :), just don't be stupid. (no burnouts, no racing, etc. . .) we usually meet up prior to the cruise at a boba shop or coffee,

We'll first have to decide what kind of driving we'll be doing. Anytime during the day it's hard to push the car at all because of the number of people, crossing the double lanes can be dangerous. If we're actually doing runs we should schedule it at night.

Day time cruise or night time run.

I always don't go for any type of day time canyon runs.

If this is at night, I'm so down.

I went to ACH last night for a little drive. In total, I spotted like 5 cars going up and down. It was around 10:30.

I say we do a Saturday night. But literally I went last Saturday about 2pm and there was absolutely no one. Same with the weekend before that. Up to the vote I guess. We can make this a regular thing even.

went down gmr around 730 tonight. saw 7 cops and followed one cop half way down gmr. didn't get bothered by the cops but just fyi.

Yea on my way up last night I passed a cop coming down. It's always hot now :/

Never have I seen a cop on or in the vicinity there of.. sun"day" is the ticket folks. If majority still favors Saturday by the first get together this thread creates; I'll host the Sunday drive(s). That's when I go anyway so no harm.

So I think we should plan for this weekend. I went for a quick run by myself yesterday around 3. I saw one bike, and 2 cars driving. Zero police. I say we go for it Saturday. As long as we stay in our lane and don't get out of hand crazy we will be fine.

Did this run last night with @juliog... tons of fun. :D
