Actual experienced real world fuel mileage MPG?
Now that some of you are getting your cars, can you report on the actual, real-world mpg's you're experiencing?
Averaging about 26.4 on my second tank

Yeah, i got 24 on my first tank, but i think it's because the 9 miles that were on the car when I got it were from the guys at the dealer flogging it to and from the auto detailer and the gas station. If I can get 28 mpg with this car I will be very happy

I live in Philly, so it's all stop and go city driving - 21mpg first tank
28.6 - Third tank
31mpg avg on 1st tank(90% interstate).
I'm at 1200 miles and every tank has been about 25 mpg.
if you guys don't mind sharing with the rest of the internet, join fuelly.com. tracks a bunch of mpg related stats and you can see how you compare against others. one nitpicky thing is that there's no distinction between mt/at.

I believe I'm up to about 160 miles on my tank and it looks to be about ~27.4 MPG (that's what it says on the meter currently). This is for manual transmission! Most of my commute is a stretch of highway, only times I hit city traffic is when I leave at a bad time of the day.
I know MT has this feature (AT probably does too) where if you turn the gear selector display on (that g-ON/g-OFF setting) it will not only show you what gear you are in but also flash a little up arrow next to it a few times when you 'should' shift for optimal MPG. It's very subtle and doesn't distract you but if you're looking for it, it's there. |
I am in the 24 to 25 mpg range. 99% city driving.
I am four tanks in, and my average is 32.6 mpg. Far better than I expected. My car is a manual, and my driving has been primarily commuting -- with a blend of freeway, surface streets, and rush hour stop-n-go.
I'm very pleased. |
Mine is all over the place. Right now it's resting at 32.2 with a lot of highway driving, but it drops the moment I hit the city.
Avg is 25.5 right now. Almost 500mi on the car, 1/2way thru my 2nd tank. Auto tranny.
23.5 with MT right now - lots of traffic first two weeks
I filled my tank up last night and reset the MPG...
I drove 2 miles home (in town) and parked it. I got up this morning and drove to work and home again just a few ago. My work commute is 20-21 miles one way and it's not interstate. It's a max of 45 MPH and it travels a couple little towns where speed limits vary from 15 - 35 MPH in their limits. I travel through a dozen or so traffic lights each way and probably 4 or 5 stop signs. There is quite a dose of up and down hill sections and even one fairly steep and long grade going both ways. I drove the car in complete grandma mode... never going over 5 MPH of the speed limit and shifting at a comfortable RPM... I tend to take the car out of gear altogether when coming to a stop and while stopped. As I pulled into my garage the MPG number ticked up to 31.0 with about 45 miles driven. |

Drove 600 miles yesterday round trip. Mostly highway but some stop and go and idlign in there. Speeds were from 70-80 with some hard acceleration getting around slowpokes on one lane each direction roads. I had right under 1000 miles on the clock when I started the trip. Manual Trans.
I averaged 28.6 for the trip. |
Loving these miles! Up to 28.0 (MT) as I continue to go through the tank. The great part is I know I'm not driving the most efficient as I could be and I am enjoying giving it a good amount of throttle to hear her roar up to 4k. :D
25 mpg 70+% city was on my first tank.
1400 miles or so on the FR-S , car avg is say 26mpg 65% city Driving. I am Very Happy compared to my prior Gas Hog STi's I have owned :)
24 MPG primarily around town
31.5 mpg, 3 tanks so far, mainly city driving with a couple of full throttle pulls here and there
1600 miles on the odo.....no drifts yet |
I just managed 41 mpg on a 50 miles stretch of I5. I was hyper miling to the best of my ability.
500 miles in and I'm at 28 mpg. 6MT, mix of city and highway.
I'm getting 27 to 29 MPG in a suburban mix of highway and 35 MPH road driving. On a highway stretch in 6th gear, I was seeing 35 MPG for that stretch on the average computer.
The FR-S seems to be able to conserve fuel better than my 1st-gen tC, which gets about 26 to 28 MPG like clockwork. In the tC, I can drive easy, I can drive hard, but it's always around 27 MPG. In the FR-S, if I baby it, I can get over 30 MPG. |
Impressive things right here...very impressive things!!
26 mpg in hilly city driving (Portland, OR). 39 mpg from Portland to Newport over the coast range without trying to hypermile.
After 150 miles, the trip computer says 27 mpg. I have MT. 10% traffic, 10% highway, and 80% city driving.
on the FW, you can do almost 40MPH easy... if you take it easy..
normally im doing high 30's with basic putting around and an occasional hot flare up! if i really hit it, its maybe low 30's..but still i cant believe how good it is ! Better than advertised anywhere |
On my drive to Vegas I was getting about 34MPG in my MT. My buddy drove back down from Indio, CA and said he was getting abnout 42-44MPG in his AT.
180 miles so far: 28.8 MPG 50/50 highway/city. 6MT limited brz with ac running 90% of the time.
28 MPG combo city and highway
I'm sitting at 22mpg right now but thats been hard driving the whole time well hard driving up to 4k revs the whole time. I plan to take it easy on this next tank
Had mine since Friday and I am at 30.2 on the gauge, 6MT BRZ Ltd. I'll fill up after work and update my fuelly with the actual mileage.
First tank was 27mpg with all city and mostly around drive time.
Second tank was 28.2mpg with 10 miles on the high way, 284 off the high way. Once again, at least 2/3 the mileage was at drive time. I'm thoroughly impressed. I really wonder how my fuel eco would be on my commute to and from work if it weren't for the traffic. Probably around 32 if I had to guess. On those measly 10 miles I was on the highway for...phew! I love this car on the highway. A lot smoother than I expected it to be, it just glides along. It's great. |

I am getting 31mpg or 28mpg for those in the US. 95% city driving. Still at least 2 full tanks for break in. Its kinda hard to drive this thing driving slow and keeping the revs low. The tranny makes clumsy clunky noises when I drive it this way. |
